Jab [Female Medicham]Creatures of darkness will triumph.
Naru's first Pokémon, gifted by her mother as a Meditite, was intended to be a protector for Naru in her childhood during school and the like, and wound up influencing the young girl a great deal. Jab shares the impetuous and bludgeon-first-ask-questions-later that Naru does, and believes that there are no problems that cannot be solved by proper application of force. Like Naru, Jab is very tsundere, and frequently blames Keitaro's Infernape for unfortunate events, who usually responds by throwing a banana peel under Jab's feet when she tries to attack him.
Received in Saffron City.

Ability: Pure Power
Move Pool: Focus Punch, Confusion, Zen Headbutt, High Jump Kick, Force Palm, Reversal, Brick Break, Power-Up Punch, Rock Smash, Psychic

Haymaker [Female Hariyama]The sun won't rise.
After learning of Naru's preference for Fighting types, Mutsumi went out and caught a Hariyama for her friend from her own home region of Hoenn. Naru's Haymaker likes to fight, and constantly tries to challenge both other members of the Kuro crew or their Pokémon to sparring practices. When not doing this, Hariyama is stoic and reserved. She is the main tank of Naru's team.
Received from Mutsumi Otohime.

Ability: Thick Fat
Move Pool: Focus Punch, Arm Thrust, Vital Throw, Sand Attack, Force Palm, Wake-Up Slap, Reversal, Close Combat, Surf, Rock Slide

Hook [Female Breloom]When we've lost all hope and succumbed to fear.
Given as a gift by her step-sister, Hook is cherished by Naru, perhaps even a little spoiled. She is curious and inquisitive, always wandering around the Hinata to see what the others are up to, and likes to assist Shinobu with chores. In Naru's battle order, she's more of an independent actor, going where she's needed to dish out severe punishment in short order.
Received from Mei Narusegawa.

Ability: Effect Spore
Move Pool: Focus Punch, Mach Punch, Mega Drain, Sky Uppercut, Strength, Cut, Seed Bomb, Dynamic Punch, Solar Beam, Grass Knot

Uppercut [Female Kangaskhan]And the skies ran blood. And the end draws near.
A mothering Pokémon, Uppercut is a recent addition from when Naru and Keitaro visited the Kanto Safari Zone in Fuchsia City. Though Naru had intended to let the Pokémon go back home after she captured it in the reserve, Uppercut's little one followed Naru back to their buss and, as such, Uppercut herself acquiesced to join Naru's team.
Captured in the Kanto Safari Zone.

Ability: Early Bird
Move Pool: Focus Punch, Surf, Rock Smash, Comet Punch, Double Hit, Mega Punch, Sucker Punch, Endure, Hyper Beam, Giga Impact

I may fall... wrote:Naru possesses both physical beauty and intellectual brains. During Junior High School Naru was a dreamer, often found staring out the window of her classroom and day dreaming. As such her school grades were considerably poor. Despite constant girlfriend requests from her male classmates, preferred to be alone but for the company of her more energetic friend, Mitsune Konno, and lacked any kind of conviction or ambition. After moving to the Hinata Apartments, Naru gained a stronger sense of independence and became focused on getting into Celadon University herself to please Seta, on whom she had gained a crush. However, her studies resulted in a decline in her social activities as well as damaging her eyesight to such a degree that, when not using contacts, she has to wear glasses with thick lenses in order to see clearly.

As a young child, Naru spent her time playing with Keitaro Urashima and Mutsumi Otohime in her youth when her parents brought her to spend time at the Hinata-Sou apartments due to her illness.  During one play session, Mutsumi enacts a promise that all three of them would enter Celadon University, further encouraging Naru to make the same promise again with Keitaro one year later, giving Naru her Liddo-kun doll.

By the time that Keitaro arrived at the Hinata and was shanghaied into becoming the landlord by his grandmother, Naru had already lived there for several years, spending her free time studying for entrance exams. The first of the tenants to meet Keitaro, she encountered him in the hot springs while going for a bath, mistaking him for Kitsune due to not wearing her glasses at the time. This promptly resulted in the first of many infamous "Naru Punch" strikes to Keitaro. Despite this, she found his efforts to make amends for his deception of being a Celadon University student endearing, and resolved to help him study for his entrance exams.

Several months passed, full of enough hilarity and shenanigans to fill several volumes. During that first year, an old childhood friend of Keitaro's, Seno Nakakami, came to stay for a time, having been invited by Motoko Aoyama. Within a few weeks, the new swordsman had seen more than he was willing to tolerate of the obvious romantic undertones between Keitaro and Naru, one night taking matters into his own hands and all but forcing Keitaro to confess at swordpoint. Though drastic, these events did prove to greatly improve life around the Hinata, now that the tension that had existed between the two Celadon University hopefuls had vanished practically overnight.

All was not to be sunshine and rainbows, however. A sinister preview of the threat of greater Darkness loomed on the horizon. One evening at the Hinata, with the sun dying in the western sky, a corrupted creature that had once been human, tasked by an unknown agent of the Darkness, arrived in an effort to eliminate Mutsumi as a potential unifying force for human resistance against the Darkness. Fortunately for the watermelon-loving girl, she happened to be in good company at the time, and the ensuing battle saw the creature vanquished, at the cost of above-average damage to the dormitory. Afterwards, she revealed her prophetic nightmares to her friends, giving them fore-warning of what was to face mankind years down the road. This incident became the watershed, the moment when a gaggle of random losers living in an old inn became a crew.

This was five years ago.

In the intervening time, along with training and preparing themselves, life continued for the group that has come to be known as "Kuro Arashi". Naru finally gained acceptance to Celadon University alongside Keitaro and Mutsumi, and began attending classes there. In the meantime, Keitaro left for America to study abroad, leaving Naru to temporarily take over as landlord in his absence. Initially restless due to his absence, Naru accompanied the others of the crew to create an alliance with the faculty of Mahora Academy, as well as visiting occasionally due to her step-sister studying there and taking part in several of the city-academy's festivals.

Conflict soon returned to the Hinata once more. Keitaro's adopted younger sister, Kanako, arrived to take over the landlord duties, though it soon became clear that she was after whoever it was who was Keitaro's "promise girl". In the ensuing conflict, which pitted the majority of the Kuro crew against Kanako, who was seeking to turn the dorms back into an inn, Naru surprisingly sided with Kanako for the most part, out of a desire to not alienate her loved one's sister. Despite her best efforts to maintain peace, the fact that she was the promise girl, and very much in love with Keitaro, got out, turning Kanako against her. It was into this near-disaster that Keitaro himself finally returned from his trip, taking a few days to get back in the swing of things. Eventually, he made his move to give the ring he had brought back with him to Naru, planning to do so in the abandoned annex that legend said would permanently bind any couple that stayed overnight. Unfortunately, a mix-up put the ring into Kanako's hands, sparking another conflict.

As it turned out, the annex had been abandoned and locked up because it was a nexus location in which the separation between the material world and the Astral Plane was weaker, allowing the spirits to influence people at the annex. The spirits of the annex bound Kanako and Keitaro together, possessing a large number of the Kuro crew to do their bidding and keep them secure. Naru was forced, along with Seno and Hiroyuki, to fight against Kitsune, Mutsumi, Kaolla, and Motoko in a 'boss rush' to get to Kanako, whom she dueled alone. Finally, after winning the duel and demonstrating the depth of her love for Keitaro, Kanako agreed to step aside and let them find happiness, at which point she was welcomed into the Kuro crew herself.

Almost immediately following these events, Keitaro and Naru became engaged, even if they still haven't married yet. They mutually agreed to wait until they completed college to get married, and they each only have a year to go on their respective degrees.

But now, however, the Darkness has finally made its move, and the Kuro crew is ready to let their years of preparation come to fruition...

Mixed Martial Arts: Beginning with her days with Seta as her tutor, Naru has almost ten years of study in hand-to-hand combat, having learned a bit of jeet kune do from Seta, though she has begun to favor kickboxing in recent years. Frequently sparring against Keitaro or even the other members of the Kuro crew who prefer to use weapons, her strikes have become quite feared in the Johto region.

This was formerly an unconscious move that she could only access when greatly embarrassed or greatly angered, but now she can perform it at will.

Bring it all! It's not enough to take me down! wrote:Technology______________________________________________
└-Poké-tech, electronics, and gadgetry.

Mecha-Naru-Chan Powered Flight/Defense Unit: Developed by Kaolla, one of the first of the girl's inventions not to show an alarming tendency to spontaneously combust, this system was developed primarily for use by Naru as a means of powered flight for travel and combat purposes. A harness worn by Naru under her clothes fits a pair of repulsor-jet boosters designed to look--and even feel--like realistic, feathered white wings. Made of an ultra-light titanium alloy, the wings are resistant to weapons fire and melee weapons, and the edges are sharpened to be used as weapons in their own right. An upgrade is in the works to slave the motion of the wings to Naru's nervous system for complete mental control of their actions, but that hasn't been perfected yet.
