Sawney [Male Mamflanz]: Hanji's first Pokémon, Sawney began as a timid and tiny Schluwurz that her parents acquired for her from a pet shop. Taking gleeful delight in a tiny creature with a big mouth, as most children do, Hanji was smitten with Sawney, becoming her closest and most trusted companion. Most of Sawney's moveset is dedicated to protecting himself and Hanji, with the occasional debuff thrown in to help her subdue the current focus of her experiments. Sawney has the odd tendency to lick Hanji at random and occasionally inopportune moments.
Starter Pokémon, received in Acre.

Ability: Thick Fat
Move Pool: Flash, Grass Whistle, Dig, Absorb, Recover, Mud Shot, Wood Hammer, Substitute, Protect, Safeguard

Image
Jaeger [Male Inferaid]: Given to Hanji during her period of mandatory military service in the Israeli Defense Force, she didn't take long to discover Jaeger's love of battle and what she has characterized as a self-determined lifelong mission to protect all of mankind and Pokémon by destroying its enemies. After seeing the events in Saffron and the beginning of the Darkness' attack against mankind at the Indigo Plateau, Hanji now believes that Jaeger foresaw these events and had sworn that it would destroy the Darkness. Regardless, she believes in Jaeger's ability to achieve that destiny and uses him as her main combatant when it comes time to decimate the competition. His desire for battle and justice made her choice in what his name would be simple: the German word for hunter.
Acquired in the Israeli Defense Force.

Ability: Limber
Move Pool: Bullet Punch, Focus Energy, Flame Wheel, Agility, Crush Claw, Blaze Kick, Flare Blitz, Close Combat, Counter, Endure

Bean [Male Snorlax]: Another of Hanji's oldest Pokémon, Bean has been with Hanji since her pre-teens. While vacationing with her parents in Kanto, they encountered a Snorlax blocking the road on Route 12. While many Trainers and local authorities in the area were indecisive on how to move it, the young Hanji simply walked up to the sleeping creature and offered it the snack she had been eating. The Snorlax woke up, accepted the food, and decided to accompany Hanji, at whose side he has stayed ever since. Aside from Jaeger, Bean is a front-line combatant, using his massive strength and resilience, as well as his unexpected speed, to deal devastating crushing and smashing attacks. She's also taught him several beam moves as a surprise to enemies that might not be expecting it, particularly Ice Beam and Thunderbolt to get their opportunities to freeze or paralyze targets.
Captured in Kanto.

Ability: Immunity
Move Pool: Belly Drum, Rollout, Giga Impact, Chip Away, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Block, Yawn, Hyper Beam, Strength

Albert [Male Swalot]: Albert is a ranged fighter in Hanji's team. Using his highly-poisonous attacks, Albert stands off and blasts enemy targets with numerous attacks that can inflict poison and other debuffs, while occasionally attempting to induce sleep with Yawn. Substitute is his trick to avoid counter-attacks, and when necessary he can use Strength to hurl large objects to discourage direct assault. His relentless ranged assaults are not evident in his personality, which is rather regal, as humorous as it is that a creature made of congealed poison thinks itself better than those around it.
Captured in Great Marsh.

Ability: Liquid Ooze
Move Pool: Wring Out, Gastro Acid, Gunk Shot, Sludge Bomb, Encore, Yawn, Body Slam, Substitute, Strength, Acid Spray

Image
Chikatoni [Female Mawile]: One of the newest additions to Hanji's team, Chikatoni is a combination status/offender. Unsure as to where she actually falls in the order of battle, Chikatoni mostly follows Sawney's lead and buffs herself before moving in and attempting to ensnare enemies. Barring that, she tries to confuse the enemy, hit them from behind, and then run away. Affectionate outside of battle, she likes to ride on Hanji's shoulder and nibble on her head. Observers and the rest of Hanji's team figure that they're pretty much a perfect personality match.
Captured on Kanto Route 9.

Ability: Hyper Cutter
Move Pool: Vice Grip, Iron Head, Sucker Punch, Stockpile, Swallow, Spit Up, Swagger, Substitute, Iron Defense, Crunch

The earth groans and is stained red. wrote:Hanji is very passionate and driven in pursuit of new knowledge. She can be seen as very hyperactive, often diving into projects without thought for personal safety (and frightening lots of her subordinates in the process), instead preoccupied with observing and documenting their subjects. Some misunderstand these acts of hers as eccentric and having more than a few screws loose in her head. She also enjoys discussing this research, but as the lectures can be very long and detail-oriented, not many other Mandalorians find them interesting. She still cares deeply for humanity, and takes threats to comrades very seriously.

What most people who encounter Hanji will see is her Mandalorian battle armor, customized with a brown bodysuit and the plates having a three-tone grey-to-silver pattern with bits of green sustained throughout. A short hooded cloak of dark green, attached by a breakaway to her armor, covers the back of her armor and conceals the sling where she keeps her Remington 870 MCS. When wearing her cloak and with the shotgun stowed, she looks unarmored and largely harmless, the fact that she's wearing Mandalorian armor notwithstanding. She carries a Jericho 941 pistol as well, the holster located at the small of her back and usually also covered by her cloak. Her non-armored attire consists of a yellow button-down shirt worn with white pants and the same boots she wears in armor. She will also wear the green cloak in inclement weather.

Born in the city of Acre in Israel, Hanji has spent her life well-accustomed to combat. Early in her life, she reacted to the fact that practically every country that surrounded her wanted to kill her by hating them with as much of a passion as she saw directed at her people. After several years, however, she realized that the cycles of hate weren't fixing anything, and decided that she was better off trying to bring the world together through knowledge. Her curiosity was encouraged by her parents, both researchers in various Pokémon fields, and enabled by the numerous trips around the world that she accompanied her parents on to study new Pokémon.

Her teenage years saw her traveling from the four regions of Japan, to the European regions, and across the other seas to the Americas, all while studying the Pokémon she and her parents encountered along the way. She found that studying the strengths and weaknesses of the different Elemental types was very simple for her to comprehend, and her studies on the new types revolutionized the competitive aspect of Pokémon training and helped break the stranglehold that the Psychic type held over the tournaments. Because of this, she gained worldwide recognition as the foremost specialist of Elemental advantages. Even into the current day she continues this research, with a research paper due to be published shortly postulating the existence of a new type she has taken to referring to as "Fairy".

At eighteen, she returned to Israel to begin her period of mandatory military service, during which time she participated in the coalition invasion of Iraq. While serving alongside American military forces, she was introduced to a novel series called Republic Commando during downtime, which she quickly became fascinated with. The Mandalorian culture shown within appealed to her greatly, and she ended up stealing the copy of the book Hard Contact from the American soldier who had lent it to her, before tracking down the rest to expand her knowledge. When she learned that there were a number of hardcore fans intent on turning over and making true Mandalorians of themselves, Hanji made a snap decision to join them, aligning her scientific mind and research studies with the goals of the group.

Knowledge (Scientific Studies): Hanji possesses an extremely-sharp intellect, with her special expertise being in biological fields. She is a widely-recognized authority on the strengths and weaknesses of Pokémon. When doing her studies on Pokémon, she takes great care to ensure that the studies and experiments are humane. However, she is very interested in acquiring specimens of Darkspawn to experiment on, and she has no qualms at all about doing anything necessary to figure out what makes them tick and--more importantly--how to efficiently and quickly kill them.

Firearms: Much of her firearms training hails from her mandatory period of service in the Israeli Defense Force, which carried over nicely when she decided to make the leap and join the Mandalorians. She's proficient in most NATO sidearms and rifles, but has no skill at sniper rifles. Her weapon of choice is a Remington 870 MCS with a wide variety of either frag, flechette, or slug rounds, pending situation.
