Duay Duay Tembula Shikaka du Boo Boo Jumbo Jujube Voodoo Ha Tasin Abasi Offee [Male Voodoom] - Toss into the water over your left shoulder and walk away without looking back. You will have no anger against this person.
A Pokémon that only came into Howard's possession by being thrown into circumstances beyond their control on multiple occasions, the duo first met after Floren's abduction in Lumiosé, Kalos - before being united again in Marseille. For a third time, the two found themselves together in the Quara region where a series of events culminated in Duay Duay being a useful ally to both Howard and Floren. Unable to part after all they had been through together, Duay Duay remains with Howard, whether he resides in Unova or Kalos at any given time.
-Befriended in the Quara region.

Ability: Volt Absorb

...and the saints we see... wrote:Tall and slim, Howard has always been that way. He does, however, keep himself physically fit whether it be the gym or travelling across the world. His trademark appearance comprises blonde hair, cut short in the back of his head but left long in the front and his usual wear of jeans with incredibly deep pockets and a blue-green jacket over a white shirt.

That being said, he considers himself a master of disguises and will frequently wear whatever, whenever. This includes the use of varying accoutrements, from stunt-double uniforms to a doctor's cloak, he's more than likely worn it or will wear it very soon. Every few years, Howard's wardrobe evolves from the very basic and often considered bland, to becoming very quite chic and interesting, his latest trend sporting a maroon smart shirt with a soft, black suede jacket that he wore in his latest adventure through Kalos, the United Kingdom, Catalonia and Iraq.

...are all made of gold. wrote:Howard is a friendly, positive individual who always tries to see the good in any situation. Good-natured and honest, Howard could also be called quite nosy, but working for the law, he does have a high sense of justice. It's this aspect of his character that drives him to uncover the events of the clown, which begin with the death of an old man.

He will talk to anyone and will press matters until there is nothing left to press. This can and will get him into trouble on many an occasion, but unlike many other heroes, Howard chooses to use his wits and his mouth to get him out of trouble, rather than his fists. A comment Howard will most commonly hear on his travels is the term "get out of there", to which Howard often finds himself replying "I can explain everything".

When your dreams all fail... wrote:Little is known about Howard's private life. Tasks such as saving the world and quirky remarks are seen as more important than various relations - mainly Floren Villeneuve. He is a law graduate, which he studied at both the University of California and the University of Idaho. He has worked in California, at his Father's law firm, and in New York City as a bail bondsman. He is an only child.

Howard is also able to read Latin and is blessed with a "memory like a steel trap." He has a love of pirates and a strong dislike of clowns and mimes. In his adventures he has impersonated a police detective (earning himself the nick-name Sewer Jacques), has impersonated a doctor, has played the role of a stuntman, has been knocked unconscious by a large wooden Magikarp and journeyed all over the world to many different countries, being arrested at least twice and has nearly been killed at least twelve times, a fact he's not afraid to point out.

Despite Howard's many experiences with the supernatural, magical and occult, Howard is still very sceptical about a lot of what he witnesses, although contrary to popular belief, he is a theist, not an atheist. His lack of out and out belief however causes much distaste from his uncle who was a Christian priest. Howard has a very sarcastic outlook on life, with a dry wit and a casual approach to things around him. This does serve him well in a crisis though as he can think fast and doesn't panic.

Howard doesn't have any luck with his current love life.

Howard's social-nemesis is André Lobineau, a Kalosian history scholar whom Flo has known since college and who considers himself a competitor for Flo's affections. André runs an online history database, which Howard is blocked from viewing. Howard has made several acquaintances in different countries. This includes Pearl and Dwayne Letterman, who regularly travel (Dwayne a supposedly undercover agent for an unknown government department/agency) and the heavily-drinking gendarme (later ex-gendarme) who Howard meets twice at the café at Montfaucon.

...are the worst of all... wrote:Howard sat outside an adorable little structure, hidden away in the corner of an entirely peaceful street, looking up and admiring the famous Prism Tower. There was the very slightest of breezes, perfecting the already wonderful Kalosian weather.

« I'd only been in Lumiosé for a week but already I'd fallen in love with the city. My latest discovery was a little café, La Chandelle Verte. I was pretty sure the waitress was taking a shine to me. That old Sparro charm I guess. »

A young lady dressed in a red waiting uniform with a typical Kalosian apron emerged from within the shadowy structure, delicately holding a saucer with a cup of coffee mounted on top. Her smile was huge, comforting and very welcome. Relentless towards flirting, whilst chewing the end of a toothpick, he returned the smile as she placed the coffee down on to his table.

« Little did I know my revelry was about to be so rudely interrupted. »

The waitress' blond hair was up in a bun, but it wiggled frantically as she turned around and accidentally bumped into a man that had appeared from nowhere. He was exceedingly tall, much taller than her anyway. More distinguishingly, he carried a briefcase; he was wearing sunglasses and a large grey overcoat that was unnecessary for weather like today.

She looked up at him, startled - and also apologetic for accidentally walking into him. He didn't move or react, but you could tell from behind his shades that he was looking at her. He took his hand, raised his hat from his head and promptly returned it, before venturing into the café with the waitress in tow. Howard looked dumbfounded as he watched, mostly the waitress walking away, but also the curious individual that was the suited man.

Raising an eyebrow and continuing to chew on his toothpick, Howard turned to look at the vista, but was shocked and jumped to see little more than a - balloon. A bright, yellow balloon was an inch or so from his face, with two white eyes and a cartoon, toothy smile in the style of a Drifloon. Another to the left of it was blue; the other to the right was red. Taking his toothpick from his mouth with an incredibly unimpressed expression, he popped the yellow balloon with it. The red and blue ascended to the sky. Previously obstructed from view by the balloons, but now visible, was a clown.

Dressed in a yellow shirt with red polka dots, brown suspenders holding up his garishly coloured green pants and giant brown squeaky shoes was one of Kalos' famous entertainers. He was typical. The white grease paint, the bright red nose, the giant red lips, even a trick flower attached to his shirt. The only other feature aside from the terrifying balloons was an accordion. Once the balloon had been popped, he took it with both hands and played an awful tune that could only be composed by either an accordion or bagpipes.

The clown grinned maniacally at Howard, who for the most part, was entirely unfazed. It cackled once, before running inside the café, his shoes squeaking with every step. Howard watched and developed an 'I was enjoying the peace and quiet' mood, which was apt, the clown really had ruined the entire atmosphere, but like mimes, they had an uncanny habit to do just that.

To Howard's surprise, less than ten seconds later, the clown came running back out. Accordion now missing in action, the clown was carrying a brown, average-sized briefcase. The clown ran off, down towards an alleyway across the courtyard, squeaky steps all the way. Howard looked in horror as he realized whose briefcase it was. He opened his mouth slightly and the toothpick fell from within.

Howard went to turn around and face the café, to see if the man was giving chase, but didn't get a chance. All he heard was the most deafening noise, shards of glass flying in front of him, and then blackness.
