History seems to be so clumsy. wrote:

Champ [Male Bulbasaur] - Walk away. That's what you do.
In spite of the fact that it was expected that Bulbasaur would be lazy, lethargic, and effortless, he has proven to be a true, lovable companion for Duke who has had Bulbasaur by his side for about two years now since his older brother (who is currently abroad) gave him his Bulbasaur as he could not get it to behave itself when he was away. Duke is hopeful that Champ will develop into a fantastic Ivysaur. Champ will be able to stand out from the crowd and be recognized quickly and easily.
-Received from Farley Bamford.

Ability: Overgrow
Move Pool: Sleep Powder, Leaf Storm, Sludge Bomb, Hidden Power

Isaac [Male Kecleon] - You're caught in a corner, with nowhere to hide.
A harsh argument between Duke and his mother led him on an adventure that led to the discovery of Isaac. In the past few years, Duke had changed significantly as an adult, according to his mother. As he journeyed with Champ through the thick wildernesses toward Fortree City, he tripped over something he couldn't see. Duke threw a ball in anger after Isaac appeared suddenly in absolute hysterics. In spite of his surprise, Isaac still finds it funny. His plastic sand bucket is designed for kids, and he always carries it with him. During a summer festival, Duke purchased it for him. The spade was promptly thrown into the sea, much to Duke's dismay.
-Captured at Route 119.

Ability: Color Change
Move Pool: Magic Coat, Snatch, Sucker Punch, Focus Punch, Screech

I think space will be conquered through the mind rather than the clumsy medium of space travel. wrote:There is no doubt that Duke is extremely self-conscious about himself, especially when it comes to his hair - the way it looks is one of his biggest obsessions. It is shiny and dark in color, unlike the rest of his family members who are mainly brunettes and blondes, with almost none of them having very dark hair. It is an intentional decision on his part to have a 'messy' or 'scruffy' (as it is often referred to) hairstyle for the simple reason that he can't do a lot else with the hair due to its thickness.

He usually wears a simple navy blue cardigan with a black v-stripe that crosses his torso with a simple black t-shirt underneath. The cargo pants he usually dresses in are gray or black, but he switches between them and jeans in grey, black, or tan. When others get wet, muddy, or whatever, this is what happens. He wears shoes that are a shade of wood brown, but they are made of soft leather and have a modern design. Basically, they are leather sneakers.

If a ballet dancer falls over - it's knowing how to get out looking clumsy that counts. wrote:Duke has a tendency to be hot headed, brash, and jump to conclusions very quickly at times. It is almost always the case that he takes things wrongly, taking them personally and offensively. People sometimes take a bit too long to express themselves, especially when they are awkward.

He has a very negative, that's-not-fair attitude when it comes to injustice, which often gets him into more trouble than it helps him out of. He's usually ridiculed for answering back when he should just shut up. However, now that he's entering his twenties, his freedom of speech and ability to respond and retaliate will be useful.

If my life was a song the title would probably be 'Clumsy' - 'cause I'm clumsy. wrote:

Name: Francine Bamford - Like a dream, the sky is falling.
Age: 48
Gender: Female
Relationship: Mother
Trainer Orientation: Neutral Lawful
Trainer Class: Dame

In spite of the fact that Francine is a peaceful woman, she is also zany in nature. While her zaniness makes her look like a bit of a fruit loop in public and among friends in social situations, the one thing that no one can admit about her is that she hates her life - because she simply does not. It is a habit of hers to look around suspiciously at people and then judge them based on what she sees with her eyes. Her Poké Ball is always with her, even though she is not a trainer herself. This is just in case she is ambushed by anyone, be it Team Aqua or Magma, or even just some renegade trainers. Albeit what she does after that is anyone's guess.

Name: Judith Clarkson - Is it you who's talking?
Age: 69
Gender: Female
Relationship: Grandmother
Trainer Orientation: Chaotic Lawful
Trainer Class: Elder

She is a retired adventurer herself. She used to travel with her husband, who has since passed away, throughout the Hoenn lands and its surrounding areas when they were together. In place of that, she now speaks to spirits in the afterlife - for what purpose nobody knows - in the company of her daughter and grandson, for whom she speaks. There is a very sinister and secretive side to her that no one dares to look at because she is so powerful and mysterious. To conclude, it is evident that Judith is a person who would do anything to provide for her family and those she cares about. It is for this reason that she has such a strong bond with Duke, her grandson.

Name: Farley Bamford - Can I take these words away?
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Relationship: Brother
Trainer Orientation: Lawful Evil
Trainer Class: Adventurer

Stunningly similar in appearance and behaviour to Duke, it is obvious that Francine wasn't having it on with the milkman. There is no doubt that Farley is a caring young man, but he also recognizes that being independent is the right path for him. A large part of his life has been spent locked up in Lilycove City. He is striving to see the world and open his own eyes now that he has been out of it for quite some time. There is no doubt that he will have the support of his brother and grandmother. However, his mother is still cautious about a lad like him venturing out on his own. As of right now, Farley has had no traveling companions except his Pokémon for the past few years and has not experienced any difficulties along the way. There are a number of Pokémon that he has captured and viewed over the years, but oddly, he travels only with one - his ever loyal Arbok.

A malicious enemy is better than a clumsy friend. wrote:Neither Duke's father nor his much older brother (not Farley, another man who is believed to have been killed along with Duke's father) played a major role in Duke's upbringing, and neither did Farley to be fair. When they were children, the two played together, but Farley is four years older than him. As a result, he never really had much time for him either. This is the reason he would always be doing something at some point in the course of his life. As soon as he was born, Farley started school. As Farley changed schools, Duke began his studies at the same time. Duke changed schools when Farley reached the age of adolescence. When Duke reached his teens, Farley entered adulthood, and so on and so forth.

During his childhood, Duke was one of the most popular children in his class. He had a broad selection of male and female friends who would all cluster together at both school and outside of it. Despite the excellent company, everybody left soon after school to pursue a career or to further their education in order to enter into a more challenging field. The majority of people who dropped out became Pokémon Trainers as a career choice. It was because of his family's financial situation that Duke stayed at home. As a result, he was unable to afford to move and there were no job opportunities for him in the area. He decided he could help win money from Pokémon Tournaments or Battles.

Unlike every other school kid, Duke didn't really show any interest in Pokémon until he was in his early teen years. He also never really showed much interest in them when he was a very young kid. Before he left home to relocate to The Sevii Islands, Farley gave away his unruly Bulbasaur to him. This was to give him a taste of what he was missing. As a result, he made new friends, gained companionship, learned new things, gained some new traits, and gained a boatload of new experiences around Lilycove City.

Among all of Duke's family members, his grandmother seems to be the one with whom he gets along very well. In addition to her very negative and scornful nature, she also possesses a very pessimistic bent to her as well. Her favorite phrase is 'if anything can go wrong, it probably will', and it is a phrase she often repeats to herself. The fact of the matter is that, even though he isn't the most positive person, he always has a great deal of determination within him no matter what. In order to ensure that nothing can go wrong, he will make sure that everything is done in a proper manner.

I just had a clumsy moment. wrote:The woman's Gloom glared back at Isaac who was jumping to and from his left and right foot with excitement and eagerness. It just stared at him as the woman proceeded to dance like a ballerina on one foot. She swayed with the gentle breeze, her perfume wavering in the wind.

The Gloom still refused to do a thing as the Kecleon readied his Screech attack. He inhaled oh so heavily and instead of an expected exhale, a high-pitched, awful sound emerged from Isaac's voice.

The Gloom's eyes widened and immediately spun around in an attempt to flee. It ran off, nowhere to be seen as the Aroma Lady covered her ears at the sound. She huffed and melted into a frown. She called out for her Gloom who was now long gone.
