Aurumoth have predominantly gray and black bodies. Its thorax is a light ray with two thick purple stripes running across the horizontal length. Aurumoth are different from other Pokémon of similar species in that it actually has no legs. It does however have a double-crested head. Aurumoth also have six pairs of wings, however these are normally referred to as a single pair of three either side.

The reason they are never associated as six separate wings, however, is because none of these wings are actually attached to the body of an Aurumoth, and rather float closely to it. These wings are thick, curved and highly endurable, more similar to the carapace of a beetle than the wings of a moth. On these wings are two thick purple stripes, identical to the ones on an Aurumoth's thorax. The reason for the Pokémon's incredible weight is because each wing is said to be made from pure gold.

These two stripes also appear on the Pokémon's crests, and a single, crescent-shaped stripe also appears over the eyes and across the forehead. Between its head and thorax is the Pokémon's main body and where many of its vital organs belong. This part of its body is a much darker shade of gray, but also seems to be covered in thin but plentiful fibres that make it look fluffy. Beneath the thorax at the tip of an Aurumoth's body is its ovipositor. An Aurumoth's' eyes are trapezoidal in shape and are a mustard yellow shade, like its ovipositor.

Etymology: Aurumoth is a combination of the chemical symbol for gold, Au, rumor and moth.

Gender Differences: None.

Special Abilities: An Aurumoth is capable of creating illusions using its body, such as pulling in its wings to look invisible.

Behavior: Their wings are made of solid gold. Mysteriously, if one of these wings is removed, the gold crumbles to dust - a feat that scientists have been stumped by for years, as gold itself does not crumble in such a fashion. This Pokémon can hibernate for centuries at a time, encased in its golden wings. Looking an Aurumoth in the eyes causes temporary memory loss.

Habitat: Nobody has any idea where Aurumoth live. They appear to trainers in very peculiar areas with no apparent pattern. They do not eschew sunlight.

Diet: Aurumoth appear to eat most vegetation, and are partial to meat. They also seem content with human food, particularly potato, interestingly.
