Tarrant [Male Hoothoot]I see you.
Tarrant is Alice's first Pokémon and was given to him by Faust. The Hoothoot is smaller than other creatures of his species, standing only about a foot tall, just big enough for Alice to tuck him into a larger shirt and carry the creature around like a stuffed animal all the time. Given Tarrant's ability of Keen Eye and proficiency in psychic moves, Tarrant is able to see through Alice's psychic ability, something Alice loves about the little feather ball. Tarrant is young, but skilled for his age, and is capable of speaking psychically with Alice.
—Received at Faust Manor from Darius Faust.

Ability: Keen Eye
Nature: Quiet
Move Pool: Agility, Confusion, Faint Attack, Foresight, Hypnosis, Night Shade, Peck, Reflect, Tackle, Wing Attack

A doll... found naked in a ditch... with eyes rusted open... wrote:Alice is young, appearing roughly eleven to twelve years of age and standing about five feet even. He sports long blonde hair that falls to roughly his thigh and that he brushes away from his eyes. His eyes are red in color, but he does not display albinism, rather, the color is likely a product of his "birth." He has an undefined, rounded jawline.

Clothing-wise, Alice's outfits vary immensely. His most common one is a white chiton trimmed in sky blue. Over this he wears a darker blue sash that he ties at his hip and a brown ribbon belt. He wears matching armbands and doesn't typically wear any shoes unless he goes outside (and even then it would only be during colder weather). Under the chiton, he wears a pair of black shorts.

When not wearing the above, Alice's outfits can be almost anything one would expect a doll to wear. He has several lolita and maid outfits, as well as kimono and more sport-like attire. Typically all these outfits are girly in a fashion, some of them overly so.

The last thing of note about Alice's appearance are his wings. He sports three pairs of white wings on his back. The top two pairs, about three feet in length, are larger than the bottom pair, which are about two feet in length. The wings are incapable of holding his weight for longer than a minute or two. At most, he can barely glide with them. Sometimes, most times truthfully, the wings are not visible due to Alice's psychic ability to conceal things from sight.

A doll has one face and many. One face without emotion... and many faces that others decide the doll pretends to be like. wrote:Alice's personality is one of obedience and a silent, almost sedate attitude. Basically, Alice is the type of person people have an easy time paying little attention to. He barely has any presence worth mentioning in a crowd, and he rarely, if ever, speaks up.

Alice does have proper child moments, however, despite his atypical personality for one his age. For one, he adores soft things, and, while he won't squeal like a little school girl, he will make a point to pet or stroke anything soft he might see that perks his healthy curiosity. He enjoys exploring, often prone to curious bouts of wandering, though this is balanced with a need to be around someone and the fear of being alone. He typically pitches between curious bouts of wandering to sudden need to have someone nearby.

It is worth mention... that Alice's upbringing allows him to adopt a different multitude of attitudes at others peoples' biding. Should people wish him playful and cheerful, he can be. Should people wish him demure or coy, he can be. Should people want a mischievous, saucy little thing on their hands, he certainly can be. He is used to playing a role when needed of him. But, given his default to obedience and silence, he only assumes these mindsets when told to.

Also, given his upbringing, Alice is still getting used to being able to eat and sleep when he wants, rather than when he is told or allowed to. And, more often than not, he forgets to do either.

Your family depends on the size of the doll house. wrote:

Name: Christophe Lafleur — Prejudices are what fools use for reason.
Age: 45 (Deceased)
Gender: Male
Relationship: Owner
Trainer Orientation: Lawful Evil
Trainer Class: Financier

While Alice has shared nothing about his family to those he now dwells with, Alice's adopted father was a prominent French businessman who doted upon his daughter and paid little attention to his "adopted" son. Alice did not see much of him while he was under Christophe's care.
Image
Name: Adeline Lafleur — I loathe narcissism, but I approve of vanity.
Age: 15 (Deceased)
Gender: Female
Relationship: Owner
Trainer Orientation: Chaotic Neutral
Trainer Class: Little Queen

Adeline is the one that Alice has the greatest recollection of. The girl was spoiled to a fault, vain and narcissistic, and typically treated Alice as the object she saw him as. To Adeline, Alice was a toy to be played with and thrown aside at the end of the day.

History found in a dust covered tome. wrote:Alice is the subject of experimentation at the hands of an underground black-market driven organization in Kalos, a crime ring specializing in genetic experiments and human trafficking. Raised for the first two years of his life in a stasis chamber, anyone looking at his physique would notice the six wings framing his form. The wings are the source of DNA splicing; Alice shares his DNA with that of a Swanna.

All he remembers of his youth before the Lafleur family is living in a compound with the scientists that fed him and raised him. Mentally, he was designed to be obedient and learn in a different manner than humans. Physically, he was designed to be attractive when he grew up. Truthfully, he was the among the line of FAUXâME Corporation experiments, a human trafficking line of false humans. After all, who could be prosecuted if their latest screw wasn't a real human being, but a genetically engineered copy? Thankfully, Alice was one of the last produced before the crime ring was discovered and dismantled.

Christophe came into the picture when Alice was about four, where he took the boy for his own daughter, Adeline. Alice would be Adeline's companion for play. At the time, it never occurred to Alice to rebel the against the arrangement due to the predisposition for obedience.

Alice became Adeline's "doll," in that the girl dressed him as she might have any other porcelain toy; in frilly dresses and other girl clothing. Adeline was spoiled, but Alice had little comprehension of how he ought to really be treated, so all the torment he suffered at her hands through his youth seemed normal.

Then, somewhere along the line, when Alice was roughly ten, Adeline developed a deeper love of tormenting him. And, perhaps due to Alice's body beginning to mature, he became able to feel afraid with the spoiled, little girl he was a toy to. Instead of wishing harm on her, he began to wish he could become invisible.

And, as it were, he did. Psychic powers that the scientists hadn't intended for him to have, and that he likely developed as a side effect, began to emerge. He found he had the ability to hide himself and things from sight if he concentrated hard enough, confusing what they looked like for others. One night, after the Lafleur family had left for a ball party and Alice had been put away in the toy room, Alice curled into himself. There, at the back of the pile of soft dolls and toys that stood in the corner, Alice more or less disappeared, appearing to any other being as if he were a real doll.

As it turned out, Alice hardly needed to do such a thing. The Lafleurs never ended up making it back from their destination. Something like fate that day had its work cut out for them, as the duo ended up being arrested for black market dealings. At time of arrest, Christophe tried to flee. Christophe and Adeline Lafleur were killed in the resulting scuffle. Police later scoured the house, two days after the arrests, to attain Mr. Lafleur's paper work. They found a ream of logs handling different transactions for Pokémon and human experimentation. Christophe Lafleur, it turned out, was a financier of underworld dealings with DNA experimentation. As the police began to search and clear out the house, someone ordered that "everyone leave."

Alice, near exhausted from hunger and thirst, left. Where he was to go, he did not know, but the words released him from the hold of the Lafleurs. For a long time he wandered, eating only when desperate for food or finding refuse in alleys. He managed, barely, on his own, for a year or so. Finally, whether it be from fatigue or just defeat, he sat and huddled down. Appearing to all as a discarded toy in the alley, he gave into his exhaustion. He simply didn't function as the others did around him and he simply did not trust that they would see him as anything but what he had been seen as for all his life, a toy.

But, fate or chance took interest in him again that night. Darius Faust, an enigma of a man, saw him for what he was that night. Somehow, the man was immune to the ability Alice possessed. Offering his hand to Alice, the man said nothing, only looking at the boy and seeing a boy. Recognizing that in Faust's eyes, Alice took the hand before him and joined the man. Alice has since begun to live with Faust and the other stragglers that he picked up. During this time, Alice has begun to learn to function without being told to do something and begun to learn to trust others once more.

Now you see it. Now you don't. wrote:Supernatural Abilities_________________________________
└-Psychic, aura or astral abilities.

Psychometry: For most objects of personal value or worth, Alice is able to read the feelings and knowledge that these objects retain from their owners. This can give him insight into the person that once held the object. Depending on the person's connection to the object, Alice's range of perception varies. Typically, a person that treasured something will leave behind more feeling that object than any stray object of little important to them. Also, the longer the item was kept by the owner, the easier it is to discern things from.

├─Classification: Psychic
├─Category: Psychometry
└─Power Level: Apprentice

Telepathy: Like most psychics, this is almost an inherent ability, allowing him to talk to others via his mind. At the moment, it is limited to those who talk to him first. He can not project his thoughts into others yet, only answer them. The one exception to this is Tarrant, whom he has full ability to communicate with. This only works with those who have not shielded their minds against the voices of others.

├─Classification: Psychic
├─Category: Telepathy
└─Power Level: Apprentice

Telepathic Suggestion: Alice is capable of altering whether people think a real life object is visible or not, be it himself, something he's holding, or something very close to him. Range-wise, three meters is about as far as Alice can manipulate before things begin to go awry or severely tax his energy. Speaking and psychical sounds (such as heavy foot falls or bodily sounds, like breathing) can also break the illusions he projects, as this power relies on manipulating the electromagnetic waves a person's brain receives that causes them to register something as there or existent, rather than manipulating the light that strikes an object and makes it visible. Alice is not able to make things appear that do not exist.

├─Classification: Psychic
├─Category: Mind Control, Telepathy
└─Power Level: Journeyman

Unique Abilities_______________________________________
└-Powers unique to the character.

Porcelain Watchers: Another form of psychometry. Alice is fond of leaving behind small token dolls (palm sized figures) in various places and checking back up on them. He is able to attach part of his ability to change visible perception to these dolls (therefore causing them to remain forgotten or unnoticed by passersby except for those keen eyed individuals. He can then return to the doll and see whatever that doll might have seen through its eyes with his normal psychometric abilities. He has not perfected this ability yet, nor can he make them go completely unnoticed. Should he not return in a day or so's time, the visibility of the doll will increase.

Hold me close for if I cry. Hold me and sing a lullaby. wrote:Silent as always, as Faust spoke to them, Alice looked down to Tarrant in his arms, hair shielding his eyes. The words the older man spoke flowed through him... Even worse, there are those in this world who would use you if they knew what you could do.... Was that not true? What had his family been using him for, the girl he had considered his sister... who had only considered him a doll, a play thing? What would others do?

He closed his eyes, making himself invisible to a sense, though, obviously some of the others could still see him. It was merely a habit. But were someone to learn what he could do, would they not abuse him the same way, as Faust was saying they would? He did not know the ways of the world by any means, but Rozlin took great dislike to being startled when he noticed Alice was there. Were other people disinclined to have unknown presences around, hanging on their every word? Or would someone coax him into being a doll once more, molded into the type of toy they most preferred?

And they will hate you. They will fear you. They will cast you into darkness, and seek to manipulate you for their own ends...

The little Hoothoot in his arms fluffed his feathers up at his Trainer's distress. Alice buried his face in the ball of feathers, flickering in and out of visibility as he mused and as his distress quelled. Faust continued to speak for moments more before asking them their choice. Ciel stepped forward first. Followed by Roz...'s Vulpix. Alice hugged the feather-y ball in his arms and then looked up at Faust, searching for the man's eyes.

A chance to live his life free of other's demands and influences... though he was content to stay here in the manor, it was as Faust as said. He could not remain here forever. He now acknowledged that. All he could do now was step forward. And so, he joined Ciel and Roz, shuffling forward on his own time.
