Radiance [Female Celesteon] - "The Light of Dawn"
Eevee was Celeste's first Pokémon as a child growing up in her current life, before she reached puberty and regained her vast degree of memories from the past. As such it was with her the longest, being adored by its owner and pampered by staff when Celeste was taking lessons. When she finally managed to evolve it on her Journey, the meek and happy Eevee underwent its own change, becoming just a touch imperious and self-important due to its beautiful new form and many accomplishments under Celeste's care.

Ability: Magic Bounce
Move Pool: Psybeam, Healing Light, Prism Strike, Glow, Tailwind*, Shining Ray, Lava Plume, Heal Bell*, Disable, Magical Leaf, Luminous Orb

Image
Starswirl [Male Gandolph] - "The Bearded"
Received as a gift from a political sycophant trying to curry favor with her family, Finjoy was nonetheless a welcome addition to young Celeste and Eevee's life. The boundlessly happy dolphin would often juggle and caper to entertain and cheer both girl and fellow Pokémon with all of its energy. With eagerness it joined its fellows as Celeste became a trainer, evolving no less than twice over the years, losing some of its pep and silliness and instead becoming more and more quirky as it advanced. It began to push Celeste to figure out how to advance her studies as well as to pull as much use as she could from its own abilities, wanting her to help better it as much as possible. The past silliness and exuberance was replaced with a sort of confident and well-natured form of humor, as though from a whimsical old sage.

Ability: Magician
Move Pool: Light Screen, Castigate, Crashlight, Toxic*, Protect*, Flash*, Thunder Wave*, Bright Pulse, Shining Ray, Defog

Image
Philomena [Female Xuilyn] - "The Rising Sun"
Her very first capture. The Xuilyn has been a constant companion through Celeste's career since it was added to her team. Regardless of how many changes the team has gone through, it has been fiercely protective of its trainer and of a rather mean-natured pranksterish sort. Incurring the fiery wrath of this dragon is easy and ill-advised. As such it tends to accompany Celeste on diplomatic excursions and meetings she doesn't wish to attend. Its reputation is thus legendary and just the sight of it coiled around Celeste is enough for the learned to hurry things along.

Ability: Levitate
Move Pool: Smokescreen, Fire Blast, Fire Spin, Draco Meteor*, Sunny Day, Fly*, Sky Attack, Substitute*, Dragon Pulse

Image
Atenism [Solrock] - "Intensity"
Truthfully her Solrock is actually rarely part of her specific battle team, but is rather used more for its psychic abilities, which are prodigious for a member of its species. Caught purely for its appearance, at the time unsure of her attraction to the solar motif due to her memories not having coming in yet, Celeste keeps the Solrock out of its ball at nearly all times, floating around behind her silently like one of her entourage or a halo - if viewed from the front. Solrock passively scans everyone within a fair radius of Celeste for hostile intent, or too much focus being directed her way, keeping her up-to-date constantly on the general feelings of those in the area and what to watch out for. It is also used to communicate with and order the veritable legion of Solrock employed at her academy, stationed at various parts of the school to create an impressive secondary security system.

Ability: Levitate
Move Pool: Heal Block, Wonder Room, Rock Polish, Rock Throw, Safeguard*, Reflect*, Stone Edge, Earthquake*, Fire Spin

Image
Regality [Male Brillique] - "Solstice's Glory"
Unlike her usual battling team, Celeste's Brillique was a rescue during a 'family trip' to Europe to establish business connections. While attending a function featuring an auction she came across the captive Brillique being sold on the block like any other rare curio on display - not yet tamed, for the buyer to have the whimsical experience of defeating and capturing such a beautiful beast. Noting their intense rarity and the Pokémon's discomfort, it was the young girl massively outbidding the others at the function, for once spending her saved up allowance in what was written off as an eccentricity. Regality chose to remain at Celeste's side, having found a (then) pure-hearted maiden to watch over. After regaining her lifetimes of memories, it had already decided it was going to stay with Celeste, who treated it well.

Ability: Serene Grace
Move Pool: Haze, Ice Shard, Flare Gun, Mist, Icy Wind, Aurora Beam, Double Team*, Freeze Dry, Shimmer Bolt, Glow

Image
Incandescence "Inca" [Female Volcarona] - "Light in the Dark"
Inca wound up being an award granted to Celeste by a hopeful business for her victories at the Battle Chateau, part of an elaborate gift to curry favor with family and influence her decision-making process in the future. Unfortunately for them, impressed as she was with the gift, this was about the time she finished puberty and thus her memories returned to her. It took some time to come to grips with all the new knowledge and reassume her original personality, but through it all Celeste kept hold of her Volcarona, naming it Incandescence and finally understanding her obsession with solar imagery. She and Inca may not have as deep a bond as Celeste does with the others, but Inca is treated well and has been a strong combatant for Celeste since, even though she retired from her journey to take over the Caellux family.

Ability: Flame Body
Move Pool: Fiery Dance, Quiver Dance, Amnesia, Hurricane, Heat Wave, Bug Buzz, Overheat, Whirlwind, Toxic*, Calm Mind*, Flare Blitz

Your interest is most flattering... thank you. wrote:Celeste is an incredibly tall woman, standing at six feet and seven inches. Her soft skin is pale with a touch of caramel tanning, accentuating long and graceful limbs. Despite this she could not be called frail, the regal woman moving with confidence in the hidden strengths of her form, hinted at in the lines of her shape and the tasteful definition shown to almost no one. She has a mass of incredibly long rainbow-like hair, all in soft pastels like a gentle spring dawn, cascading down around her shoulders and past the backs of her knees far below; almost otherworldly in its appearance and complimenting her flesh tone wonderfully.

But perhaps most striking of all are her violet eyes. They hold as much, if not more, expression than her entire countenance itself. She does not make solid eye contact for long, due to the royal purple of her eyes seeming to draw in those who look upon them too long. Old friends and students have joked that they felt as though they might fall in, that eyes like hers were without bottom. At least one prized student seemed to have come to some revelation after his own experience, some wisdom from the encounter kept to himself. Her smile is motherly and ever-present, her default expression one of slightly-aggravating omniscience and equally-calming invitation and welcome.

A woman in my position is whatever she makes of herself moment by moment. wrote:Almost no one could be said to know her well enough to truly talk about who she is or what she thinks. At best, her sister - though they are somewhat estranged as Celeste waits for Luna's memories to return. Celeste wears many masks, and most people only ever see one, crafted to suit people just like themselves - or perhaps a mask specifically for that person in particular if they are important enough to warrant it. She can be warm and motherly, fey and whimsical, benevolent and generous, friendly and welcoming. Likewise she can be unreadable and stoic, as much as she can be sly and infuriating. For those who've especially pressed her patience or need a specific sort of motivation, they might see what it looks like when she switches her mask to intimidating displeasure.

In truth she is all these things and more, but through careful study and practice, she chooses to present only a handful of her masks at a time to any one person. As kind and caring as she might be, Celeste is no fool, and in truth fully trusts no one and nothing. That cultured and reasonable paranoia is something not printed on one of her practiced natural expressions - but something she carries with her. At the end of the day, all that truly matters is that she uses all that she can, from money to diplomacy and beyond to further her goals. What those are, exactly, remains to be seen, but that eternal drive is one impression any can pick up just from speaking with her. An ambition free of hubris and selfishness, burning too brightly to overshadow. Ever the philanthropist, that ambition is turned towards some lofty goal of inherent goodness, built on deeds both kind and if necessary, wicked.

Celeste hates to be referred to by formal titles, the more grand and important the less she likes to hear it. To that end, her personal students and staff tend to call her by increasingly over-inflated titles of royalty and grandeur as a form of in-joke and light ribbing, which helps add some color to Celeste's duty-driven life.

A story made of many stories is still but one tale. wrote:Celeste was born in the year 2139BC, eldest of five, to the reigning king Sargon of the Akkadian Dynasty. Their family sat at the head of the many previously-independent lands of Mesopotamia, and Celeste knew no lack or hunger. But she did know loneliness. Raised by the servants of a distant mother who was the relatively unimportant second wife of her far more distant father, Emperor Sargon of Akkad; she never grew to know her brothers - only that each was training to become something amazing in an attempt to be relevant in the Dynasty their father had founded. Celeste, however, was treated to finery and education at all hours, not allowed into the outside world but allowed anything she could wish for from it. Through such a lens did she learn about the world, gathering a collection of curios from the lands beyond those her father owned. Knowledge was her only friend, and the loneliness ate at her all through her grooming years. Then she was introduced to her youngest sibling, the inquisitive and somewhat brash Luna. No explanation was forthcoming as to her veritable incarceration or why she'd suddenly gotten a fellow inmate in her gilded cage, just as had not been announced her parents had had a second daughter.

This freshness and Luna's entirely juxtaposed personality was a godsend to Celeste, and she thanked the god of the Empire for this mercy. The servants were dry and efficient, making for no company. Now here was sound and action and an upturning of her entirely-too-neat and orderly little world. She wasted no time in doing all she could to impress and befriend the younger girl, showing Luna her collection of exotic wonders and displaying her supposedly bottomless well of knowledge. It did not happen as quickly as Celeste would have liked, but they grew to be the sisters that they were in blood, and Celeste's life was finally something more, something she told herself she wasn't missing. As the years passed, they were tutored together, Celeste always on the spot the moment her younger sister's face showed the slightest frustration, her own countenance hiding the desperate need she felt to be of use to her, to keep the first face that truly smiled at her beaming. It was this desperate need that perhaps started a darker line between the two as Luna grew enough to feel her independence and worth as a human being, and Celeste's smothering nature brought about by that severe want to keep her little sister happy. It was some years later, on her fourteenth birthday, that Celeste was given a new tutor, and life changed again.

Politics. Nothing serious, she was not groomed for some lofty office that no woman could hold without appointment to begin with - her father was not that progressive, but he was practical, believing that a pretty face with a sharp mind could be useful. She was taught diplomacy, how to marshal her features and posture to draw attention to herself, and make use of her developing wiles to cause distraction and make others more amenable to her and her allies. These supposed allies in her education were never given name or face, but she got the feeling it was quite specific. A year later, her father finally took her from the home - something she'd dreamed of for far too long, and the fulfillment of that dearly-held wish blinded her to what was now missing as she stepped down from the stairs of their great hall and made her way to the waiting palanquin; Luna was not with her. Some part of her mind reasoned that this was because Luna would receive what was clearly necessary training for them to withstand the outside world, and that was good enough in her drunken state, high on experiencing what life was like when not read in a text or seen from her window.

She attended engagements, soirees either hosted by her family or those which he was invited to. Celeste had no frame of reference to be maligned as she was shown off like some great treasure, simply enjoying the hitherto absent attentions of her father - distantly doting that he'd been - and the ability to greet others just how she'd been taught. All the different colors and sounds and people and personalities, accents and exotic perfumes, it was too much for the caged bird - so much that she did not notice the bars had simply been placed further out, and she was not yet free. It was such that Celeste did not notice the kinds of looks she was drawing, simply that the variety of new experiences was ever-flowing. Returning from months' sojourn touring events and hobnobbing festivals to compete against rivals and gain favor with potential partners and those influential, Celeste's worldview had expanded sharply. It was in this fashion that she sought out her little sister upon her return, to tell of all the fantastic things dreamed by them in their talks of what the world was like, that she found the beaming light of her prison in a more taciturn state.

Unbeknownst to Celeste, there was tension there partly of her own making, which had not had time to heal before she'd been whisked away to get everything she'd ever wanted. Such thoughts had festered, and her relationship with Luna had suffered for it in ways she could not say, but could feel the distance that had not been present prior. Luna had come into her own maturity while Celeste was being groomed for what she believed was her trip abroad, to say nothing of the trip itself, and was her own person. Aware she was suddenly missing something terribly that she could not put her finger on, Celeste retreated, hoping that time and inoffensiveness would heal all trespass. And so, sequestered again as she was, did she come to find what she had been living her life towards - the years in wealthy captivity, all the grueling training, the stories and education: marriage.

This was why her father had suddenly taken notice of her so and gave her all that she wanted, why he had her educated so finely. She had heard whispers of being a Queen, but not in the manner of which was now staring her in the face with fine writing on finer parchment. She was to be wed to a royal that had been made vassal to her father, placed just so that he would forever cement allegiance and control just as the marriage would be completed, binding the two bloodlines together permanently and increasing her father's influence and security immeasurably. She was currency in a constant war for power and infamy, not the treasured daughter she'd been led to believe. Her brothers, wholly strangers to her, had accomplished deeds and were out in the world, helping make her own status as marriage material greater by proxy. She had cried, she had raged, she had screamed her fury to uncaring stone in muffled corridors, and nothing was going to change the contents of the scroll. Given a month to come to terms with it, to 'accept' it, the fifteen year-old vowed to find some way to change her father's mind, despite her every attempt to find a new way for him to gain this alliance being shut down and ignored almost as quickly as she opened her mouth. The mother she saw but thrice in her life agreed too readily with the head of the Dynasty, saying only that she had gone through the same and it was Celeste's place and pleasure to be of use to her family. She would wed, and she would be an asset to the man - share his burdens, be as a display of his wealth and influence, and soften the hearts of his detractors with beauty and clever words.

It took time, but she relented, resigned to her fate... the idea that she would be of aid to others and the finality of the situation winning out against her tired resistance and fatigued mind and heart. And then she found that Luna was finally entering the same advanced education that she herself had received just prior to her trip through the lands, and she knew all too well what that meant. Her mind made up, she stole away to her somewhat estranged sister in the night and explained that she was to be wed to an up-and-coming vassal for the good of the family, intent on showing her sister that this too was her fate soon - and that they should run away while they could. She did not get far into her speech so meticulously prepared to convince the only person who'd ever truly cared about her as a human being. Whether it was taken as boasting, or just the straw that broke the camel's back, Luna unleashed a fury upon Celeste the sheltered girl had never seen or heard before her. Even her own had been sadness and frustration alone, but this unburdened hostility swept from her little sister like an ocean, tides growing stronger as she went, not weaker.

She had not known it at the time, but the festering feelings left in her shadow had grown towering with her retreat away from Luna, her inability to find what was wrong between her and her beloved sister made the situation worse until there sat the lure for something well and truly unholy to latch onto. The Great Enemy struck out at Luna's poisoned heart with whispers of power, of triumph - Celeste could feel a voice in the room with them whose words her ears could not hear - that Luna's birth and position, disposition, meant she could be a power unlike she had dreamed, a dark queen to topple the kings of all lands and take it all for herself, to shatter that which bound her and make it her own. Celeste's voice did not come to counter what had to be the voice of an evil spirit, too afraid of what she was sure was dark magic pouring into Luna, the negativity in waves of palpable energy battering down her delicate heart already damaged by the tirade that had left her in tears. It was with a whimper that Celeste lost what she had for but a moment forgotten to appreciate.

Her mind reeling from the stress of the night and now what she could only call demonic possession, the understanding filled her that Luna was going somewhere she had not been invited along to. A place unreachable by someone as different from her distant sister as she. Somewhere in that frail body, a soul ignited with sudden conviction. No heroism spilled forth from her breast, no great wisdom from her lips, no grand judgement from her eyes, no immense pride sat upon her brow and lent her its bracing power. She knew one thing and one thing only in this quick flash of fire she'd never experienced before: "I cannot lose her. Not like this." Unknown to her she chanted this under her breath like a mantra as sanity slipped from her in the wake of the madness under the stars of the courtyard. Deep, deep inside where she retreated into herself, her last bastion of self and wellness, she prayed. She prayed in every language she knew, she prayed to her Empire's god and she prayed to the ancestors and the Emperor himself. When no help came, she knelt down, fingers clasped together and clenched white-knuckled, and she prayed to the heavens for anyone... anything to be listening. It might have been her mind's last defense slipping, but she felt as though the heavens turned for just a moment, as if catching the attention of someone from a distance.

Not bothering to question whether she had lost herself yet to despair, or to question the sanity of what she was to do next, she opened her heart, and then her soul, and then her mind, throwing open all the shutters and concentrating on that feeling she had when she begged on bended knee for someone to hear her plea, hoping her voice could reach. If not her voice then her thoughts. If not her thoughts then her feelings. And if not her feelings then to take her very soul from her body and deliver its message directly. Everything Celeste had been poured out into one final breath on every level of her being, "The darkness takes my sister from me, the night is swallowing me whole. I am unworthy, but she alone deserves better. Take whatever you must from me, but save her. Save her. Save her. I am yours if you will but grant me this. I cannot lose her!" The half-mad, fervent prayer left her as she teetered on the brink and collapsed forward onto the cool grass, oddly comforting against the feverish mess that was her head, unable to think, unable to give in and let the pain fade away with peaceful oblivion or the comfort of true madness as her sister grew empowered, dark, terrible.

The words came as vibrations against her guttering soul, too great for her ears to hear. <Your terms are accepted. Your soul is mine, and you will be what I need of you. She will not be lost this day.> Tears spilled forth from her eyes anew, wracked with the voice of the divine. There was no mistaking this feeling, this rapture and terror and absoluteness. Something had heard her, something true, something that agreed to the wish that she spent every last vestige of herself in sacrifice for. The voice stopped, and as she turned over to view the expanse of the night sky she instead beheld what could only be the sun itself. From the heavens a beam of unearthly light speared her body, connecting the realm of gods and men for an instant that to Celeste stretched on forever. For once in her life she could see, and she was, and it was with divine inspiration that she dragged her fraying body from the ground as her sister lifted from gravity's embrace in the midst of monologue, and threw her breaking form around Luna's body - now seeming so much larger and more grand than her own. The tether of warm, golden light came with her as she latched onto her sister and concentrated on the bond they'd shared before she had set the stage for this blackest of nights years past. Back to a time when they were kind to one another. When they gave to one another. When they laughed together. When they supported each other's words and deeds. When they relied on each other. Her memories gathered, she passed on the great revelation she had gained in this final embrace - Celeste would not let go of her first and only friend, or the magic Luna had inspired in her. The light became blinding, pushing up from earth to heaven and leaving only a crater in its wake - shaped like sun and moon.

Luna's soul had been purged of the grip of Darkness before it could fully root itself and take hold, at the cost of their mortal lives. Too broken had Celeste been to survive what she prayed for and simultaneously what she herself had unleashed, collaboration between frail mortal and that which is divinity, and too strong was Darkness' grip on Luna's soul that the process did not leave her with enough life to contend with separation. With the memory of friendship, kindness, generosity, laughter, honesty, and loyalty hanging between them did the sisters enter Arceus' care and the graces of his Eternity. For fifteen years they rested in the afterlife, healing their souls and minds, rekindling what they'd lost between each other before Arceus brought them before its presence once again. <You are leaving this place. You will return to the mortal world, where you will do my will - you will be my voice to those who cannot hear me, you will be my legs where I cannot walk, you will be my hands where I cannot intervene. If need be, you shall be my Judgement on the heads of those who turn their backs on the light you witnessed. Live, grow, and prepare. Luna was the first, and will not be the last.>

It was Celeste's soul that had been branded by Arceus. She had given herself willingly to the unbelievable creature. But by whim or boon, or perhaps the foresight of its godhead, Luna received this blessing of conditional immortality alongside her sister, so that they may walk between the world and its heavens together. Ever-diligent, Celeste began to learn as she was reincarnated, adding more with each life that passed by, deeply flagellant for lives wasted due to mistake or arrogance or happenstance, even more those wasted spending too long coming to terms with new memories and thoughts taking over the young mind of whichever new body she'd been born into as her soul and brand reasserted themselves. It was through much trial and error that the sisters mastered their new existence, and Celeste's work began, sowing seeds for futures only she could see, weaving prophecies with the power of history like a Fate, growing ever more powerful with each repetition. At times they were many things, at times only one. Rulers one life, soldiery the next, muses, coinbenders, tradesmen. Hiding sex and connections as necessary, but always cultivating the bloodline they were constantly reborn into. Celeste made sure to build the Caellux House into something grand, setting plans in motion expecting her death so that by her rebirth she could pick up where progress had been made.

From the Middle East for over two thousand years, to the Roman Empire near the turn of the calendar, to Europe during the Crusades, the sisters spread their works and influence across much of the known and settled world, through deeds both overt and subtle, gentle touches causing powerful ripples to great and smashing force as they walked through history and all it had to offer them, all for Celeste to continue to pay back her infinite debt to Arceus for her sister's purity, happily bending the world away from the Great Enemy wherever and whenever she could - learning to plan further and further ahead beyond what should have been humanly acceptable. They had unwittingly become a force that shaped the world and its future, gingerly, methodically, focusing on what they could do to gain and become more, on how to share what they could and protect what they would.

Over time she taught many people, gathered the most ostentatious treasures of each age, ensnared Great Houses in legion to her banner. Her accomplishments are without number, and often not attributed to herself by design or happenstance. At one point she taught a young Kalosian maiden in the art of war and holy reverence combined. Another, she was written into legends for bestowing a fine blade of her own enchantment to a traveler coming upon her sunbathing in the midst of a lake. She learned from and taught a number of philosophers small and famous, traded strategy with far-off generals, medicine to powerful shaman. Between the two, Celeste and Luna unknowingly championed the survival of the Arts and sciences through the ages, by inspiring others with their deeds and charms as muses, or through their great patronage - a potent weapon against the Darkness' insidious grasp.

And so through four thousand years of death and life and rebirth, do we come to today. This beautiful globalization of technology and ideas, and a period she had been whispered to by Arceus was crucial to plan for all this time. Celeste was reborn into her bloodline as an heiress of the Caellux Concern, perhaps THE most powerful enterprise in this new world. She and Luna lived their lives accordingly, as simple rich girls being groomed for power. Celeste had even gone on her own Pokémon journey, and was in the midst of conquering the Battle Chateau when it began. The memories flooded back, sending the confident young woman reeling out of the limelight that was her life for two whole years. When she resurfaced, Luna had parted from the family and Celeste had grown greatly dissatisfied with her descendants: the family produced many things and brokered many deals, but on the side it was assisting in arms production irresponsibly. Such practices could only aid the Darkness. Celeste quit the life her now-eighteen year old self had come to enjoy, and returned to the seat of the Concern with wisdom and cunning unmatched. Within the space of a year and a half she had deposed the majority chairs, seized power through clauses she had left in the paperwork herself generations past, weeded out her descendants of those most susceptible to The Great Enemy's wishes, and set about making good on her pact with her God Arceus once again.

Once again Celeste wore many hats as Luna went her own way, to the 'elder' twin's sad farewell but peaceful understanding - Luna's mind would return to her again just as hers had. High Priestess of the denomination of Arceus' church. The powerful chief executive of a true mover and shaker entity in the world. Unfathomable debutante, and now once again - sterling headmistress. Her Academy well and truly complete, it was time to work on crafting the Faithful. Those who, whether they knew it or not, whether they prayed to it or not, would be as soldiers for the war against the Darkness, in Arceus' name. She is often seen wearing otherworldly white dress, clearly crafted to catch the light she always seemed to bring with her somehow, bringing that blessed sun which saved her and her little sister from despair and damnation with her everywhere her steps took her, her light reaching out as far as she could stretch to gather those to her who would heed her word and stand in her presence. The Dawnmother calls the light of the sun to her in the dark places of the world, and those fated children stand with her against abomination.

Arceus' world is too full of interesting things to not learn as much as you can. wrote:Regular Abilities______________________________________

Diplomat: She has often incarnated back into her bloodline as a noble if not outright royalty, several times of differing lands and kingdoms. Having lived much of it, she is an expert on history, tradition, culture, and custom. Celeste is quite the polyglot, able to speak, write, and understand most languages but some of the most obscure with a high degree of fluidity. Her extreme insight into others' mental processes and emotional states, coupled with her hard-studied knowledge of current affairs makes her a political force of reckoning the world has not seen the like of before. Celeste's contracts are ironclad and enforced even sterner, earning her a frightening reputation for doing whatever it takes to see to it that what she wants to happen gets done. That what she wants almost always legitimately benefits those involved immediately or over time makes that reputation a respectable one.

Songstress: Celeste, like Luna, in each life bears a voice so clear and powerful that its uses are many and varied. From shouting orders over the din of battle, to floating a whisper across a crowded room to a waiting ear. But her singing voice is truly awe-inspiring. Where her younger sister's voice is perfectly-pitched for the darker and slightly deeper tones, Celeste can climb high into the scale with great warmth and clarity. In past lives, their duets were a thing of legend, able to bring people together or down to their knees - to fervor or despair. Their songs to celebrate dawn and dusk were said to be the reason that the sun and moon rose and set.

Tactical Genius: Celeste, unbeknownst to most, has lived a long, long life. Or rather, quite a few lives. Almost always lives of leadership and station. She has studied with some of the best tutors of every age since her first birth, learned from wizened generals and great tacticians, fought beside unknown talent and undiscovered skill on many battlefields. Through this staggered great lifetime of hers, she has become a master of reading cues from a personal level all the way to the grand stage of armies crashing back and forth. Celeste plays a long match against the odds at all times, engagements small and fierce all seguing into her true goal. She will often know what the opponent is planning, at times even before they become her opponent. It is a rare adversary in that a battle begins when Celeste draws her literal or political weapon, rather than having already ended. She takes great care to identify and separate bias, arrogance, and hubris from her dealings and plans.

Tea Sommelier: Celeste is an aficionado extraordinaire of teacraft, the brewing, the tasting, the artistry. Her cups are unique, each person lucky enough to take tea with Celeste has a cup brewed unique to their personality, tastes, and mood - usually before they've even introduced themselves. The presentation of which creates that mischievous feeling of mystery Celeste loves to perpetuate. Truly not a waste of her skills. Some students have made the pilgrimage to her academy and enlisted simply to learn tea presentation - a course highly recommended for those on the political and diplomatic tracks.

Axemanship: Despite her frame, this is where Celeste's true talents in combat lie. She will not wield her axe except against an enemy most skilled or dire-equipped. The leading edge of her axe swings catch the sun's light with every stroke, flashing like fire as it bites through the most resilient of armors and flesh with almost effortless ease.

Bladecasting: Skill at Bladecasting, an ability unique to those with Plates. The formation of a four-foot straight blade using the raw energy or physical manifestation of one's Element. The blade itself is unique to every user - based on a conviction key to their being without which the blade will not function, and composed of a basis of a single Pokémon move like any other Elemental Ability. The blade cannot be physically wielded and is instead controlled mentally. All blades share the ability to 'shatter' into shards and reform back into a blade, these shards each carry the same effects or ability as the main blade and can be individually controlled. The number of shards a blade can shatter into and still be controlled is based wholly on the user's level of Bladecasting skill. Advancement requires an enormous amount of time invested for even the most prodigious, or an experienced mentor. The individual's blade (named for the requisite conviction) is listed as a Unique Ability on their sheet and cannot be copied. (Novice: 4 shards) (Journeyman: 8 shards) (Expert: 12 shards) (Master: 16 shards) (Grandmaster: 32 shards, expanded basis)

Lances: A throwback to her medieval roots, Celeste is exceedingly handy with the thrusting and couched lances, able to fight from horseback or on foot. Her already impressive reach greatly extended through the skillful use of her long-necked weapons. Her spear-work and skill at polearms is no less polished. It is not her main area of expertise, but she has long believed in keeping as many of her previous skills up-to-date as possible. Where she finds the time is anyone's guess.

Shields: Despite having been commander, leader. and general, moving her armies with precision and foresight, Celeste was never one to shy away from the front when tactically sound. Despite her looks, the woman's deceptively sturdy body made her perfect for the sword-and-board fighting style, wielding a shield became second nature. Just because you'll reincarnate after you die doesn't mean you want to be run through with a sword.

Swordsmanship (Longsword): Also covering foils and shortswords, Celeste was trained many times over in court swordsmanship, as well as having picked up far more practical experience putting the busy end of her blades in the busy bodies on the enemy's lines.

Aura Oppression: Ability to massively inflate the presence of one's Aura, making the user supernaturally imposing. At choice this can manifest as drawing attention to the user automatically or supernatural fear of the user - either in causing a panicked retreat away from the user, or a great pressure on the body of those affected, similar to increased gravity slowing movement and reaction speed. Requires powerful Aura and expertly-honed powers of concentration - the user is unable to make attacks while exerting their will or pressure on others.

Elemental Abilities____________________________________
└-Powers from a Light Plate.

(Note: In respect to offense/defense Light Constructs are considered an effect one stage below the mastery level of the ability used to create them. Light Constructs can be mentally programmed by the user to follow simple orders)

Solar Guard: Based on [Flare Gun], [Double Team], and [Mind Reader] Solar Guard creates a bright flash of light and pressure (pushing back opponents within several yards of the user) that coalesces into several (Master: 4) Light Constructs fashioned as featureless armored humanoid soldiers under the command of the user. As these are not real beings, they are controlled through mental commands. The Constructs are capable of offense and defense based on their type. The user may choose to create any combination of Shieldmen, Swordsmen, or Marksmen with each usage. The number of Constructs the user can maintain is dependent on the level of the ability (Master: 12). The Constructs may be split up into groups based on their Guard type and given orders as a unit. Each Construct can survive one physical attack at their effective level or above (for each stage below the Construct's effective level, double the number of physical attacks it can survive) and Constructs are destroyed from one Supernatural attack - Shieldmen have the ability to absorb Supernatural area or multi-attacks, so that attacks which would normally strike through and/or behind them instead stop with their destruction. Once commanded, units are autonomous and perform as if they held the user's senses. Constructs fade when user is knocked unconscious, slain, or combat ends. (These do not count as allies for the sake of other abilities.)
--When used at a Grandmaster level, Solar Guard gains a new usage, referred to as Solar Empire. This ability may be used once per three threads, and the user must concentrate for the duration in order to maintain Grandmaster level usage, giving up the ability to attack or focus on escape or else the ability diminishes back into its Master-level usage of Solar Guard and the constraints therein. As Solar Empire, the theoretical number of constructs made by this ability is technically unlimited, restrained entirely by the user's stamina and pool of elemental energy. (Celeste's current max limit: 1000) These upgraded Solar Guardians are capable of squad-based tactics through the addition of constructs acting as a relay node or 'Sergeant' to disperse Celeste's commands over certain groups of her manufactured forces. Ironically it is during this time the user is most vulnerable as they can only offer token self-defense without breaking concentration.

Abeyance: Based on [Glow] and [Velocity], the user can fill themselves with light, conferring several possibilities. The user may run extremely quickly in short bursts, they may levitate through the air with great speed and maneuverability. Or they may teleport once per activation (Master: 5 feet to one mile), ending the ability. Once activated, the ability remains active until canceled, constantly draining stamina at a slow rate.

Arceus' Absolution: From [Healing Light] and [Soothing Bell], Arceus' Absolution works only on defeated recently-turned Darkspawn and those corrupted by Darkness with some measure of willingness to return from its clutches. The user lays their hand on the unresisting target and speaks forth a sermon of righteousness and the mercy of Arceus' divine will. Liquid-like Light energy coats the target as the user speaks, burning away corruption and impurity from within and without. The process is painful and in the case of those touched by Darkness, requires great willpower to see through. If encountering resistance with an otherwise willing target, the user begins to take damage until they are forced to stop or the sermon is successfully completed. Once complete in three rounds (if resisted), recently-turned Darkspawn are returned to their proper forms, and those touched and corrupted are purged of Darkness' mutation and influence, giving them a second chance to return to the light despite bearing the taint of the Enemy.

Arceus' Scorn: Based on [Shimmer Bolt], [Guillotine], and [Hold Back]. This is an ability which only works on Darkspawn. The user creates a large guillotine blade on a long chain out of hardlight-formed energy and begins to swing it around in a wide arc. The blade is phantasmal, and will pass through allies, humanoid/Pokémon enemies, and solid objects. Upon passing through a Darkspawn, the blade attacks the creature with a strong burst of divine light from within. Minor Darkspawn are defeated in one blow, brought to death's door and stabilized, but unable to continue the fight. Stronger Darkspawn forms take increased damage than they otherwise would, but are not instantly defeated.

Banishment: Created from [Shiner], [Giga Impact], and [Whirlwind]. A simple haymaker, with the user's arm completely suffused with Light energy. The target, if struck, is flung back an incredible distance (Master: 30yds). If thrown as an uppercut, the struck target will instead rise skyward a similar amount. Banishment can be charged beforehand, doubling in knockback power and doing half again more damage. If charged, the user may not attack again for as many turns as their attack was charged, for rest.

└─Power Level: Master

Bending Light: [Glow], [Smokescreen]. The user makes great use of their basic photokinesis ability, and skillfully directs light to bend around their person. This can be an aura of up to 30ft, an emanation that affects only the user and items on their person, or it can be attached to an object in either form. The affected are completely invisible to normal and supernatural sight, detection methods of scent and hearing still function to locate appropriately.

└─Power Level: Master

Binding Hymn: Based on [Glow] and [Helping Hand], the user of this ability begins a wordless song of praise to the Greater Powers. As they sing, their energies spill out into the near battlefield, imbuing the manufactured or natural weapons of allies with condensed Light energy. Allies landing strikes with such-empowered weapons deal an equal amount of Light-energy damage while the user sings and for a short time after. (Master: 10 rounds)

Blinding Judgement: Based on [Zodiac Blade] and [Flash], the user's weapon is bathed in eyeball-searing light mid-swing, destroying concentration and accuracy in offense and defense, allowing the powerful stroke to land more easily.

└─Power Level: Master

Chains of Perdition: Based on [Shining Ray], [Fire Spin], and [Block], spears of light and flame burst from the ground around the target, sudden and blinding, to wrap around the target's limbs and waist. From their origin point in the earth or flooring, physical chains are forged from minerals and metals found therein, binding the target even more completely. The bindings are naturally burning hot being made of cooling molten metal, flesh-searing light, and fire. Protect-like effects will not interfere with the Chains taking hold of the target. The chains must be dodged or destroyed, either with enhanced superhuman strength, elemental attacks, or weaponry. Flying targets are brought down to the earth and secured if caught.

Dawn's Radiance: Based on [Glow], [Sunny Day], and [Morning Sun], twice per thread the user can activate this ability which sends up a tightly-packed ball of elemental essence into the sky, whereupon it explodes and for all intents and purposes turns night to day in a cylindrical hundred foot radius, creating an intense aura of divine light. Fire-type and Light-type moves and abilities are enhanced for Plate-users and Pokémon. Those the user considers allies are under a regeneration effect while this light shines down, restoring a bit of health each turn. Light Constructs so empowered are treated as one stage higher. Effect ends at the end of combat or five turns after activation. Dispels special ability or Pokémon-created weather effects and is replaced by other weather effects.

Empyrean Avenger: [Crashlight], [Retaliate], and [Lock On]. If one of the user's allies are felled by a foe within sight of the user, they may activate this ability to summon forth a pillar of light from the heavens, slamming down into the foe with high accuracy. The more allies defeated by the enemy in the same turn can make for an even stronger and more accurate pillar striking down from above like some flung hammer of the gods.

└─Power Level: Master

Gilt Bastion: Drawn from [Glow], [Protect], and [Conversion 2], Gilt Bastion creates a thick field of hardlight on the user's left arm that becomes a translucent tower shield. The shield will automatically move the user's arm to intercept attacks and supernatural abilities a stage or more below its own. When manually intercepting an elemental attack with it (the same stage or higher), the shield's color tints as it changes to resist that element. All intercepted attacks reduce damage the user would take by a significant amount (Master, Physical: 50% | Master, Supernatural: 20%). The user will receive double damage, unresisted, from elemental attacks which oppose their shield's converted aura.

Harmony's Choir: [Castigate], [Echoed Voice], and [Round] combine to create an odd ability. The user begins to sing, causing a bright light to swell from behind them as their voice washes over the enemies. Allies may join in the song, each ally joining the choir causes the sound to become louder, the light to become brighter - blinding opponents more and more severely. Each post that this song is maintained, the sonic and Light-elemental damage to enemies increases. At maximum Accompaniment (Master: 5), the song cannot be ignored or blocked out so long as one maintains the organs for sight and/or sound. Allies and neutrals simply hear the conjoined voices of those singing.

Heroic Panoply: An attack and equipment ability based on [Light Spear], [Sing], and [Velocity]. When the user activates this ability, phantom music begins to play as a hardlight spear forms in their empty hand (or around their current real weapon). After this spear forms, multiple spears (Master: 15) fade into view floating behind the user, points aiming for nearby opponents. Each spear can be launched at all nearby opponents at once, or trained on a single opponent and launched one after another, each spear growing faster than the one before it until the last few fly faster than the human eye can track. If thrown, ending the ability, the original spear will vanish just before reaching the opponent and appear from behind them instead.

Last Light: Basing this ability off of [Healing Light], [Explosion], and [Heal Bell], it is usable once per two threads. The user sacrifices themselves in a glorious explosion of light and fury, their expended energy flowing into injured allies across the near battlefield. The user's allies are almost completely restored even as the user themselves is brought down to their knees, effectively out of the fight. If the fight goes on long, it takes ten posts to recover enough to use Plate abilities once again, and for the rest of the day only at their weakest possible effect, draining stamina twice as fast as they normally would.

Lux Extasis: Based on [Sol Cannon], [Eruption], and [Stockpile], this ability can only be used once per thread. The user begins to charge themselves with elemental energy and can only do so during either high noon, Sunny Day, Dawn's Radiance, or Drought. When ready to release this dangerous amount of stored energy, the user will lift one hand to the sky and the energy will pulse freely from their palm into a massive and roaring ball of bluish-white fire and light. Even fired immediately the beam is as strong as any Hyper Beam. With each round charged, it grows half-again as powerful, twice as wide, and gains even greater reach. After releasing the stored and compounded energy, the user is left depleted of their ability to call on their elemental energy for as long as they spent charging the attack. The beam of light and fire will typically disintegrate anything it touches, and set alight anything able to resist being torn apart by the wildly-surging energies and matter-destroying plasma. This includes allies in the blast.

Martyr's Stigmata: Building from [Healing Light], [Pain Split], and [Heal Bell], the user extends a ray of light to a suffering ally and then takes on some of their wounds to alleviate their injuries, before a minor burst of healing energy envelops both the user and the target, reinvigorating both. Repairs physical damage and cures status effects.

Master Elemental Kinesis: Can only be earned through years of practice, familiarity, and creative usage of the user's plate's most basic of effects. The humble, and relatively useless elemental kinesis. With this constant usage and training, the user has strengthened this basic, minor effect into something approaching full, versatile at-will control over their element in its natural form, making it almost as strong as another built and trained technique with far more fluidity at the cost of sheer power.

Parley: Based on [Castigate], [Disable], and [Covet] those with drawn and held weapons find their weapon(s) becomes impossible to hold, and it slips from their grasp for the turn due to a field of elemental light coating it. Those who have yet to draw a weapon instead find the sheathed or holstered weapon covered in the same sort of elemental field, unable to grasp the weapon in order to draw it free. Without the ability to telekinetically wield the weapon, it cannot be held onto or drawn until next turn. The user may maintain this ability each round in lieu of using other abilities in order to keep such weapons encased in the forcefield, unable to be physically held. Failing to maintain this ability each round, such as using another ability, will end this usage. Affects allies and enemies.

Praise the Sun: Passive ability based on [Glow], [Acupressure], and [Growth]. When in combat, the user's body and overall power waxes and wanes with the position of the sun in the sky. If it is night, the user is at their minimal ability before other considerations. They retain this state until the sun progresses to full dawn or more. When dawn is reached, the user's body begins to fill with greater energy, becoming more sturdy and faster. As the sun drifts across the sky towards its apex the user's body will become physically stronger, their elemental energies and stamina growing in proportion. At noon, the user is at their utmost peak - their body is in superhuman condition in regards to the user's physical and elemental ability: they are somewhat larger, much faster, stronger, and hardier than before (Master: Doubled parameters at noon, +10% at dawn or dusk). As noon recedes, so too does the enhanced power start to wane. Can be temporarily achieved through the use of Dawn's Radiance during the day to artificially create noon. Using Dawn's Radiance at night will temporarily treat the user as though it were dawn.

Sol Invictus: A passive ability based on [Glow], [Endure], and [Recover]. Once per day, when the user would be slain or knocked unconscious in combat, they are instead bathed in otherworldly light, settling around their body as a glowing mantle complete with a blindingly bright halo spinning behind their back. Their body is repaired, healing from recent damages gained in the combat. The most dangerous wounds are repaired first, life-threatening and crippling injuries healing themselves immediately. This healing cannot be prevented.

Unique Abilities_______________________________________
└-Powers unique to the character.

All-Seeing Light: An ability combining her powers as a blessed of Arceus and an Aura Guardian, Celeste is able to concentrate for a moment to sense for and see through wherever light exists within a large radius around herself in a location she is familiar with. Cannot be used in combat. Typically used to maintain that reputation of knowing everything that goes on at her school. Can be as simple as the light from a cell phone screen. At Master level, Celeste is capable of seeing those who defy or bend light in its presence, making her capable of viewing the invisible or the stealthed so long as light is or should be falling upon them otherwise.

Beatification: Through a great deal of meditation and understanding of her Plate and its abilities, with more experience in the matter than any who walk this Earth, Celeste has created an ability to further assist those who fight in her name, and by proxy fight for Arceus' sake. Beatification is an ability combining her Reliquary of the Dawn, Auratic, and one miscellaneous ability into an alternate usage. With this power, Celeste is capable of bestowing a Novice level of one of her abilities, either binding it into an artifact (no object can hold more than one such ability), or imbuing it into a living person. In the case of the latter, such a person undergoes Beatification through a day-long ritual, becoming Enshrined. Once so imbued, the Enshrined individual is referred to as a Living Saint. This is accompanied by the appearance of wings of light allowing flight-like levitation for short distances. Celeste can currently maintain [Expert: 10] Living Saints.

Prominence (Elemental Blade): Prominence is a four foot long blade composed of brilliant light and all-consuming fire. The blade is cast from Celeste's conviction to stand at the forefront of her empire despite her personal desires - the sacrifice of self to be the shining beacon she is needed to be. The weapon itself is comprised of [Zodiac Blade] and [Eruption], giving it the ability to inflict lingering blindness for one round on struck foes, and to immediately light them aflame if Celeste so chooses, with the flames growing hotter the more damaged she is. Prominence was the first of the Elemental Blades, making it the oldest and strongest to date. Celeste does not like to expose her blade in true combat, as some overlooked foe familiar with her family's intentionally veiled past might recognize its existence and draw conclusions as to her true nature.

Reincarnation: At a low point in her first life, Celeste nearly lost her sister to the Great Enemy. It was through a hoarse, whispered prayer so fervent and sincere that it blasted away the distance between simple woman and god that Arceus' intervention was rendered. She promised herself to his service, to spread his word, to do his deeds, to bring others into his light, for all eternity if she must - if only she could save her little sister from the corruption driving her mind and soul. Arceus granted her the power to aid her treasured sibling, and held her to her promise, delivering his blessing upon both that they might walk through history's length and breadth, to prepare others for the coming times. When slain or dying of disease or old age, Celeste and Luna's souls and minds are separated from their bodies by divine will, and held in Arceus' afterlife to soothe the pains and aches of another life lived and ended - there to wait for its sister soul. When both souls are held side by side, and allowed time to refresh, they are sent back to the world, born again from a suitable mother carrying their bloodline. Their memories gradually awaken as they reach puberty, and it takes several years to sort through once fully returned, but their minds from each life prior remain intact.

Reliquary of the Dawn: Based on [Glow] and <varies>, this ability permanently imbues objects with some of the user's elemental energies. The secondary basing of this ability depends entirely on the effect in question. No one object can have more than (Master: 3) effects placed in it at a time. There is a certain amount of synergy involved in the intended use of the object and the effects able to be placed on it. A suit of cold weather clothing can be imbued to generate heat and/or ward cold. Armor can be made to reduce damage. A weapon can inflict malus or extra damage to an opponent. Glasses might give the ability to see in the dark or resist light blindness (very useful for allies of Light Plate users). The object should be listed with the owner and what effects are placed on it. These effects can be dispelled by the Light Plate user at any time, though the energy placed within is lost harmlessly and does not return to the Light Plate user. Incredibly difficult to advance as a skill.

Symbol of Justice: A passive ability based on [Glow], [Acupressure], and [Strength], combined with Celeste's masterful control over Aura. Multiplicatively scales Celeste's physical and spiritual parameters in accordance to the threat she faces. Only active against an opponent or opponents who are, in total, more powerful than herself. As the threat decreases, so too does Celeste's increased level of power. Emergency ability, depending on plateau of strength will erode the user's well-being when active for too long. Requires understanding and acknowledgement that a threat is greater than she is currently capable of dealing with. Symbol of Justice has a far greater effect on physical parameters such as speed, defense, and strength than it does for spiritual parameters, which does not scale as swiftly or highly as the physical.

Artifacts_______________________________________________
└-Elementally-infused items created through Reliquary of the Dawn.

Zenith: Celeste's personal axe. The weapon is clearly sized to be used in two hands, but designed for use in one. The balance is heavy in the head, shaped like a stylized half of Arceus' holy symbol overlaying an equally stylized sun. The core metal is elemental light-forged maraging steel, with the head's edge (Arceus' holy symbol) being fine-shaped diamond capped with martensite. This is the weapon that Celeste never takes down from the display above the desk in her 'throne room/headmistress office'. The sun that makes up the core of the axe's head tends to glow in slow pulses, as if following Celeste's breathing. Referred to as a 'conversation piece' and appears far too heavy to wield.
-(Shining Ray) + (Chip Away)- Zenith has an easier time slicing through physical and supernatural defenses than its masterpiece construction suggests, rending stone and metal and flesh and energies alike with its cleaving arcs. Supernatural energy effects offer limited resistance, only other artifacts are capable of weathering its blows fully. Mundane defenses need not apply.
-(Bestow) + (Lock On)- Zenith can be called to Celeste from any distance at physics-defying speeds, though within a mile it can be automatically teleported to her hand.

Peytral: Celeste's gorget, sealed around her neck at all times and lacquered gold, it is actually a ring of gem-like carbon made to appear as an ostentatious piece of jewellery, sporting a large amethyst at the front. It is decorated with sweeping etches and inlays, fit for a queen.
-(Foresight) + (Protect)- As long as she is within natural or supernatural light, Celeste cannot be struck by mundane projectiles. Supernatural or supernaturally-impregnated missiles retain a 50% chance to strike as normal.
-(Attract) + (Happy Hour)- People who find Celeste physically and/or intellectually appealing are more inclined to agree with her than the usual psychological effect this has on the human mind. This is not an ability which directly acts upon people affected by it, nor does it cause notable personality or thought-pattern changes - as such, it is not detectable and does not arouse suspicion.

Burden: Celeste's tiara, a well-smithed crown settled in under her hair, with a set of impressively large amethysts in each spike of the piece. While plain in detailing, it completes her look rather flawlessly.
-(Play Nice) + (Safeguard)- Those attempting to influence Celeste's thoughts and emotions, or those attempting to invade or read her mind are blocked. Each attempt alerts Celeste through a short-lived sympathetic bond, identifying the person making the attempt and discouraging further attempts.
-(Defense Curl) + (Safeguard)- The Burden can never be removed from Celeste by happenstance or force, it can only be taken off through her own will.
