Slightly taller than a Delphox, Shisapien is a bipedal canine. Its body is fully orange, unlike its younger counterparts, and black markings and boots adorn its body. Unlike Welpyre and Keenine, Shisapien's ears are twirled black tufts, swirling in a similar fashion to its solid black tail. A fiery mane burns across the back of its neck and its shoulders, while each of its four whiskers flicker, aflame. Shiny Shisapien are white and blue and their fire attacks call for blue flames, often enticing rare hunters to find their alternate coloration over their normal one... They are sleek looking Pokémon and are often mistaken for their Kalos cousin, Delphox.

Etymology: Shisapien is a combination of the words shisa and sapiens.

Gender Differences: None.

Special Abilities: Superb hearing, it is said they can hear the heartbeat of a Buneary or Pikachu a number of feet underground. They also possess very fine control over the flames they use as their attacks, often making small globes of fire people liken to spirits that bob around in the night. Lastly, they have amazing physical endurance, keeping pace with moderately fast Pokémon easily.

Behavior: Called the guardian Pokémon for no small reason, Shisapien have evolved from their rowdy ways and often take up guarding old shrines and old forests. Their name also comes from how protective they are over Welpyre and how protective they are of their Trainers. Shisapien in the wild often are found in the deepest, most secluded of forests. Typically, they live in small family groups with a small number of Welpyre and maybe a few Keenine, but some are known to be solitary.

Habitat: Deep forests, typically in the eastern hemisphere. They are likened to the kitsune myths in regions like Kanto and Johto, where they are most commonly found. Overall, they prefer forest and mountain habitats.

Diet: Their diet is largely made up of invertebrates such as insects, and small vertebrates such as reptiles and birds, and also can include eggs and plants. Many species are generalist predators. Keenine cache excess food, burying it for later consumption, usually under leaves, snow, or soil.
