Pokédex Entry: "If you don't know where you're going, any road will get you there..." A Cheshine's grin suggests any number of riddles, and they are found of them, their Psychic-type abilities giving them the chance to prattle them off. For example, they are fond of the riddle: "What kind of cat can grin?".
For all the world looking like the Cheshire Cat from Lewis Carroll's story, Through the Looking Glass, Cheshine is believed to be the man's inspiration for the creature. A feline creature, it is purple and while in color with a broad grin plastered over its face. It is not that large, about the size of a Persian, but its tail is three times the length of its body and curls back and forth in a crazy swirl. Shiny Cheshine are pink instead of purple. Cheshine are never known to touch the ground.
Etymology: Cheshine is a combination of the words Cheshire, as in the Cheshire Cat, and shine.
Gender Differences: None. Cheshine is a male only species.
Special Abilities: Floats above the ground by will.
Behavior: Tricksy, very tricksy, Cheshine is well known for leading people astray in the forests it lives in. It often finds lost travelers and makes them even further lost... taking them on a trip through Wonderland and often making them dream strange, strange dreams when they finally fall asleep. Let it never be said that Cheshine harms people, though, as they eventually direct them back to safety.
