Shin-Kyaku [Male Dragonite] — Fist of the blue sky...
Stoic and strong, Li-Fen has had Shin since before she can even remember. The Dratini was given to her when she was two and they have received nearly the same training in martial arts since day one of Li-Fen's training. Shin-Kyaku is unique in coloring, something that Li-Fen's father had bred him for to be better at battles in the darkness. The Dragonite is quiet for his kind, preferring to be the one that sits back and meditates on his actions before he makes them.

Typhoon [Male Kingdra] — The flutter of a butterfly's wing can ultimately cause a typhoon halfway around the world.
The first Pokémon Li-Fen ever captured, she was able to obtain the Pokémon when she was only eight due to her training under her father. Typhoon is very strong in the sense that he never backs down from a fight. An odd one out in Li-Fen's team in that he's not capable of martial fighting, Li-Fen trains with Typhoon in his own element; basically, in the water. This helps Li-Fen build her strength in the aquatic field and also gives Typhoon a challenge of fighting his own trainer.

Rainbow [Female Gyarados] — We may run, walk, stumble, drive, or fly, but let us never lose sight of the reason for the journey, or miss a chance to see a rainbow on the way.
Perhaps Li-Fen's favorite Pokémon to use in battle, Rainbow is one of the ones she's put the most effort into training. Having raised the creature from an egg, then having tamed the rage that Gyarados typically have, she has triumphed with the elegant, battle-savvy Rainbow. Rainbow has a finesse for being rather tactical, hitting the points on opponents that will do the most damage... and for being deadly swift when in the water.

Lotus [Female Garchomp] — As a lotus flower is born in water, grows in water and rises out of water to stand above it unsoiled, so I, born in the world, raised in the world and having overcome the world, live unsoiled by the world.
Li-Fen's newest capture, she has spent the last year working on training the Garchomp into a beast of a combatant. While not just having the typical move set of Garchomp, Lotus is also adept as the general martial attacks, punches, kicks and blocks that any fighter might have. She takes a lot of pride in being Li-Fen's Pokémon and takes battle very seriously.

Red Cannon [Male Druddigon] — The cannon thunders, limbs fly in all directions, one can hear the groans of victims and the howling of those performing the sacrifice.
The joker of Li-Fen's team, Cannon is still a force to be reckoned with. While he lacks the finesse that Rainbow has, he can hit damn hard. He is known for blasting holes in the competition and Li-Fen has no qualms employing his abilities for such things. Nevertheless, his lack of ability, primarily in the dodging area, means he can sometimes go down rather fast in battle if he gets hit hard enough.

Taichi [Male Shiny Haxorus] — Whoever turns away from truth perishes.
A rare capture of a strange coloration of Haxorus, Li-Fen has taken to training Taichi in the martial abilities her own father put her through in her youth. This means that Taichi is rather like Lotus, he hits with his fists as well as conventional Pokémon attacks. But, as it were, Taichi is much better at employing these hits than Lotus is as of yet. Something of a show boat, it is easiest to think of Taichi as the Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan of Li-Fen's team, something of a martial artist hotshot than anything else.

Standing a five feet, nine inches tall, Li-Fen is considered tall for a girl. Lithe and slight of frame, there is plenty of toned muscle under the clothing she wears, having a rather defined form. Her hair is a striking, deep red and her eyes vary (depending on light and emotion) from gray to aqua-grays.

Clothing-wise, Li-Fen typically wears a green martial skirt with a blouse over the top of that. She is never seen without some form of hat, usually with a star shaped symbol with the Chinese character for "dragon" on it. When she is guarding the gate at the Scarlet Mansion, she wears a much more formal looking robe, black in color, that falls to her ankles. These robes are, of course, suited for battle in the way they are cut, allowing for the least amount of obstruction possible.

Mildly bipolar, Li-Fen shifts between two mindsets.

One, cheerful and nice to most she comes in contact with. Very few can get her down from this mindset and she is generally a lot of fun to be around when she is this happy character. She usually adopts this outlook when she is not working or battling. Still rational at heart, Li-Fen is most friendly to those she considers friend and only mildly so to those she does not.

Two, stoic and serious. She adopts his mindset when she is working or battling (and, amusingly enough, gardening). When she has this attitude, anyone who stands in her way will go down in a flurry of blows. Needless to say, people should not stand in her way when she gets down to business, as she has no shame in taking anyone out, regardless of social rank or things like gender.

In both mindsets, Li-Fen is fond of challenges, almost always seeking them out to prove herself. A bit quirky, Li-Fen enjoys gardening and she will about throttle anyone who enters the Scarlet garden without permission.

A master of kung fu, everything Li-Fen knows of the subject is thanks to her father. Having raised two daughters mostly on his own, he loves his girls very much. Li-Fen strives to be just like her father in her martial arts prowess.

Having passed away with the birth of Liling, Li-Fen doesn't remember too much of her mother, given she was only six at the time. She remembers warmth and a loving smile. Yue herself was not much of a fighter and lead a peaceful life.

Everything Li-Fen was in her youth can be reflected into Liling. The young girl is almost exactly like her sister in every way, except that she's much more stubborn compared to Li-Fen. Where Li-Fen has patience, Liling has a hard head.

Born a member of the Dragon Clan of Blackthorn City, Li-Fen has been raised into a heritage where battling is key. From since she was very little, she was taught to hone her body's ability to fight. Her father was her primary teacher in martial arts, while, when she turned eight, others took up teaching her how to battle with Pokémon.

Li-Fen is something of a prodigy amongst parts of the Clan, given that she picked up martial arts and Pokémon battling with an insane amount of aptitude. By the time she was twelve, she was already the master of three forms of martial arts. Her ability at Pokémon battles reflects this to a slight degree. (Though, she is by no means undefeatable, even at her current age.) She also challenged the Johto League, defeating it with relative ease, except for her two distant cousins, Lance and Clair, both of whom she had trouble with, along with Pryce.

When Li-Fen turned thirteen, she traveled across the region of Unova to hone her abilities further, spending two years there. She managed to add two new Pokémon to the team of dragons she was building, as well as managed to develop her own skills, adding a unique form of martial arts to her skill set: Jūken. She also managed to over throw the Unova League, taking a League victory there to match her one in Johto.

After her travels in Unova, Li-Fen went to Sinnoh after hearing rumors of a very strong trainer in its southern reaches. There, she happened to meet a Calanthia Scarlet. Challenging the little girl to a fight under the condition that, if she lost, Li-Fen would work for her, Li-Fen never even expect to lose. She was shocked greatly when Calanthia curb-stomped her.

It has been quite awhile since that day and, since then, Li-Fen has worked as Calanthia's gatekeeper. She rather enjoys the job, as it allows her to battle anyone who comes to the mansion to challenge the others. She considers the people at the Scarlet Mansion her second family, in truth, and she would absolutely refuse to go anywhere else at this point.

Jūken: Jūken (柔拳, lit. "Gentle Fist") or Jūkenpo (柔拳法, lit. "Gentle Fist Art") is the usage of martial arts to strike points on the body known as meridians. It is a very technical art of fighting, employed to block of the flow of energies from the central part of an enemy's body and tie up their own abilities. The belief is that life energy, known as ki, chi or qi, flows through the body in a secondary circulatory system. It is this same circulatory system that acupuncturists tap when they work. Li-Fen has trained for a number of years in the art of striking these and other pressure points on the body.

Mixed Martial Arts: A master in kung fu, karate and taekwondo, Li-Fen has long since begun to develop her own styles and techniques associated with the convent of eastern-style combat.
