Pokédex Entry: The smarmy raider of the seas. This Pokémon will launch itself onto traveling vessels to raid them for their food. It is fond of shiny objects, creating troves of anything that glitters.
Standing about as tall as the average human, Arghonaut is a rather tall and angry looking octopus. They have six limbs, two that function as legs, two as arms and ending in two balled fist like appendages and two that end in weaponry-like implements, one a sword, the other a hook. All Arghonaut are teal in color with brown and black accents. Males have beard-like markings along the bottom of their chin and their swords tend to display their nicks and notches most prominently. Females have makeup markings along their lips, while their swords shine cleanly. Shiny Arghonaut are orange.
Etymology: Arghonaut is a combination of the words argh and juggernaut, and possibly Argonaut.
Gender Differences: Male Arghonaut have markings like facial hair, dingier swords and bulkier hats, while female Arghonaut have markings like makeup, finer swords and thinner hats.
Special Abilities: Arghonaut are superb swashbucklers.
Behavior: Brazen Pokémon to their core, Arghonaut are bold and gutsy, often leaving into a fray with abandon. They like to fight for the sake of fighting and are quick to leap to the sword. Raiders at heart, they attack ships or traveling schools of Pokémon for food or to defend their territories. They are fond of glittery things and will steal and hoard troves of "treasure." Granted, this can be any amount of jewels and jewelry or fine china stolen from a cruise liner... but also tin cans, fish hooks and bits of glass or glass bottles that pollute the seas.
Habitat: The open and high seas.
Diet: Omnivorous and will eat nearly anything, but prefers fish and shellfish.
Avast Island, Decolore
