Bani [Female Audino] — A soft plushie.
A present from her mother from when she first entered middle school, Bani is her oldest companion. Shinobu used to treat the Pokémon almost as if it were a stuffed animal, often carrying it around in her arms like a soft thing. Bani adores Shinobu with all her being and is almost never seen far from the girl's side. Now that Shinobu is older, Bani is content to stand alongside the girl, rather than be coddled. The Pokémon has show herself to be a wonderfully adept healer, leading the rest of the Pokémon in Shinobu's team and refining their skill sets for it.

Suteki [Female Liligant] — A beautiful dancer.
A gift from her father when she entered high school, Suteki is Shinobu's second Pokémon. Received as a Petilil, it was actually Suteki that taught Shinobu how to handle herself in Pokémon battles. One day, Shinobu encountered a group of students picking on a wild Pokémon. It was Suteki who leaped forward and challenged the others and their Pokémon.... and it was Suteki who royally owned them, even evolving in the process. Since then, Suteki has shown herself to not stand for it when a smaller or less fortunate creature is being picked on.

Roozu [Female Miltank] — A gentle soul.
Befriended on her way home from school one day, Roozu is a runaway from the Miltank pastures up in northern Johto by Olivine City. Not content to live life on the farm, Roozu broke out of her pasture field once day and wandered all the way south to Azalea. When Shinobu found the Pokémon, she was absolutely filthy, covered in grime and twigs from the forest. As such, Shinobu gave Roozu a bath, which caused the Miltank to warm up to the girl. Eventually, after Roozu simply wouldn't leave the young girl alone, Shinobu adopted Roozu as her own.

Kyoko [Female Kirlia] — A frail ballerina.
A demure young Pokémon, Kirlia is one of Shinobu's finest fighters in competitive battle or when Shinobu's defense is concerned, using many of her shields and powers to erect barriers to protect the girl. Shinobu befriended Kyoko like she did many of her Pokémon, walking home from school once day. it was, in fact, Kyoko who was the Pokémon being picked on and tormented by some of Shinobu's classmates. Then a Ralts, Kyoko was a mite weak. Even still, Suteki leaped to Kyoko's defense and evolved in the process... and Kyoko ended up coming home with Shinobu. Kyoko is deeply enamored with Suteki.

Sakuranbo [Female Cherrim] — A cheerful flower.
More of a pet than a fighter, Sakuranbo quite literally fell into Shinobu's life, dropping on her head when she visted relatives in Shinnoh's Eterna City and they went to venture in the Eterna Forest. Since then, Sakuranbo has been more of a shoulder pet than a fighter... and Shinobu is not inclined to make the Pokémon be any different. A cute little bauble, Sakuranbo is still very young and is naive to the ways of the world and to fighting.

Okuri [Female Leavanny] — A quiet seamstress.
Shinobu's most recent Pokémon, Okuri was a gift given to her by Keitaro when she graduated from high school and was accepted into Celadon University. Okuri is like the rest of Shinobu's team, nice and kind... but what sets her apart is that she was trained by Keitaro prior to him giving her over to Shinobu and, as such, is the most capable fighter that Shinbou owns. that aside, Okuri, like most of her kind, is fond of clothes and mending clothing and spends much of her time helping Shinobu with the chores, especially laundry.

Originally a painfully-introverted girl during her childhood and teenage years, Shinobu has blossomed into a beautiful and friendly young woman owing to the friendship of her fellows living at the Hinata. Of the ladies living at the Hinata, Shinobu is considered the most beautiful of the group. She's notable for being a lightweight, unable to drink even one glass of wine before becoming completely wasted.

Born in Azalea Town, Shinobu grew up in the shadow of the Hinata Apartments, living in the small township with her family and helping them in their restaurant business from the earliest age she was able, starting at first with cleaning and organizing and then moving on to helping with the cooking once she got older. This allowed her to discover her true niche, as her culinary skills rapidly advanced, though she has always considered her mother's cooking to be better.

Around her middle school years, her parents separated in a very messy divorce, with a vicious battle taking place over who would gain custody of Shinobu. The young girl, distraught by the entire affair, took to spending her days out in the city, where she was noticed by two-time ronin Keitaro Urashima. Intrigued and slightly upset by the sight of such a pretty girl looking so upset, he made a quick sketch of her with a happy expression that was remarkably photorealistic. Almost as soon as he was finished, a group of local hoodlums swiped his sketchbook for a game of keep-away, with it winding up landing at Shinobu's feet. Initially distressed by the quality of the sketch, Shinobu believed it meant he was stalking her, and in his embarrassment, Keitaro ran away. She picked up the sketchbook and wished to return it, but had to return home for dinner. At home, another argument between her parents was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back, and when she went to return Keitaro's sketchbook at the Hinata the next day, she asked if she could stay there to escape her parents' divorce, offering to pay her way by doing the cooking and laundry around the apartments.

She quickly managed to make friends with the other residents of the Hinata, mainly through the tried-and-true method of 'through their stomachs.' Kaolla, the only other resident her age, often sought her out for playtime, though the mellow Shinobu was often very quickly tired out by the hyperactive girl's antics. Devoting herself to her studies, she resolved to follow in the paths of Keitaro and Naru in becoming a student of Celadon University, often getting assistance from the pair. Time passed, and with it, Shinobu gradually began to be more confident in herself little by little, mostly in the fields of her studies and domestic engineering skills.

Things took a drastic change after a time, however. A sinister preview of the threat of greater Darkness loomed on the horizon. One evening at the Hinata, with the sun dying in the western sky, a corrupted creature that had once been human, tasked by an unknown agent of the Darkness, arrived in an effort to eliminate Mutsumi as a potential unifying force for human resistance against the Darkness. Fortunately for the watermelon-loving girl, she happened to be in good company at the time, and the ensuing battle saw the creature vanquished, at the cost of above-average damage to the dormitory. Afterwards, she revealed her prophetic nightmares to her friends, giving them fore-warning of what was to face mankind years down the road. This incident became the watershed, the moment when a gaggle of random losers living in an old inn became a crew.

This was five years ago.

In the intervening time, along with training and preparing themselves, life continued for the group that has come to be known as "Kuro Arashi". Shinobu threw herself headlong into her self-appointed position as the 'white mage' of the group, learning everything she could about rendering medical care to humans and Pokémon alike to assist her Pokémon when it came to keeping the team on their feet. Amidst all this, with the arrival of Kanako at the apartments, and the subsequent conflict that ensued when Keitaro returned and got the entirety of them caught up in the forbidden annex, Shinobu was the third of the 'boss rush' that Naru had to face in order to get to Kanako and Keitaro. While she recognized and accepted Naru's love for Keitaro, Shinobu nevertheless faced down her sempai in a Pokémon battle, her team acquitting themselves remarkably well despite the majority of them facing a weakness to Naru's team of Fighting-types.

In the aftermath of the event, life got back to what passed for normal at the Hinata, except now Kanako had joined the group, and as the years passed, Shinobu, like many of the others, gained her desired acceptance into Celadon University, taking medical studies to progress her healing ability, with an eventual focus to being able to eventually convert the systems used to instantly heal Pokémon for use on humans as well. Just two years ago, she arranged an agreement with Chao Lingshen to run a franchise of the Chinese genius' world-famous Chao Bao Zi restaurant in Azalea Town, with Chao purchasing the building that had once been the restaurant her parents had owned and converting it into one of the few non-mobile instances of the Chao Bao Zi. Running this establishment has provided Shinobu a substantial means of income, much of which she spends on her education.

But now, however, the Darkness has finally made its move, and Shinobu stands ready with the rest of the Kuro crew to let their years of preparation come to fruition...

Cooking: Due to her parents (before their divorce) owning a local restaurant that she assisted with whenever she could, Shinobu became very naturally talented at cooking, her skills further honed over the years by being the one to cook all of the meals at the Hinata, mostly because no one else is half as good as her at the task. Over the years, her skill has grown tremendously, and now she owns a franchise establishment of the Chao Bao Zi located in Azalea Town.

Small Arms: A healer by trade, combat is not Shinobu's primary trade. She easily understands the need for the ability to defend herself, though, and has become quite accustomed to using cooking implements as emergency bludgeoning devices. This doesn't mean that she carries around a stir-fry skillet for the bashing of her foes, simply that she is adept at picking up any heavy object that may happen to be nearby and using it to deal more damage than what would be considered normal.
