First linked as a Nincada in the forests of Sinnoh--which, as their name suggests, have been around for longer than Kazue has--Nincada was the first Pokémon she acquired after returning to "life" in the service of the samurai who had freed her original master from her curse. Upon evolving it into a Ninjask, she found the ghost ninja following her around shortly thereafter. Bemused by it, she kept it around as a mascot while she actively used Ninjask in battle. Unfortunately, her Ninjask was later killed during a battle in the Sengoku era while she served in the Date Army.

Scraggy [Female]
While she served under the head of the Nakakami clan in the Sengoku era--himself a vassal of the Date clan--she spent a great deal of time in the Date Army. During the period of time when many of the daimyo had been united by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, she became acquainted with the Sanada Army, in particular the leader of the Sanada Ten Braves, who went only by her title, Kunoichi. With an attitude very similar to Kunoichi, the two got along great, and Kazue was greatly entertained by Kunoichi's Scraggy. Later on, she learned that the lands held by the Date Army contained some roaming Scraggy, and so sought to link with one herself. She acquired hers shortly before the Date Army marched to support Tokugawa in the Battle of Sekigahara, the conclusion of which saw her once again sealed within her blade for many years with the death in that battle of her current master.

Kitsunoh [Male]
Upon awakening in the modern era when her sword was handed down to Seno (the first time since Sekigahara), Kazue spent her free time when not tasked by her master (which meant she was almost always on free time), she wandered far and wide to see how the world had changed during her long slumber. In the Sinjoh Ruins north of Johto, she discovered the rare Pokémon Kitsunoh. Greatly amused by its face mask, she linked with the creature and now uses him as an additional scout, distraction, and prime source of amusement by sending him around the Shinmeiryu dojo to nick things.

Outgoing and a natural speaker, Kazue commonly attempts to play the 'smooth talker' in any situation, though her logic tends to fail her and leave her in unpleasant situations. Worse comes to worse, she ends up flirting her way out of trouble, giving her a rather sore reputation.
To a friend, she is compliant and trustworthy, always trying to help in whatever way she can. Yet at the mere inclination of a threat, Kazue transforms into a serpent of a woman: cold, spiteful, and unyielding. Though not the strongest, Kazue would rather coax an enemy to opening up a weak point before calling in reinforcements or doing the deed herself.
At one point in her history (though at the most important), Kazue was a servant to Hisato Aoyama, a samurai from an age long since dead and gone. She served loyally as a ninja, performing any feat that Hisato would ask of her with a fierce determination. Eventually, Kazue's master was slain; a task, however, remained. According to a pact made with Hisato, Kazue would bind herself to her master's wakizashi if she should ever be killed. Staying true to the request, Kazue underwent the process, binding her spirit to the blade. She entered a deep sleep and awaited the next wielder of Shinaijou, to whom she would awaken and pledge her allegiance.
This time came some short years ago, when as per tradition of the Nakakami family, the sword Shinaijou had been in the possession of Seno Nakakami for some number of years. Upon his return from his Pokémon journey with the heiress of the swordsmanship school in Ecruteak, his family bestowed Kagetaku unto him, and with that, he became the new master of Kazue and her powers.
