Pokédex Entry: Called "flying fish", Atmosfin is an awoken evolution of Speedish using a Dawn Stone. They often fly in huge arcs over boats in their way by jumping out of the water and flapping their fins, leading to their popular moniker.
Evolving from Speedish with the use of an Dawn Stone, Atmosfin looks only a little like its pre-evolved form. Losing its dorsal fins and gaining elongated pectoral fins, Atmosfin is a sleek looking Pokémon with a stern face. Broad pectoral fins, almost like wings, give it the ability to glide above the waves with ease. Primarily, Atmosfin is blue in color, with remaining teal from its pre-evolved form providing the color for its markings now. Shiny Atmosfin are red-violet and magenta in color.
Etymology: Atmosfin is a combination of the words atmosphere and fin.
Gender Differences: None.
Special Abilities: Atmosfin are some of the fastest fish in the sea and are known to swim at a speed of 150mph.
Behavior: Unlike Speedish or Accelefin, Atmostfin are stern, defensive creatures that attack anything they perceive as a threat with little forethought. They are very defensive of the Speedish schools they protect and live around, leaping into the air above them to scout and keep lookout for any threats. Known as the "flying fish" their razor sharp fins can slice to ribbons any predator that dares to come near the massive schools of Speedish that traverse the open ocean.
Habitat: Atmosfin are native to the temperate and tropical waters of every ocean in the world. Atmosfin are most often found in water warmer than 10°C (50°F); prolonged periods spent in water at temperatures of 12°C (54°F) or lower can lead to disorientation and eventual death.
Diet: The diet of Atmosfin, like Speedish, consists primarily of various jellyfish. It also consumes salps, squid, crustaceans, small fish, fish larvae, and eelgrass. This range of food items indicates that Atmosfin feeds at many levels, from the surface to deep water, and occasionally down to the seafloor in some areas. The diet is nutritionally poor, forcing Atmos, to consume a large amount of food to maintain its strength.
