Kazumi's constant companion and only Pokémon, Corvinus is a very capable aide to her reporting and snoop/paparazzi nature, often flying about to find likely scoops and then guiding Kazumi to them. The Pokémon is as boisterous as his owner, very bold and forthright. He's not much of a fighter at all, preferring to stay on the sidelines of a battle, perched happily on Kazumi's shoulder. He is very good friends with Sayo, making a point to include the other girl in his ventures with Kazumi. Corvinus even has a small camera harness created by Chao and Hakase that he can use to take air snap shots.

A natural red-head, Kazumi is average height with a round, welcoming face and dark, piercing eyes. Her hair is usually styled up in a spiky ponytail. She almost always wears skirts and button up tops, also favoring simple shoes and knee-high socks. She is also almost always never seen without her reporter band around her upper arm and a multitude of cameras, most of which are possessed and animated by Sayo to float about and around.

Born in Mahora, Kazumi is the 3rd student on the class 3-A alumni roster, Kazumi is the resident class reporter with a camera always on hand. She likes to get the inside scoop on everything that goes on, and is the paparazzi of 3-A. Kazumi won't stop at anything until she gets her scoop.

She was one of the first girls in the class to learn Negi Springfield's secret as a supernatural power user, which she discovered accidentally in Kyoto while investigating the rumor that someone had proclaimed her love to Negi. Though initially she intended to reveal Negi's secret to the world, she was persuaded to keep quiet about it. She then tended to tag along with Negi and the other girls and their adventures.

Having now graduated from Mahora like the rest of the class, she currently has taken up the job of a news caster, working with the most popular local channel in Mahora. Still, her ambitions have not ended there, and she definitely hopes to move up in the chain and find a venue that reaches more people than her current job does.
