Fail-Safe [Electrode]It's easy to blast them all away!
A Pokémon Leah met by chance as he wandered the streets as a young child, he has had Fail-Safe since he was two. Fail-Safe is your typical Electrode in that he's fast as fuck and he has a tendency to, well, explode. He's brave (sometimes so much that he's brash) and he is by far Leah's strongest fighter. Typically the Pokémon he leads with, Fail-Safe hates to lose and is the Pokémon that Leah trusts most. Leah refers to Fail-Safe as a "he."
—Befriended in Alto Mare.

Ability: Static
Nature: Rash
Move Pool: Charge Beam, Explosion, Gyro Ball, Hidden Power (Ice), Light Screen, Rain Dance, Taunt, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch

Warhead [Metagross]Power up the bass cannon. ...Fire!
Leah first met what would become one of his favorite Pokémon in the DMA of Alto Mare. Capturing the Pokémon when he was seven, it was Warhead who sparked the fire for Leah's passion for battling. Warhead is the one most in tune with Leah's "not a single fuck was given that day" attitude and the Pokémon is not afraid to show his own apathetic attitude towards the world. Warhead is the Pokémon Leah uses to seriously fuck up people's business. Leah also refers to Warhead as a "he."
—Captured in the Defense Mechanism of Alto Mare.

Ability: Clear Body
Nature: Impish
Move Pool: Agility, Bullet Punch, Earthquake, Explosion, Magnet Rise, Meteor Mash, Psychic, Stealth Rock, Thunder Punch, Zen Headbutt

Image
Kil-Switch [Shiny Magneton]Pull a trigger, push a button, say ADIOS to today.
When Leah left "home" in Alto Mare, Kil is the first Pokémon he captured during his travels. Captured as a small, defenseless Magneton. Leah set the little magnet through a grueling training regime. During the process, Leah accidentally sent the Magnemite flying backwards into a duo of other Magnemite. The result was that Kil evolved... but also that the Pokémon went a bit... "haywire" in the process. The Pokémon isn't exactly right in its head anymore. But, given that this is Leah, he's is fine with that.
—Captured in the Power Plant.

Ability: Magnet Pull
Nature: Quirky
Move Pool: Charge Beam, Explosion, Flash Cannon, Hidden Power (Fire), Lock On, Magnet Bomb, Magnet Rise, Metal Sound, Substitute, Thunderbolt

Image
A.L.C.M. [Porygon-Z]Don't get me wrong, I'm a pacifist.
The oddball of Leah's team in that she doesn't know Explosion, A.L.C.M. is a Pokémon that he stole from Silph Co. when he was in Saffron City. Why did he steal her? Well... they presented the challenge, all Leah did was accept it. Having long since upgraded her twice from the original version of Porygon, Leah is pleased with the creature and has added modifications of his own in that she has an advance tactical prowess and faster computing speed. Her name stands for Air Launched Cruise Missile. Unlike Fail-Safe and Warhead, Leah refers to A.L.C.M. as a "she."
—Stolen in Saffron City from Silph Co.

Ability: Adaptability
Nature: Docile
Move Pool: Agility, Dark Pulse, Hidden Power (Ground), Ice Beam, Nasty Plot, Shadow Ball, Substitute, Thunderbolt, Tri Attack, Trick

Image
Red Alert [Bronzong]The mind can do more than the fist.
A Pokémon Leah obtained during his travels in Sinnoh, Red Alert competes for Leah's attention with Warhead, given that they share the same types. While Leah obviously favors his Metagross, he relates with the Bronzong and typically trains it in tactics he doesn't train Warhead in. The result is that he has two Pokémon of the same type combination... but with entirely different uses in the battle field.
—Captured in Mt. Coronet.

Ability: Levitate
Nature: Careful
Move Pool: Earthquake, Explosion, Gyro Ball, Hidden Power (Ice), Hypnosis, Light Screen, Payback, Reflect, Stealth Rock, Trick Room

Image
Bio-Hazard [Female Ferrothorn]Explosives are not what it takes.
Leah went to Unova to see what mechanical Pokémon the region had to offer... and for a long time he was severely disappointed. Then he came across a lonesome Ferroseed in Chargestone Cave. The rest is history. Like the rest of his team, Bio-Hazard is a veritable powerhouse, a well oiled machine, if you'll pardon the pun. Hazard is usually the Pokémon he sends out to fuck people's shit up... and she is more than happy to oblige.
—Captured in Chargestone Cave.

Ability: Iron Barbs
Nature: Bold
Move Pool: Bulldoze, Explosion, Gyro Ball, Leech Seed, Power Whip, Protect, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Thunder Wave, Toxic

Clockwork [Klinklang]What we gotta do is build momentum.
Like with Bio-Hazard, Leah captured the Pokémon in Unova. Unlike Hazard, however, he did not end up keeping Clockwork in his party. Rather, he put the Pokémon in storage upon the discovery that it couldn't learn Explosion naturally. Currently, the Pokémon is used to power the mechanisms within Leah's gym complex.
—Captured in Chargestone Cave.

Ability: Clear Body
Nature: Lonely
Move Pool: Gear Grind, Hidden Power (Fire), Return, Shift Gear, Volt Switch

Voltorb (x???)If you need the right tools, invent 'em.
Leah has boxes upon boxes (literally) full of Voltorb. They are the only thing he's intent on capturing outside of his main team. They aren't exactly all "trained" in the sense one might normally think of when they think of trained Pokémon... but they are all trained with the knowledge to explode on command. Leah obtained them through various means: some of them he caught, some are defused IEDs, others are gifts from friends, the list goes on. The truth of the matter is... he will literally drop whatever the fuck he's doing to catch a Voltorb if he sees one. It goes without saying, you want on his good side? Just give him a Voltorb.
—Captured, received and stolen in various locations.

Ability: Aftermath
Nature: ???
Move Pool: Explosion

Ride the wave of time. wrote:Something of a trap, Leah, for all intents and purposes, looks like he could very well be a girl. Standing a motley five feet and five inches tall with a slender build and a boyish face, he is nothing if not childish in appearance. His hair is brown in color naturally and his eyes are naturally black. He typically keeps his hair trimmed short, letting it fall in layers to about his neck. (Every now and then he'll put extensions in his hair.)

Attire-wise, his clothing varies depending on his... occupation... at the given time. When he's just vegging out or chilling, he wears a black tank top with a white over-sized shirt over the top and black calf-length leggings. Over this he'll sometimes where a nondescript gray hoodie and some green house-shoes that look like they've seen better days. This attire, along with his belt, is what he's seen in most often.

When he's doing anything related to explosives or "work" however, his clothing takes a turn for the different. He pulls out red shirt and a black and neon green hoodie. A ratty pair of jeans and some high quality, modded ear protectors that he turned into headphones, and you're almost done. He's never seen without his gas mask in this get up, which usually hangs around his neck, obscuring and muffling his voice. Typically he wears a black wig of sorts that's pinned in place with the ear protection, but every now and then he just gels and musses his hair up. (He also wears contacts, typically red.) Leah considers this his alter-ego and he does all his explosive work in this attire.

Come feel the rhythm. wrote:Leah is, to put it simply, a ne'er-do-well. He's not one for work or passionate pursuit of the leagues. He's more the kind of person who spends his days not giving a single fuck about anyone else. Typically, this equates to him sitting at home in his underwear playing video games, other times this can be attributed to him rigging a hundred Voltorb to a run down mall to see how much of it he can bring down with one explosion.

In fact, if there is one thing that Leah is actually passionate about, it's explosions and battles involving them. He selects all of his team based on whether or not they can explode in the first place... and he blows shit up just for the fun of it. Granted, he doesn't blow things up that'll harm people... but he will rig a bunch of C4 to a toy car and drive it through a junkyard and blow up random junk piles.

He's decent at battles, too, for the record, having selected himself a set of Pokémon and training them since he was ten. He takes battles with a grain of salt, looking for the most fun he can have with them. And when he's done? How big of a boom can he go out with.

He's a bit... quirky... in nature in that he sometimes gets insanely random ideas or urges at the drop of a hat. He's known to pull the "...Lightbulb" line from Despicable Me sometimes, for instance, whenever he gets a new brilliant scheme in mind. When he gets an idea for a new design? He locks himself in his room for days on end until he perfects it. Basically, he's some kind of mixture of OCD and ADD.

Strictly speaking, Leah is pansexual. He has no care over what gender his partners are. He has been with both men and women, nor does he have a strict preference. (He does tend to find woman more emotional, but he's known some bitchy men, too, so the point is moot.) In the end, though, most of the "relationships" he's had were one night stands every now and then. He's never dated anyone long term.

Leah's something of the type who will never do anything for anyone but himself. Granted, he's never really had any friends or companions to do anything for, so that remains to be seen if it holds true...

Name: Tabitha Courtner — The brain is the generator of almighty power.
Age: 55
Gender: Female
Relationship: Mother Figure
Trainer Orientation: Lawful Good
Trainer Class: Maid

Not truthfully his mother, Tabitha is a family servant who has been with Leah's family for a long time... granted, she won't even tell him who or where his family is, but oh well. Whenever Leah goes somewhere, Tabitha is not far behind, given that she cleans up after him and all. She raised him as a child, so he sees her kind of as his own mother.

Either do it now or your master plan goes sour. wrote:Leah assumes he was born in Alto Mare, because he certainly grew up there. He lives in a nice, posh house with a lone maid, Tabitha. He doesn't know his parents, nor will Tabitha tell him where they are. Instead, she raised him as her own and took the best care of him a child could want for. Every month a sum gets transferred to his bank account via a closed and untraceable method.

During his young age, though, Leah came to admire and adore the explosions created by his Voltorb, Fail-Safe. He and the Voltorb began to explore various means of explosive devices... I.E., bombs. While Leah isn't a "bomber", per se... he is one to blow random shit up at the drop of the hat.

By the time he had turned thirteen, he had already proven himself something of a technical genius. Capable of fine explosive crafting (and a hell of a lot of rudimentary styles) he developed a number of bomb signatures. His favorite one was one with two particular fail-safes that could detect when the explosive had been diffused. The result is that it would explode anyway. He's also skilled with other technological workings like computers and cars. Generally his knowledge in other technological fields is to supplement his knowledge in explosives.

When he turned fifteen, Leah took a journey around two regions: Kanto and Unova. In each, he collected the remaining members of his team (as well as amassed a huge trove of Voltorb). He then spent the next couple years honing his team in to the perfect team of detonation (sans a failure of a Klinklang). Nowadays he spends his days exploring bigger and better ways to blow shit up in the name of exploration and... well... science!

Demolitions Training: Something of a bomb nut, Leah is capable of fine explosive crafting (and a hell of a lot of rudimentary styles) and he developed a number of bomb signatures. He's also skilled with other technological workings like computers and cars. Generally his knowledge in other technological fields is to supplement his knowledge in explosive. He's created various types of bombs, most of which he has particular names for. He names all of his signatures, L.E.A.H.-D. on his devices stands for "Lethal Exploding Annihilation Havoc Device." Augmenting his ability to craft, Leah's knowledge of explosives far exceeds what he typically crafts. Meaning, if the occasion calls for something with a bit more flash and flare, Leah is capable of making it because he has the knowledge base. In his spare time, he translates and makes practice models of many insurgent group's and military's different types of typical explosive set ups. His entire library is on various types of explosive devices, bombers and military equipment that goes "boom."

It's up to you to make that call to drop the bomb! wrote:Inventions______________________________________________
└-Items created by the character.

L.E.A.H.-D. "Type-I": The basic type of IED, it's literally a rudimentary bomb packed with C4 and set to explode at either disturbance or by a timer. Generally, these are set up in various locations to catch wanderers off guard. Leah likes to plant them in buildings, typically, and detonate them from afar. While they can be shaped or look like anything, a box, an empty Poké Ball, or similar, Leah's favored ones are Poké Ball shaped in appearance and contain anywhere from one to five electronically contained Voltorb. By using the technology used to contain Pokémon in Poke Balls in the first place, Leah sets it so that when the device is set off, all of the Voltorb are ejected and detonate simultaneously.

L.E.A.H.-D. "Type-III": Small brick shaped devices, Leah uses these on cars. They have magnetic strips on them to better hold themselves to wherever he plants them on the car itself, and they are technologically similar to is Type-1 IEDs. A bonus? If Leah is driving the car, he's capable of directing where the bombs go... before he jumps out of it and sends the car in a kamikaze route into his supposed target, that is.

L.E.A.H.-D. "Smokes": Literally a generic smoke bomb. They come in two styles, the kind that go off via remote detonation and the kind he can throw and have detonate when they strike the ground or a suitable solid surface. Given he always has a gas mask with him, these are never a problem for him to use.

L.E.A.H.-D. "Strafer": Similar to Type-I devices, these are also shaped like Poke Balls, typically. Instead of just Voltorb, however, they contain small bits of shrapnel that has been digitized down for maximum amount of storage. Upon detonation, the explosion is geared to send the shrapnel in all directions.

L.E.A.H.-D. "Tanglefoot": These devices are a relatively new development of Leah's. He designed them to be more of a hazard to enemies than a bomb and based them on his Ferrotroll. When they detonate, it sends out something similar to the move Spikes, only the spiky deterrents themselves are corded together for maximum tangle-mess. The result is that the detonation of these babies sends a net of around a 30 foot radius of nasty barbed spikes and wires. Enough of these in a row? Instant security fence of war wires, standing about two feet off the ground and covering an area of 30 square feet.

Yeah! Just drop the bomb! wrote:At the moment? All Leah cared about were the Doritos next to him and the 360 controller in his hand. His fingers moving in that fashion that super intent gamers got, that nearly twitchy looking way as they flew through button presses and joy-stick movements, Leah's eyes hardly left the screen. He smirked and pressed a button. On screen, a hand squeezed the detonator for a stash of C4 in the game. The result? His opponents jeep and body were blown to kingdom come.

"You can run... But you can't hide from C4."

Leah sighed, reaching out with his foot and turning off the console. Games were fun for a time, but it hardly rivaled the real thing. He flopped out over his futon and frowned. He let his eyes slide shut.

"I need a higher calling in life. ...Does it count if I launch myself off a mountain with an explosion?"

He smirked and opened his eyes. Leaping to his feet, he walked out to his balcony and peered out into the streets of Alto Mare. He was glad to live here. At least in Alto Mare on the outskirts there were plenty of dilapidated buildings to destroy. Uh. I mean... play... in... The boy peered down at the path below. A couple blinked up at him disapprovingly, given his attire: boxers. He smiled sardonically. And then a thought occurred to him: "If I dropped Mentos into a bucket of Diet Coke from here... I wonder if it'll make the reaction even more awesome."

Right. This deserved testing. This was a job for the buster of curious inquires. Leah would bust them good.

"Tabitha!" He turned and went back inside. A minute or so later, his maid and the woman he considered the closest thing he had to a mother entered his room.

"Yes, master Leah?"

"We have a new project."
