Origami [Male Ninjask] — Like paper origami, it is possible to fold multiple times.
Ivan's starter and most loyal Pokémon, Origami is always seen at Ivan's side. Ivan never keeps the Ninjask in his Poké Ball. Given to Ivan at a young age by his father when he first entered training under Koga's styles. Origami is a bit of a failure at most things, but is still a decent enough fighter... He tries his best to prove himself to Ivan and all those around him.

Cyclone [Male Accelgor] — In some places it's known as a tornado. In others, a cyclone.
If Ivan had to fight, it would be Cyclone that he would send out first. Cyclone is the most decent fighter that Ivan has. Strong and fast, Cyclone hits them hard and takes them down as quickly as possible. He was given to Ivan by Keith to protect him when they were first getting to know him. Cyclone takes that job very seriously...

Helperides [Shedinja] — Not one missing, still transcendent.
Helperides is the remaining shell left over from when Origami evolved. Peri is pretty useless. Ivan doesn't use him to battle. In fact, Ivan isn't sure what he should use Peri for at all. Peri is kind of... just there. And Ivan is okay with that. Peri has a strong liking for Keith, also, and often tries to float above the other man's head.

Namchara [Male Zorua] — Just because it would make me something other than cute.
Given to Ivan when the boy moved in with him in Castelia, Namchara is more of a pet than anything. Namchara often rides tucked into Ivan's half-zipped jacket and refuses adamantly to even get near a battlefield. Namchara sleeps with Ivan no matter what, and, like Origami, he refuses to stay in a Poké Ball.

Short of stature, Ivan stands a motley five feet, five inches tall, barely taller than some girls. With white blonde hair, he sports a boy-ish, layered hair cut that shades his violet colored eyes. His jawline is soft and round, still more of a boy's cut than a man's.

Ivan is fond of loose, non-obstructing clothes. Typically he wears a black tank top and green cargo pants. Over top of this he wears a purple jacket with origami and kimono logos as well as the word "Japan" on it. He is incredibly fond of this jacket and he takes it with him wherever he goes. Other than that, Ivan wears a pair of tan boots and a silver necklace. The charm on the necklace used to be a shuriken, but now a feather also accompanies the original charm.

Ivan is a very shy, introverted individual. He is also afflicted with incredibly low self-esteem. He puts himself down more often than not, typically bad talking his abilities and strengths as a person. He's quiet, not one to talk to others until spoken to, and even then he gives pretty short responses.

When he's around his boyfriend, Keith, he becomes a typical puppy dog, shadowing the older man. Ivan is very embarrassed by his involvement with Keith, but he loves the other man dearly, despite their ages. In short? Ivan is the most adorable, shy little ninja that could have been conceived.

Having trained under Koga's ways in Fuchsia, Valentin is not native to Kanto. He moved his family to Kanto to train in the first place. He loves his son dearly, but he doesn't see why Ivan can't be a better Trainer or ninja. He doesn't particularly approve of Keith.

Liza is a very loving person and probably the best mother one could ever hope for. She loves Ivan very much and she loves Keith like he was her own son. She is not a ninja like her son and husband, preferring to remain a housewife, as is her wont.

Born in Fuchsia City, Ivan is actually of Slavic descent. Ivan's family moved to Fuchsia City before he was born. The only son Valentin and Lizaveta ever had, it is safe to say that Valentin at the least expect a lot from Ivan. Ivan himself remembers being inducted into the ninja training academy of sorts found in Fuschia City when he was four. As such, he has been trained in the ways of ninjutsu for most of his life.

That isn't to say, however, that Ivan spent all of his time training. While he takes to heart the ways of stealth and the abilities of ninja, the boy did not spend all his time in Fuchsia. While never having many friends, Ivan took a vacation trip to Vermilion with his parents when he was fourteen. There, Ivan managed to get himself lost in the sprawling port city. Wandering alone and rather scared, he happened to turn down an alleyway in hopes of finding his parents.

Instead, he ran into a group of local thugs. Deciding it would be a good idea to extort Ivan's parents for money, they swooped in on the little ninja. Trying to get away, and failing due to being completely out numbered, not even his abilities at hand-to-hand combat could help him against sheer numbers. Shoved against a wall and expecting to be beaten within an inch of his life, Ivan was faintly surprised to find a Pokémon he had never seen before at his rescue.

The Pokémon was an Accelgor and its Trainer was one Ryan-Keith, who was in Vermilion to visit family. As Keith ordered the Accelgor to attack and chase away the thugs, he himself stepped forward and scooped up the terrified ninja. Taking the boy back to the Pokémon Center, he returned him to his family. For the next couple days, while Keith and Ivan spent time in Vermilion, the two began to grow together.

For the next two weeks, they would be near inseparable, and, when the separation did indeed come, it wasn't very pleasant. Keith even left Cyclone, the Accelgor, with Ivan to protect and keep him company. So Keith returned to Castelia and Ivan returned to Fuschia.

Their companionship did not end there. Up until he graduated at sixteen, Keith visited Ivan many times from his home in Castelia. Ivan also took one or two trips to Keith's home in Unova. Needless to say, they developed a relationship despite their significant age gap. Ivan doesn't care how much older Keith is, he loves the man with all his damn heart.

When he did graduate from the academy, he moved in with Keith in Unova and has lived there ever since. He rather likes the hustle and bustle of the large city, enjoying all the nooks and crannies to explore... granted, he's usually hiding behind Keith during his exploration.

Acrobatics: Ivan can keep his balance while traversing narrow or treacherous surfaces. He can also dive, flip, jump, and roll, avoiding attacks and confusing his opponents and attackers. He is skilled in dodging and ducking, much like a typical thief or ninja is. Ivan is also adept at leaping great heights and wall jumping, what is commonly known as free running.

Disguise: Ivan's biggest strength is his ability to disguise himself. This generally sums up to him being extremely adept at make-up and costuming skills. He can literally, with the right get up, make himself look like most others with his frame and stature. This was his strongest suit when he was in the academy, though he personally feels this skill is rather useless.

Escape Artist: When tied or bound, Ivan is adept at slipping the bonds he's in. He is also nimble with his fingers, capable of untying knots when his hands are confined behind his back. This also goes to untying knots on a regular basis, as he is able to do swifter than normal.

Stealth: Ivan is skilled at avoiding detection, allowing him to slip past foes or strike from an unseen position. This skill covers mostly hiding and moving silently. He can move silently enough in most clothing that aren't metallic in nature.

Kunai: Taught in the use of kunai as well as shuriken, Ivan typically uses kunai more similar to knives rather than as projectiles. He is better with shuriken than kunai as a whole, but he is not terrible with their employment.

Shuriken: Much more comfortable with shurkien at a distance than kunai in close quarters, shuriken are Ivan's weapon of choice. He keeps a specialized holster of them at his waist at all times. He is deft at aiming them, but he uses them sparingly, as he only carries so many of the deadly devices.

Keith chuckled and looked up at the jet. It was a display, a stripped down model that they had mounted just inside the base at Castelia. But it was still the same F-22 jet that he flew himself. He grinned and whirled around. Grabbing Ivan by the waist, he lifted the smaller man up so he could get a clear view of the cockpit.

"Wha?!"

"That's where I sit."

"A-ah..."

Keith smiled and set Ivan back down. Wrapping his arms around the smaller blonde from behind, he hugged him close. The boy sighed in content, shifting his weight to lean it against Keith's. Ivan was most comfortable here, in Keith's arms.

"This... is where I belong."
