Volcarona [Female]
Yuuna's sole Pokémon, Volcarona serves as a multi-tool of sorts, providing offensive firepower, transportation, and intelligence-gathering as necessary. Volcarona is prideful and shares Yuuna's never-back-down personality traits; her sheer power is what allows her to not be completely overwhelmed when facing type disadvantages. Originally a stray, invasive Larvesta found on the campus of Mahora by her father, the young Yuuna--in her then-fascination with all things strange and not girly--was greatly amused by the little fire moth larva and claimed it for herself before her father could take it to a Pokémon shelter. Because of this act that saved her from potential euthanizing, Volcarona is very attached to Yuuna, and is known from time to time to travel by clinging to the back of Yuuna's armor.
Received from Professor Akashi.

Ability: Flame Body
Move Pool: Hurricane, Rage Powder, Fly, Heat Wave, Silver Wind, Fire Spin, Fire Blast, Incinerate, U-Turn, Flame Charge

That's a bingo! wrote:Wild and rambunctious, the primary facet of Yuuna's personality is the basic lack of capacity to be cowed by overwhelming odds. Yuuna will never back down from a fight, no matter how much she should, and gives absolutely every ounce of effort to everything she does in her life. She is not, however, stupid, and rejecting fear of overwhelming odds does not mean she will senselessly engage in hopeless battles. Aside from this, she's a generally happy person, and can always be seen with an amused smirk, if not a full-on grin, on her face. Her hobbies consist of military history, basketball, video games, and miniature modeling. Her modeling pride is a World War II-era city battle that she's been steadily adding things to that don't belong, like vehicles and infantry from the Halo games.

When leading Cleric Team, her personality is completely different. She is more than capable of crafting exceptional small-unit battle strategies on the fly, adapting to and improvising for changing circumstances, but unfortunately she is often too hyperactive to engage in much strategy beyond "put bullets into the bad guys until they fall over." Very much a battlefield leader, she is always at the forefront of any charge that Cleric Team leads.

I sense a trap. Next move? wrote:Almost no exposition of Yuuna's early life has been given, but it is safe to assume that she was born at Mahora Academy. Her mother died assisting victims of the Great Hanshin Earthquake when Yuuna was four. Her mother's dying wish had been that Yuuna be protected, and her father interpreted that the best way to do so would be to remove Yuuna from the heritage that had been the cause of her mother's death.

At an unknown point in her childhood years, she took a liking for basketball, which her father encouraged as the distraction kept her from asking the painful and awkward questions about her mother and why she didn't remember her early childhood. She was a rambunctious and rowdy child, establishing her place as a tomboy early on. It was during these early years that she developed her friendships with Makie, Ako, and Akira, becoming the famed 'Sports Girls' of the future Class 3-A.

Her interest in video games didn't come about until after the release of Halo 2, at which point she developed a fascination with the series, returning to the original Halo: Combat Evolved and becoming engrossed with the franchise, catching every new game at release date at midnight releases. This also led to her joining the 'Fireteam Charlie' cosplay group during her later school years.

As with the vast majority of her classmates, Yuuna entered Mahora All-Girls' Middle School in Class 1-A. The first middle school year was unremarkable, the second and third years becoming more marked in the events that occurred, including the arrival of Negi Springfield to teach the class. Though initially expressing as much interest in the boy teacher as the rest of her classmates, the novelty of having a child teacher faded rather swiftly for her.

During the field trip to Kyoto, Yuuna was placed in a mixed group with Makie, a hitherto-unknown student known only by his given name, Claude, and Chisame Hasegawa. Yuuna's bisexual nature was revealed, first by her favorable response to flirtations from her future partner, Hotaru Kobayashi, and second by a situation in which she found herself forced to confess to her romantic interest of the time, who happened to be Makie.

Makie rejected Yuuna's confession as gently as she could, which Yuuna has stated is the only reason they remained friends. She did not have to suffer an awkward silence, however, as at that exact moment, Konoka Konoe, who was in the cafeteria as well, was kidnapped by a renegade group of the Kansai Onmyoudo Association. Yuuna was the first to respond, pursuing the kidnapper into the lobby of the hotel, where she collided with a hotel staff's luggage rack. She swiftly recovered and challenged the kidnapper, who summoned an Ursaring and Infernape to stall her. Negi, Hotaru, and Katerine Bayischerwald--who was along on the trip as a chaperone--arrived at Makie's calling, and Hotaru and Katerine engaged the two Pokémon, allowing Yuuna and Negi to slip past and continue their pursuit.

The two tracked the kidnapper to the nearby train station, where Hotaru and Katerine caught up with them, then the four prepared themselves to engage an unknown enemy force. Negi, first to advance into the station, discovered that the floor had been trapped as a frictionless surface that prevented standard movement. As Negi used his Swellow to disperse the fine particles making up the trap, he was shot by a hidden sniper with a rubber bullet. The enemy then projected an ice barrier via an Abomasnow to bar the would-be rescuers' path, and Yuuna recognized that the semi-transparent ice would provide not only excellent cover but a good vantage point from which to locate the sniper. Utilizing a travel bag she had taken from the luggage rack, she threw a silver shaving gel can to fool the enemy into believing she was throwing a flashbang grenade, and then dove into cover behind the ice barrier when the enemy looked away to prevent the blindness associated with a flashbang device. From there, she located the position of the sniper and relayed that information back to Katerine, who eliminated the sniper with an expert shot from her MFAR-12C Magnum.

Hotaru and Katerine set out to confront the kidnapper before they could escape aboard a train, while Yuuna stayed behind with the injured Negi. With the fighting over and her adrenaline levels abating, the memory of Makie's rejection began to return to Yuuna, causing her distress. Katerine and Hotaru returning without having rescued Konoka compounded Yuuna's negative mood, adding feelings of guilt and failure to the mix. Hotaru comforted Yuuna and made overtures of a potential future relationship, but Negi's Musharna erased Yuuna's and Hotaru's memories of the events which had occurred. This greatly angered Katerine, who promised that if Negi attempted to erase her memory again, she would cut him to pieces and mail him back to England.

At an unspecified point between the Kyoto field trip and the Mahora Festival, Yuuna, due to her love of the Halo games, joined the Mahora Military Enthusiasts' Club - Fireteam Charlie cosplay club that was jointly operated by the Electronic Gaming Club and the Military Enthusiasts' Club. Lorenzo Ruiz, the acting commander of Fireteam Charlie, allowed Yuuna to join despite being too young to join the University-level club in part because of the favorable reports of the Kyoto Incident received from his subordinate, Katerine.

She proved her worth as a competent small-unit commander during a number of simulation airsoft and woods paintball games, which prompted Lorenzo to reorganize the club slightly, creating an elite "Helljumper Division" whose members were allowed to cosplay as ODSTs. He created three elite teams, which he named Grammaton, Cleric, and Tetra in reference to the movie Equilibrium.

Yuuna was placed in charge of Cleric Team, where her talent at small-unit tactics and her likable personality swiftly won her the affection and loyalty of the other, older students placed in her team. Cleric Team, being the first full unit, has come to be seen as the face of the Mahora Mage Knights Defense Brigade. Remaining in command of Cleric Team throughout her school career, Yuuna followed the Military Enthusiasts' Club's Students-to-Soldiers program, enlisting in the Rota Self-Defense Force along with the rest of Cleric Team. The group was reunited as a special forces team following basic military training, and have served with distinction in the years since.

I'm an unrepentant gamer with no life outside of games and basketball. wrote:Regular Abilities______________________________________

MAHORANS! WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSION? wrote:Weapons_________________________________________________
└-Weapon and munitions.

Misriah Industries MI12E/SOCOM: The MI12E/SOCOM variant is a special issued handgun to special operations units. In lieu of the KFA-2 sight used on the MI12D PDWS, the MI12E/SOCOM utilizes the VnSLS/V 6E smart linked 4x scope, enabling the user to eliminate targets at long range while incurring limited recoil due to the integral sound suppressor and compensator. It fires M228 12.7mmx40mm (.50 caliber) SAP-HP ammunition from a twelve-round magazine. It has a considerably high rate of fire with an long effective range, being able to hit a target accurately at about fifty meters. Yuuna wields paired SOCOMs modified with match-grade triggers that significantly increase her rate of fire.

Armor___________________________________________________
└-Armor, shielding, and wearables.

HELJUMPR Armor: The Hardened-Enclosed Light Jettison-Utility Multi-Purpose Reactive composite bodysuit armor is made up of several different layers and materials, the inner layer of the black-gray undersuit is made up of Kevlar material to aid in protecting the wearer from small arms fire, the inner layer also contains a heating and cooling system which regulates temperatures to keep the user warm or cool depending on the weather conditions. The heating and cooling system can also match infrared signatures of the current weather as well to allow the wearer to go undetected in hostile locations. The outer layer of the undersuit is coated with a heat resistant material to aid in reducing temperatures. The body suit also doubles as a pressure suit to allow the wearer to perform EVA. The outer shell layer is comprised of titanium and ceramic composite armor plating that covers the chest, shoulders, legs and feet. Given it's name and damn close look to a particular armor from a particular video game, users of it have taken to calling it ODST armor. Typically issued in black with a blue VISR, Yuuna's armor sports the crest of Mahora Academy on the center of the chest plate and purple highlighting.

And that's when stupid came to visit again. We're great pals, stupid and me. wrote:All eyes were on Yuuna and her squad as the gunslinger girl moved to the back of the milling crowd of defenders and looked down the long road toward the lake shore, woefully empty but for the debris of the battle: crumbled remnants of half-broken buildings, discarded weapons scattered about, and in the distance, milling idly, the last vestiges of the droid army. The area the enemy occupied was shrouded in darkness; whether it was from a power grid failure or—more likely—just the battle damage having destroyed everything down there that gave off light was unknown, but the glowing of their optical sensors in the darkness and the muted thumping of their moving about made their presence all the more chilling.

"Ahead lies the soulless army of science and malice," Stromric's voice said from almost right in her ear, prompting her to jump and nearly crawl out of her armor. "Behind, the battered warriors of nobility and humanity. And here you stand, leader of that army, caught in between. Such a weight has broken lesser men."

Turning to her left, Yuuna depolarized her visor and fixed the blond man with a sour gaze. "Are you just going to be here to show me up again? Got a bigger army hiding up your sleeve?"

Smiling innocently, the man shrugged. "I simply want to see what you'll do now that you've put yourself in such a high-profile position."

The gunslinger girl smirked, then turned the rest of the way and caught the eye of a student running about towing a wheelbarrow full of magic weapons, busily ensuring that everyone who was going to fight was armed. "Weapon!" she called, holding out her left hand.

Stopping in his tracks, the student regarded her for a moment, then dug through his pile of magic weapons and selected one of the wide-barreled grenade-type magic pistols, tossing it at Yuuna. Catching it by the barrel in her free hand, she twirled it until she had a comfortable, proper grip on it, then glanced back toward Stromric, polarizing her visor as she simply said, "I aim to misbehave."
