Welcome to New Bark Town, where the winds of a new beginning blow. New Bark Town is the hometown of the lab of Professor Elm, who possesses the starting Pokémon for beginner trainers in Johto: Chikorita, Totodile, and Cyndaquil. To the east of New Bark Town lies Tohjo Falls and the path to Kanto.

Elm's Laboratory
Elm was the top student of Professor Oak and often argues with him over their research. Elm is also well known for his very long and unnecessary speeches. He is also absent-minded, and Elm has a habit of getting wrapped up in his research that he is completely oblivious to his surroundings. Elm hands out Pokémon to new Trainers in Johto.

Locations Around Town

Route 26 & 27
Route 26 is a north-south route located in southwest Kanto. Its northern terminus is located at the Pokémon League Reception Gate, where it connects to Route 22, Route 28 and Victory Road. Route 27 is an east-west route located in extreme southwest Kanto.

The eastern terminus is at Route 26 east of Tohjo Falls (which lie in the middle of Route 26). The western terminus is at the Johto-Kanto border, where Route 27 becomes part of New Bark Town.

Tohjo Falls
Tohjo Falls are two waterfalls separating the Johto region from the Kanto region. It is known as "the Link Between Kanto and Johto." It lies in the middle of Route 27 and can be accessed via that road.
