Spintu Wenn [Male Chesnaught]: Garen hatched Spintu from an egg at an early age, as is the custom with most of the Crownguard Houses' required Pokémon training rule. He learned responsibility for others from raising and training the spunky Chespin he'd originally named Chespintu in a fit of faux cleverness. Now as much of a hulking, armored behemoth as the knight it was partnered to, Spintu Wenn is an utterly formidable foe to face in battle or in open combat, as stoic and implacable as Garen himself when the time calls for it.

Attacks: [attack=spiky-shield], [attack=needle-arm], [attack=hammer-arm], [attack=vine-whip], [attack=leech-seed], [attack=seed-bomb], [attack=quick-guard], [attack=synthesis], [attack=rollout]

Garen stands at a commanding six foot nine inches tall, showing the common traits of those raised in the Caellux enclaves. Born to the ancient House Lightshield of Fiscal City: Valoran as a member of the Demacia family, Garen maintains a fairly low rank of nobility, having no actual inter-enclave, Hold, House, or Concern-related expectations and requirements beyond carrying on the Demacia family bloodline and making himself useful to House Lightshield, and ultimately to the House of Two Lights. Garen grew up in High Silvermere Hold, the fortified and former headquarters of the Dauntless Vanguard Knight Order, one of the oldest-surviving section of knights in the Caellux empire's history - part of House Lightshield. Together with his Chespin, Garen was studied in mandatory Caellux education, as well as trained heavily in the arts of the Crownguard once he made his decision at a young age of becoming a member of the Dauntless Vanguard.

Having met young Jarvan Fourthson Lightshield, the son of the current Primarch of the Dauntless Vanguard and Head of House Lightshield, Garen became fast friends with the hotheaded high noble. His infectious Crownguard ambitions passed to his new friend, and Jarvan began training with Garen in between his studies and preparations for taking over the House and executive control over Valoran itself. Where Jarvan was a powerful bulwark and strident lanceman with a penchant for command, Garen developed into an overwhelming brute, growing wider and taller than his friend, lending to a deceptively mobile and extremely resilient combat style based on powerful strikes while shrugging off attacks. By this point the young man had grown into an image of his later self; rich brown hair cut knight-initiate regulation, almost over-developed musculature even for a fighter of Caellux breeding, a laser focus, and generally ready but calm demeanor.

Aside from his combat abilities, it was evident Garen was not a sterling intellect. Not to say he was not intelligent, simply that his greatest talents lay outside academia. His leadership ability amounted to small squads of lesser initiates at a time when Jarvan was leading drills for senior initiates and Knights in Reserve en masse. But despite that closeness and difference in abilities, a rivalry never seemed to form. If Jarvan was going to take over one day as Head of House Lightshield, then someday he was going to be the Primarch of the Dauntless Vanguard, and Garen vowed that it would be him who stood as the captain of Jarvan's Honor Guard.

The young man enjoyed a warm but rigid home life that instilled within him unshakeable virtues held dear by the Lightshield house, passed down from the crown itself in ages past. His adherence to justice, courage, honor, honesty, and above all else: loyalty, was a fire second only to blind zeal, which was considered a sickness in the noble Houses and dealt with through correction. With the strength he gained from his natural talent and years of training, Garen believed it would be a simple matter to show his superiors and the other Houses the might of his family and the Dauntless Vanguard as soon as he were to join. It was, sadly, around this time that news reached them of a loss in the family: Garen's uncle had been slain protecting Caellux interests from Darkness-manipulated rebellious regional insurgents in the depths of one of Galar's many forested wilds, further into Great Britain itself, the deep scouting mission having cost his life.

Immediately Garen, Jarvan, and a number of other headstrong initiates struck out with an appropriated military vehicle, in an attempt to find and deliver retribution upon those who had struck down a member of the Lightshields so dishonorably, and hurt one of their own through the loss of his family member. What awaited them was no vengeful victory or glorious combat, or even grim but heroic work. Rather, they realized they stepped in over their heads long after it was too late. Of the nearly twenty-strong group only Jarvan, Garen, and three of their remaining fellow initiates and friends made it back out alive, shielded by the sacrifice of their comrades. What dark powers manifested from those they'd thought to destroy suddenly answered the question of how only a handful of people could kill a member of the Queensglaive and a pack of Rangers, a force greater than anything the remaining young men had ever encountered.

Years later, a festering hatred for the powers of Darkness, greater than that he was instilled with from birth, grew into a strict abhorrence of all Darkness-tainted persons and artifacts, leading the now more stoic swordsman to oppose it at all times in thought and deed, and deeper into the embrace of the Church of Arceus. Garen ascended into the ranks of the Dauntless Vanguard quickly, any potential cries of cronyism due to his bond with Jarvan shoved aside the moment Garen was called upon to perform the results of his craft and dedication, a meteoric rise well-earned. He now stands on the cusp of rising into the ranks of the Honor Guard and truly earning his title as a 'Champion of the Vanguard', always ready to be called into service by his Primarch.

Regular Abilities______________________________________
└-Skills, professions, knowledge and talents.

Caellux Breeding: The culmination of centuries of breeding programs devised by Celeste Caellux hundreds of years ago, maintained and updated as time and science moved on. Modern subjects have some gene-therapy exposure. Results in physically and mentally superior parameters for any Caellux serviceborn subject. Parameters' increased severity varies depending on which Family the subject is born into.

Leadership Quality: Garen is stoic, steadfast, and loyal, expecting the same of those above and beneath him - making him an easy man to follow and admire for other Dauntless Vanguard knights. He lacks the organizational qualities of a full commander and thus relies on his sub-commanders for organization often. He is the Captain of 2nd Company of the Dauntless Vanguard, with ten squads at his command.

└-Weapon specializations and fighting styles.

Dauntless Blademastery: The combat style of the Dauntless Vanguard, training to allow for mostly subconscious usage of ki to enhance their bladework and the basis of their techniques. Can be seen as a lesser version of Kankaho with an emphasis on offensive and offense-support skills.

Techniques─┘ wrote:Perseverance: Passive ability. Garen regenerates from wounds and fatigue at an expeditious rate. This regeneration ticks once per second for a relatively small amount of his total injuries. When under half of his overall healthiness, Garen's regeneration rate doubles until back to the halfway point. If struck by a supernatural ability from foe or Pokémon, Perseverance immediately heals half of the damage done by the attack and then no longer functions for five turns.

Decisive Strike: Active ability. Pushing ki in two directions, to legs and along the edge of his blade, Garen becomes almost half again as fast as previous for one turn. If he should strike an opponent before the end of his next turn, the weapon deals double damage and imparts a hostile element of his energy as an expenditure, causing the target to be unable to use supernaturally-reliant abilities for one turn. After this Decisive Strike cannot be used for two turns.

Courage: Passive/active ability. Passively, while in combat Garen increasingly intensifies his ability to mitigate damage, increasing his defenses a small amount with each foe felled, as if converting morale and determination into resistance. If activated, Garen instantly begins reducing incoming damage by about sixty percent of its overall strength. The round after, these defenses are cut in half before finally fading at the end of that turn. Once per combat.

Judgement: Active ability. Pushing a great deal of his ki into his blade and to reinforce his senses, Garen begins to spin like a top with a death-grip on his blade held outwards from his body. The cutting power of his weapon rises, striking with increased strength and speed due to the rotation force even while capable of still moving slowly. The energy infused into the blade temporarily also grants it an increased reach of up to half its length. Using this, Garen is capable of carving his way through a multitude of opponents. Against a single opponent the uninterrupted spins deal almost a third again as much damage to that enemy. Judgement lasts two turns. Four turn cooldown.
Swordsmanship (Broadswords): Garen has a commanding mastery of large-form bladework owing to his relentless training and natural talent with his heirloom blade, Silvermere.

Weapons_________________________________________________
└-Weapon and munitions.

Silvermere, Highblade of Demacia: Silvermere, named for the lake which the Demacia family's ancient Hold takes its name. It is a massive broadsword, shy of fullblade status. Its blade is five feet long, four inches thick, and a foot wide. Despite this, it is wielded much like a bastard sword, and can be used fine in one hand. Were one not of the Caellux's breeding, chances are they would lack the ability to wield such a weapon at all. It is a blade of mastercraft, with a golden guard resplendent in its large and pristine blue sapphire decorations, cut to fit.

Armor___________________________________________________
└-Armor, shielding, and wearables.

Crownguard Knight-Defender Pattern Armor (Demacia Variant): The distinctive armor of the Solgarde's elite, the Crownguard. It is constructed of thick plates of high-compression ceramic and polymer-bonded steel, overlapping its Dyneema harness rigging and plate connectors, effectively allowing its wearer to ignore unarmed and melee attacks from regular humans entirely. The armor can essentially ignore rounds from handguns and provides significant protection against assault rifles, though is still at risk from heavy and assault weaponry. Under each plate is an attached STF-prepared Dyneema sheet packaged against a hard plate and shock-dispersing polythelene layer. Inventive harness forms alleviate and disperse the weight of the heavy armor, with joints designed in such a way as to give the knight an increased range of movement in comparison to similar full-body armor, though still manages to reduce mobility in overland movement and limb movement vectors.

Demacia Variant contains artistic Demacia-centric heraldry consisting of silver finish and gold inlay with large sapphires. Most notably, the greatest bulk of the armor is shifted into two massive pauldrons, not unlike wearing two heavy shields on one's shoulders. Designed to match the Dauntless Vanguard's combat style, the user constantly presents their pauldrons towards the enemy when attacking or defending, keeping the head relatively safe despite lack of helmet.
