Mozzarella [Male Cradily]Grinding the mozzarella, opening the cans of tomatoes and, of course, delivering the pies.
Mozza was Yew's first Pokémon, given to him by his father when he was four. Then a Lileep, the two grew up and grew very close during Yew's youth. Mozzarella is Yew's strongest fighter and is very loyal to the boy. In battle, Mozza can be a bit of a jokester in that he likes to play around in a fight and focus on having fun while he's battling. Out of battle, that attitude is worse, in that he's liberal with his joker attributes.
—Received in Agate Village from Larch Barkley.

Ability: Storm Drain
Nature: Impish
Move Pool: Earthquake, Energy Ball, Hidden Power (Fire), Recover, Rock Slide, Seed Bomb, Stealth Rock, Stone Edge, Swords Dance, Toxic

Tomato [Female Weepinbell]If life deals you lemons, make lemonade. If it deals you tomatoes, make Bloody Marys.
Anything but a pushover, Tomato is another of Yew's best fighters. A gift from Tim when he first joined the Gym, Tomato hasn't been with Yew as long as others, but she's warmed up to the boy's easy personality in that she's also rather calm and laid back. Tomato is wise enough to make good battle decisions and not get into more than she can handle. On the other hand, though, she hasn't trained enough as some of Tim's own Pokémon to really know all the tricks of the trade yet. ...Yet.
—Received in Agate Village from Tim Leighton.

Ability: Chlorophyll
Nature: Calm
Move Pool: Encore, Growth, Hidden Power (Ice), Leaf Blade, Return, Sleep Powder, Sludge Bomb, Sunny Day, Swords Dance, Weather Ball

Pepper [Female Nidorina] - Epithets, like pepper, give zest to what you write; and if you strew them sparely, they whet the appetite.
Pepper is a saucy little fighter. Headstrong, she takes shit from no one. It's undeniably hard to get her to do something that she doesn't want to do and she's put up the fight of the century if you try to force her into anything less. Still, that brutish attitude makes her something of a decent fighter, so Yew enjoys having her on his team. As it were, she enjoys battling, so that situation is win-win.
—Captured in Obsidian Cave.

Ability: Rivalry
Nature: Sassy
Move Pool: Beat Up, Crunch, Rock Smash, Skull Bash, Take Down

Image
Avocado [Male Nuzleaf]It has a nice crunch to it, which is a contrast to the soft texture of the avocado.
Friends with pretty much only Guacamole, with everyone else Avocado is rather shy and introverted. He doesn't enjoy battling as much as Yew wished he did, given that Nuzleaf and their evolution are decent fighters, so Yew isn't pressuring him into it very quickly. Nevertheless, Avocado knows enough that he understands Yew wants him to fight for good reasons and so he does try to battle every now and then for the boy.
—Captured on Route O1.

Ability: Chlorophyll
Nature: Serious
Move Pool: Dark Pulse, Faint Attack, Giga Drain, Nasty Plot, Razor Leaf, Razor Wind, Rock Slide, Seed Bomb, Shadow Ball, Swords Dance

Image
Guacamole [Male Lotad]It's the secret for beautiful guacamole or fruit salad.
Playful and young, Guacamole is Yew's youngest and most unseasoned fighter. Friends with Avocado, Yew typically uses them against first time Gym challengers or in double battles together because Guacamole entices Avocado to fight better. Cheerful for the most part, Guacamole is pleased to do his job for Yew. Often times, the small Lotad can be seen riding Yew's shoulder.
—Captured on Route O1.

Ability: Swift Swim
Nature: Naive
Move Pool: Energy Ball, Ice Beam, Hidden Power (Rock), Rain Dance, Surf

How can we know the dancer from the dance? wrote:Standing rather tall at six feet, Yew is a tan skinned individual with dark brown hair. Said hair is typically kept in well maintained dread locks that he pulls back into a ponytail. His ears are adorned with piercings, one in each lobe and then another industrial piercing in his right ear. He has a strong jawline, above which are set stony black eyes.

Yew is fond of easy going clothing and does not prefer to wear anything overly restricting. As such, he is typically seen wearing a pair of gray and green sweats with a matching green shirt. When it's cold enough (and it hardly ever is in Orre) he wears a forest green bomber jacket. Additionally, he sometimes wears an assortment of silver and black bracelets or hemp jewelry.

No sane man will dance. wrote:An easy going type of man, Yew prefers to let life be as it wants to be. He believes in the mandate "live and let live" and doesn't see the point in telling others what to do. He'll let people do whatever they want so long as they don't tell him what to do himself.

Yew isn't particularly full of goals or wants himself. He has succeeded in reaching his dream thus far in that he's become a Trainer in a Gym. He does aim to expand his knowledge of dance, and, as such, Pokémon Contests have him intrigued. As for fears, Yew is terrified of the dark and enclosed spaces.

Name: Peach Barkley — I love being at home and cooking and baking.
Age: 54
Gender: Female

The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses — behind the lines and in the gym and out there on the road... long before I dance under those lights. wrote:Born and raised in Agate Village, Yew is used to the small patch of green within the Orre region. Having to live in a sleepy little town, however, means that his loud ways and affinity for unique dance was not always taken well. That being said, Yew got picked on in grade school for being out of the ordinary.

Despite that, he never let such things get to him, especially not after Larch brought home a small Lileep that had been revived from a fossil the man had found in Obsidian Cave. Treasuring the companion, the Lileep and Yew grew together quickly, falling in love with one another as if they were brothers. Yew would eventually name the Pokémon Mozzarella, given that the Pokémon loves the type of cheese.

Eventually, Yew took up a love for battling, fueled by Mozza's love to tussle. Growing to dominate the school ground, Yew found he had a pretty good hand at the tactical needs of such a task. Pairing that up with his break dancing, Yew learned how to incorporate the techniques and methods of dancing into his Pokémon's battle styles. This made for new abilities and maneuvers that many had never seen Pokémon of Yew's party capable of.

That edge eventually caught a hold of the eye of the leader of Agate Village Gym's new Gym Leader, Tim Leighton. Inviting Yew to join the group of Trainers at the Agate Gym, Yew gladly accepted. Upon joining the Gym, Tim gave Yew his newest Pokémon, a Weepinbell named Tomato.

Nowadays, Yew battles Trainers as a preliminary round when they come to challenge Tim. On his days off, he helps his mother at the bakery and has found he has a pretty good hand at making gingersnaps.
