Odin [Male Honchkrow]"CA-CAW. CA-CAW."
The only Pokémon that Qrow carries, Odin is a uniquely colored Honchkrow that spends most of his time at a distance from his trainer and is only called out at certain times by Qrow, due to his Semblance. Having been with Qrow since he was enrolled at Solaris Academy, Odin is one of the only creatures not afraid of Qrow and the misfortune that he seems to carry with him. The Pokémon has endured several moderate to severe injuries in the course of fighting alongside his trainer, and so more often than not, Qrow only calls him out when he absolutely needs him, or to send him a considerable distance away from him, for the purpose of scouting ahead.
—Obtained at Solaris Academy.

And here I thought your dark-haired friend was the emo one. wrote:Described most often by Ozpin as a 'dusty old crow', Qrow Branwen is fairly tall, standing at around 6'2". He manages to not be very physically imposing despite his height. He has a fairly lean build and is incredibly athletic, having toned and maintained himself as a physical fighter who uses a difficult to handle weapon.

He has graying black hair, kept up in a spiky style that is pushed back from his eyes when he gets serious and plans to engage in combat, vivid red eyes, and a slight dusting of stubble along his jawline. He wears a grey dress shirt with a long tail, black dress pants and dress shoes, and a tattered red cloak. He also wears a ring on his right index finger, two other rings on his right fourth finger, and a necklace with a crooked cross-shaped pendant.

You have a very skewed perception of that word. wrote:Qrow is a rude, blunt, cynical, sometimes crass, and yet cool-headed and nonchalant individual. He's a known alcoholic, and has an open disrespect for the military, even the Solgarde of the Academy. He's mischievous and cocky, with enough immaturity to distract his nieces with sexual quips in order to claim victory over them while playing video games with the pair. He has a very mercurial attitude towards his age: disgusted at the notion of being called 'old' by his nieces, yet readily willing to use it as an excuse to leave uncomfortable conversations. He's been hardened by his time out in the world, away from his family and his job, especially in the near constant struggles with the Darkspawn of late.

He does care dearly for his nieces, having saved Ruby and Yang from a pack of Lycanrock when they were younger. He took Ruby under his wing specifically to train her in scythe-wielding, allowing her to pursue her dreams in becoming a hero. He sometimes plays the part of the childish uncle, ruffling Ruby's hair whenever they meet again after being parted for any prolonged period of time, playing video games with both girls, and encouraging them in their pursuits while still telling them not to let their victories go to their head.

He's also very aware of Yang's obsession with her mother and makes his best effort to not encourage contact with or pursuit of Raven, going so far as to attempt to conceal her face the first time he showed the girls the Team STRQ picture he keeps on him. Unlike his sister, he despises killing and does his best not to harm any actual people, though he has killed before. He's upset with Raven for not contacting Yang sooner, even knowing that the girl has been searching for her. He values his family, and doesn't appreciate Raven's seemingly skewed perception of what it means.

He's very self-conscious about his Semblance, and being aware of its possible impact to people around him, he makes it a point to keep his distance from those he cares about. He holds religion with a bit of dubiousness, but he takes Ozpin and Celeste's word on the whole paradigm of 'gods' under Arceus.

Nice place to raise a family, if you're into that sort of thing. wrote:Qrow was raised alongside his twin sister, Raven Branwen, in a ne'er-do-well family with a father whose name he no longer remembers, and a mother he never knew. When the children were young, their father died and Qrow and Raven fell in with a street gang in the region that they called home. However, Qrow would leave the gang eventually, later in life seeing them as "murderers and thieves". Raven saw his desertion as betrayal, straining their relationship.

Qrow and Raven enrolled in Solaris Academy at some point in their youth, and would later form Team STRQ along with the other initiates, Summer Rose and Taiyang Xiao Long. A bit gullible in his youth, Qrow was tricked by Summer, Taiyang and Raven into wearing a skirt on their first day of school by claiming it was a kilt. It was his first time wearing a school uniform and Qrow had no reservations about showing off his legs to the rest of the student body. Qrow is still of the opinion that Team STRQ was one of the coolest in academy history.

Following the team's graduation, Qrow became both a maternal and honorary uncle to Yang Xiao Long and Ruby Rose, who are Taiyang's children with Raven and Summer, respectively. After Summer's death, when Yang took Ruby on a search for Raven, Qrow saved the lives of both his nieces from a pack of Lycanrock. He also became a teacher at Solaris Academy alongside Taiyang. He still maintains a close relationship with his ex-brother-in-law, treating him as family, though accordingly he keeps his distance because of his Semblance.

Qrow doesn't talk much about most of the events in his life, but whether it's his misfortune, or something else, Qrow focuses himself with alcohol, carrying a flask on him at all times, from which he imbibes frequently. Some suspect, though do not voice, that they believe Qrow's guilt is the cause for his drinking, as he believes that it's his fault Summer became sick and died. It's unknown exactly what kind of alcohol he drinks, but he's got a fondness for both whiskey and vodka. He never stays in one place very often, hoping to minimize his contact with everyone to prevent his bad luck from spreading around to those he cares for.

During her youth, he trained Ruby in how to use "one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed", Crescent Rose. Qrow has spent his more recent years working as a teacher, and more importantly, undertaking covert missions for Celeste and Ozpin that keep him far outside the immediate Academy after Misfortune almost resulted in the death of a group of students.

He has fought, and killed, a number of Darkspawn since the first attack, and has been making rounds wherever the respective headmasters send him. Usually, that's into some of the more infested areas to gather information and thin the herds where he can.

It's just that I've only seen one other scythe-wielder of that skill before. wrote:Martial Abilities______________________________________
└-Weapon specializations and fighting styles.

Multi-Weapon Fighting Style: Qrow is an expert working with a multi-aspected weapon. His particular weapon of choice shifts from a greatsword into a shotgun or a scythe. Qrow can handle the recoil on the run, and knows when best to utilize each form of the weapon. If either his fighting style or his weapon has a name, he's never given either. His movements are often composed of bobbing and weaving, and he knows how to take full advantage of his environment, as well of his weapon, and has the balance to perch himself on just the handle of his greatsword. To call him a master combatant wouldn't be an exaggeration.

Unique Abilities_______________________________________
└-Powers unique to the character.

Misfortune: Qrow defines himself as a 'bad luck charm'. His Semblance brings misfortune wherever he goes, and unlike most Semblances, his is always active and uncontrollable. This leads to incidents as small as a glass being knocked into the floor, or as significant as a blocked attack chopping off the corner of a building. This ability can come to his advantage in a fight, but does not discriminate whom it affects, which causes him to keep his distance from the people he cares about. Qrow controls his semblance, to a small degree, through alcoholism. The greater his focus, the more pronounced his semblance becomes. Because of this, he's constantly drunk around those he cares for.

Because without her, we're all going to die. wrote:Weapons_________________________________________________
└-Weapon and munitions.

Scythe: To call Qrow's weapon a simple scythe does the weapon a disservice. The weapon shifts between three different forms, serving as a greatsword when in its constrained form, a shotgun when the blade is flipped down, and a scythe when the mechanisms keeping the blade in check are released, expanding into the weapon's full size.

Miscellany______________________________________________
└-Small items, tools, or other important belongings.

Silver Flask: This small silver flask is always in Qrow's possession, and he is always sipping or drinking from it, keeping it frequently filled. It's been said of him that he's always drunk, and that isn't an exaggeration, being quite the alcoholic. That said, despite alcohol usually making combat difficult for someone, it actually seems to focus Qrow, and he's skilled whether he is or isn't drunk.
