Pokédex Entry: An aggressive fish that lives off the edge of reefs, Baikuda is known for catching its food and then broiling it in its mouth before it consumes it. They are solitary fish, and when a Biash evolves into one it often leaves for a different reef entirely.
Baikuda are angry looking fish with a long body and fan-shaped tails. They are silver and blue in color with striped bodies. Two baubles separate their tails from their bodies, males have two red spheres... females have red and yellow baubles, one of each. Their bellies are purple in color, their fins and are yellow and red. A long red tongue, similar to a Politoed's can spring out and swoop their food into their mouths. Shiny Baikuda are lighter blue and turquoise in color.
Etymology: Baikuda is an alteration of the word barracuda.
Gender Differences: Female Baikuda have one red and one yellow bauble instead of two red ones.
Special Abilities: They can cook their food in their mouths by using Scald.
Behavior: Baikuda are fierce fish-like predators of the reef and will try to eat anything that can drift into their mouths, except for Baish and Corsola. The preferred prey of choice for Baikuda that live close to shore is Keluppy, and they hold a fierce rivalry against Kellark. Some Baikuda are pelagic hunters and will cruise the open seas alone or in small groups of up to five individuals. These Baikuda will eat aquatic species from all over the lands. A strange trait of Baikuda is its desire to digest only cooked meat. These monsters will swallow creatures whole then heat their bodies to incredible temperatures to cook their prey before digestion. When threatened Baikuda also have the ability to boil the water around them to fend off would-be attackers and tamers.
Habitat: The fringes of coral reef systems.
Diet: Fish, especially Keluppy, and other crustaceans.
