Doran [Male Nidoking]: Doran began its life with Macintosh as a runty Nidoran who wandered onto the ranch in search of food. Little Mac watched the hungry Pokémon as it sniffed around the grounds and gathered an armful of apples and berries. Even as a young child, Macintosh was quite large for his age, and being as silent as he was upon reaching the Nidoran; had startled it. The Nidoran reacted instinctively, poisoning the human boy with a sharp stab of its horn. Too soon it realized the folly of its quick reaction as Macintosh knelt down and quietly offered the little Pokémon an apple, his face taking on a sheen of sweat as the poison coursed through his veins. It took the apple as it was presented, devouring the crisp fruit just as the solid thump of Macintosh hitting the dust startled its attention back onto the boy. Thinking quickly, it approached the Carver house and began firing needles at the front door and windows, attracting enough attention that the elder Carvers were drawn outside and led to Macintosh's labored form. After recovering from the encounter due to Granny Smith's homestead concotions, the guilty Nidoran and the reserved Macintosh grew to be fast friends, and left with Macintosh when he undertook his Pokémon journey. However, now that Macintosh is grown and had long since returned to the ranch to help out his family - the now-Nidoking mostly assists Macintosh in his duties, and acts as extra security.
Befriended at home on the ranch.

Tiller [Male Mudsdale]: Tiller was caught by Mac during an outing to Alola specifically for the purpose of finding and bringing back a Mudsdale to the ranch for work and breeding stock. Secretly, he also wanted his one vacation to include the old thrill of hunting for and catching a Pokémon, and to bring home another companion in the field. Tiller has a very stoic disposition, the large and sturdy stallion imposing and powerful, but also very easy-going.
Battled and captured in Alola.

Eeyup. wrote:Macintosh tops out at six feet and nine inches tall. His broad chest and broader shoulders cut the figure of man almost larger than life. He possesses blonde/red hair just shy of shoulder-length, a lightly tanned complexion, and soft green eyes under dark blonde eyebrows. A dusting of freckles adorn his cheeks, almost more like ornamentation than anything else. His forearms bear strong, manly hair that almost seems to be kept purposefully neat when not covered in dirt. His face is clean-shaven, as is his chest as he often works without a shirt during the hotter months.

Much like his younger sister, and unlike his baby sister - Mac can be found wearing sturdy jeans and flannel shirts most of the time, though with far less variation than Autumn might. Denim work jeans and a red flannel shirt dominate his wardrobe, leaving little room for things like his formal wear, his old boxing trunks, and his bouncer's uniform. Aside from his clothing, Macintosh owns eight pairs of the same work boots, a pair of loafers for his tuxedo, a pair of jogging sneakers, and his uniform's simple black shoes. On any given day, Mac will appear to never change his clothes - though one look at his extremely similar wardrobe quickly clears up that notion. He can usually be found sporting a chain bearing a large green Macintosh apple image on it around his neck, the only gift he'd kept from one of his few fans.

Eenope. wrote:Macintosh tends to be a very quiet and reserved man, speaking using as few words as possible when he can help it. Some come to believe he's being dismissive, while others label him as simple-minded due to this particular quirk. In fact, Macintosh speaks so little because there is that much less chance to be misunderstood or unintentionally tell a lie when you're not tripping over all those unnecessary words. Prior to meeting his Nidoran, Macintosh was almost reclusive - he liked to paint and read, climb trees and relax with the Pokémon on the ranch. After meeting his new friend, the small Pokémon's energetic nature rubbed off on the boy, and it was said that during his Pokémon journey 'Little Mac' was quite the loud hothead.

Certainly, things have changed. Nearing his thirtieth birthday, the grown man has once again become quiet, but in a reflective and worldly-understanding manner. His deep-running wisdom comes in handy as he deals with what life sends the way of himself and his sisters, doing what he can to assist his family on the Carver land - and more often than not assisting his little sisters in their troubles as quietly and unobtrusively as possible. A deep and abiding sense of integrity, familial devotion, and a deep mind describe Macintosh on most days. But threaten his family or show him injustice that he cannot stand for, and the towering gentle giant's righteous anger knows no bounds. Woe betide any so foolish as to lay hands on his little sisters before him.

Y'all want ta hear a story? wrote:Macintosh was born to Jack and Maddie Carver during a particularly warm summer, the firstborn in a set of what would be three siblings later on. The first four years of his life were spent as a small, only child happily living together with his busy but family-oriented parents and his grandmother. He was settled into a comfortable homeschool-format which would last him for most of his education, and learned as well as could be expected for his age. Sometime after his fourth birthday, his first little sister came into the world - causing something of an adjustment period for the child.

His new little sister grew just as he did, maturing from a toddler into young lad soon enough. His studies also changed with his age, beginning to include instructions on how to manage the ranch and its lands and various assets. Being the eldest, Little Mac was groomed from an early age to take over in his parents' footsteps, an idea which delighted him at first and he made sure to show his enthusiasm for the idea. It was during learning to care for the animals and Pokémon in general on the ranch that Mac had his first run-in with a wild Pokémon, the small Nidoran whose encounter left him pricked full of toxins. Already a strapping lad, and with his first Pokémon - the eleven-year-old Macintosh finally dreamed of something more, his Nidoran's behavior seeming to rub off on him. By the time Alyssa was born, 'Little Mac' had decided that being tied to the ranch the rest of his life just wasn't worth what he'd be missing out on, and so he all but ran - declaring his intent to depart for the unknown as he went out the door.

So began Macintosh's Pokémon journey. He caught several more Pokémon along the way, and made a passable trainer for the new additions to his team, though they lacked the friendship he shared with Doran. For five years, Macintosh battled through the wilds with naught but his wits, boots, luck, and knife to aid him and his traveling team of up-and-coming Pokémon. The many losses peppered over the years slowly taught Macintosh the error of his brash and destructive ways, seeing a change in him that could only be called maturity. With maturity came understanding, and with understanding came a need to return to the ranch and the family he had left behind. Releasing the rest of his team back into the wild, Doran and Mac made their way back to their point of origin over several months, a Nidorino and a strapping teenager walking down the same dirt road that a Nidoran and gangly hothead had escaped on in years past. After the reception upon learning he'd finally come back, Macintosh learned that his parents had decided that being out in the world might have been for the better, and had not sent the police to find him or chased after him themselves; merely hoping he'd return to them in one piece once he'd found himself - and a solid whack upside his head with a soup ladle from his grandmother.

It was around this time that Macintosh espied how well Autumn was taking to her lessons covering the ranch, and the enthusiasm with which she seemed to look forward to working on it. Equally, he noted that he still longed for more outside the ranch, but no longer wished to leave his home and family - which had grown with the birth of Alyssa during his absence. So it came to pass that Mac would enter the boxing gym at the closest city, trying to discover hobbies close to home that took him away from the ranch scene for a bit, despite the gusto that he'd returned to the family's work with. Mac's physique began to finally fully-develop over the next few years, during which time he also joined the local unofficial trainer's gym, something of a battle club and actual workout gym for Pokémon trainers and their Pokémon. It seemed that Mac had quite the career in boxing, and had he said yes - would have been signed up to enter the circuit almost immediately, sure to put the name "Little Mac" into the history books. But in a move that surprised him, he did not sign and did not gain his license as a professional boxer, citing that while a passion, boxing was a hobby so that he could refresh for work on the Carver Family's ranch. Besides, he had two little sisters to think about now.

With all this in mind, and a talk with the elders of the household, Macintosh quietly arranged for Autumn to become the next head and manager of the ranch instead of himself, the first-born. He reasoned that with his perpetual wanderlust, and Autumn's quick assimilation and enthusiasm for the work and responsibility, he'd be happier supporting her as her right hand rather than disrespecting the traditions by not wanting the job. Finally satisfied with his lot in life, Macintosh got a job at a nightclub opening up in town by the name of 'Scratching Harmony' as a bouncer, using his physical presence as intimidation, and his strength to keep the peace. He worked hard on the ranch in the early mornings and early afternoons, looked to the care and assistance of his family, and then slept in the evenings until it was time to get up, put on his uniform and head down to the club with its thumping bass and classical string hybridized music.

As time passed at the battle club, Doran evolved into his final incarnation, a Nidoking that Macintosh could finally look eye-to-eye with, something he joked about with the Pokémon in his slow drawl regularly - and put to work helping him on the ranch as Autumn assumed more and more responsibilities under the proud eye of her protective older brother and their hard-working elders. With Alyssa starting public school, Mac made it a solemn vow to drop anything he was doing and come to his sisters' aid should they need him. The many trips to the schoolhouse to set straight the parents of bullies, and the many broken arms of potential romances chasing after Autumn (including the broken face of one failed romance), saw to it that he'd never broken that promise at any time - having grown into a large, powerful, and dependable man. Who might just happened to be a bit shy when talk of his own love life was brought up.

Boxing: Macintosh is a fierce in-fighter. His footwork leaves something to be desired, since he's not the most graceful farmer alive, but it'd take a boulder to down him, and he's yet to be knocked unconscious. Due to his incredible hardiness and ridiculous strength, Little Mac tends to not need to worry about anything more than one or two punches to end a conflict or match.
