Ryugu [Male Ursaring]Put some muscle behind the trigger.
Captured during her exploration of the fringes around Rota, Ryugu is Mana's only Pokémon. A loyal companion, she has had the creature since around the time she came to Mahora in the first place. Steadfast and loyal, Ryugu is everything Mana would look for in a Pokémon, and he was strong even as a Teddiursa. Ryugu is not much one for sanctioned battles, as he feels they aren't very natural, but he does help Mana immensely with her jobs.
—Captured in the Rota Outskirts.

I can not change what they made me into... nor shall I try. wrote:One of the tallest individuals in the class, Mana has a dark complexion, suggesting a Filipino heritage. Though her hair is naturally ash white, she almost always has it dyed to a dark brown; as for style, she keeps her hair long, almost never cutting it or pulling it back in any fashion, save for two ear locks that she ties in a traditional manner with red ties. Mana's eyes are a shocking red. Clothing-wise, she prefers leather fabrics, typically a tan trench coat that she wears over a black one piece and tan pants. She almost is always seen wearing a coat of some kind, or at least clothing that will fully conceal her back, to hide her wings.

The thing that lights up the darkness. wrote:One of the initial projects of a genetic experiment headed in Europe, Mana was created out of a company known simply as FAUXâME Corporation, founded by a Kalosian crime circle, in which genetic experiments and DNA spliced individuals were created for the purpose of pleasing their future owners. Mana was one of the very first to come out of the group and was tailored to a very specific set of requests. Though future experiments would be genetically engineered to be obedient, Mana was strangely placid despite its lack and made swift friends with another experiment who would become known as Zazie Rainyday. Also, unlike Zazie, Setsuna and Alice, Mana was created from an existing human, a toddler kidnapped from Manila.

Mana was considered, more or less, a failed prototype, because she possessed very crude control of her DNA spliced abilities. This is primarily because she was spliced with the DNA of both an Absol and a Salamence, which leads to a conflict. As such, the limit of her abilities is a set of vestigial wings upon her lower back, courtesy of her Salamence DNA, which she can conceal via pressing them against her back itself, where their thin membrane folds down nearly perfectly against her skin and is easily hidden under her preferred trench coats. The other attributes, courtesy of her Absol DNA, are bright red eyes which grant her the ability to see Ghost-type Pokémon and spirits; lastly, her hair is naturally white, the same color of an Absol's coat.

Due to her rather lackluster appearance in the eyes of her creators and her abilities not matching the "request" she was deemed unnecessary and slotted to be culled. In the end, this proved to be a disastrous choice on the behalf of her creators, though, strangely, not at the hands of Mana. Instead, it would be Zazie that gutted nearly half their facility before the two escaped together (it was this same distraction that allowed Setsuna to escape and would cause future experiments, such as Alice, to be genetically engineered to be much more placid and obeying).

During their escape, the two were split up. Surprisingly hardy and adept at picking up skills and marksmanship, Mana proved a reliable asset to a number of small mercenary and military contractors in the area as she moved from place to place, eventually settling in the Philippines, where she was able to blend in nicely due to her appearance when she dyed her hair and where she had learned she was born in the first place. Continuing to work, it was no small surprise that a job she'd eventually take as a bodyguard took her back to Kalos, where she was reunited with Zazie. The two decided to make a fresh start for themselves and moved away from both past lives they'd been at to start a new one elsewhere.  Where they were headed, one could not be certain. Why they settled upon Rota, one might say destiny, others might say that the Tree of Beginning felt like home, resonating with their supernatural natures. Either way, Mana and Zazie enrolled in Mahora for a semblance of a normal life. Mana ended up eventually taking the last name Tatsumiya, after the local shrine, where she ended up living.

Having now graduated and with their alumni knowing their origin, Mana and Zazie, to this day, remain in touch with their classmates. Mana currently works as a mercenary in Uzbekistan.

Firearms: Mana has incredible accuracy due to her history with firearms. She has been shown to be very efficient with guns, rifles and other armed weapons, as well as the use of coins as projectiles. Mana's preferred weapons are sniper rifles, but she is capable with almost any firearm, make and model.
