Kakuremino [Male Accelgor] — Kage bushin.
Gifted by her father as a training partner, Kakuremino has been at Kaede's side for every step of her journey, his battling skills growing at a pace that matches that of the young kunoichi. Though their skill is that of equals, Kaede's personality leads to her treating Kakuremino as her mentor in training, perhaps because of the Pokémon's natural talent for the shinobi arts. Though chagrined with this, Kakuremino lets it pass and continues to train diligently so he can remain deserving of Kaede's respect.

Tengu [Male Lombre] — Bakusa bakuenjin.
The polar opposite of Kakuremino, the ying to the bug ninja's yang, Tengu is more or less the personification of Kaede's lazy side. Spending his days lazing about a water source and remaining as immobile as possible, Tengu infuriates Kakuremino with his lax attitude. Kaede still views him as useful, however, as he serves as a reminder to herself to occasionally take it easy and not overdo things in life. Despite his perennial laziness, Tengu seems to always stay at the level of power as Kaede and Kakuremino, another source of irritation to the kunoichi's other Pokémon.

Her hair is kept in a rather messy fringe cut with dangling ear locks and a long, partially wrapped rat-tail that can reach all the way to the ground when she stands up straight; she is rumored to cut her own hair. Most notable about her features is her perpetual squint, rumored to be a self-imposed restriction to improve her blind-fighting ability; something has truly taken her by absolute surprise if her eyes are seen opened. Her prefered clothing is that of traditional ninja.

The 20th student on the class 3-A roster Kaede is the gentle and calm yet strong and tall girl. She has an easy-going attitude and, standing at almost six feet, she is among the tallest girls in her class. She is also easily the most easy-going in the class, not stressing about nearly a thing.

She frequently ends her sentences with "de gozaru", an archaic verb form historically used by samurai. She also has a tendency to address people with the honorific "-dono." In her free time, she trains in the mountains, displaying a wide range of ninja-like abilities. She actually comes from the Koga-ryū clan, but was born a generation too late, since her parents did not carry on the family ninja traditions. As a result, many of her abilities are self-taught.

Following graduation she left to train her skill set to the next level. She often visits Mahora, though, mostly to see her previous classmates and the Narutaki twins so that she may pass tips off to them. Often she also takes the Narutaki twins with her on some of her training voyages.

Ninjutsu: Having been trained as a Ninja from her youth, Kaede is very well versed and the many techniques involved in the career. She is proficient in shuriken and kunai, as well as the necessary stealth and acrobatic techniques used throughout the Ninja repertoire.
