Keen (Pidgeotto) [Male]: Keen was Zella's first Pokémon, she had ever caught. Keen is used mainly to travers difficult terrain by carrying Zella for a while, granted it is not yet strong or large enough to carry Zella for an extended amount of time. Keen tends to be the mediator between Zella and Pokémon, whenever Zella could use a hand from any wild Pokémon, Keen is the one to do the convincing. Keen also is an able combative Pokémon in times of threat towards Zella, civilian, or innocent Pokémon. He holds a strong sense of morality for a Pokémon.

Ability: Keen Eye
Image
Marble (Rhydon) [Male]: Marble is the brute, and brawn of Zella's team. It's what pushes fallen logs off of paths, breaks boulders, breaks through walls of burning buildings to evacuate civilians, or whenever else destruction helps. Marble was the second Pokémon caught by Zella, and is a bit more on the lazy easy going side, ironically. However it does enjoy doing what it does best: Showing off his strength.

Ability: Rock Head

Ika (Pikachu) [Female]: What is Zella's newest member, caught while she was at Ranger School. Ika is by far the best hide-and-seeker ever, and definitely plays the lead role in all things scavenging and gathering. Ika has an abnormally good sense of smell, and can even find specific berries in a forest, and pick out the one you need. Ika is a more ambitious type, always wanting to be on the go, and is a great encouraging partner for Zella on long extended missions.

Ability: Static

Zella is a rather small, short, and slim figure. Standing at only about 5 ft (152.4cm) tall, and weighing only about 110 lbs (50 kg). Her eyes are a forest green color, which seems to suit her personality well. She has very light skin, which seems to take a while to darken, even when she is out in the sun for a long time. Long blond hair extends down to her waist, which she likes to let down, and free-flowing. She seems to be very scrawny from a distance, but up close you can see well toned muscles in her arms, and especially her legs, which she keeps well in shape during her training, and active lifestyle... she is no brute, but she can perform exceptionally well, seemingly acrobatic maneuvers.

As for clothing, she tends to wear the usual form fitting raner outfit, equipped with a survival bag, and a modified utility belt lined with her pokeballs. Whenever she isn't wearing her unifrom, she likes to dress in light casual clothing, that are easy to move around in, like normal t-shirts, jeans, shorts, tennis shoes, boots, jackets, or light coats. Not one for fancy looks, she keeps to plain or dimmer colors, with only very small subtle, or casual designs.

The first thing people might notice about her, is she has a very straightforward focus. She puts her mind directly to the task in front of her, if it is listening to a lecture, crossing a cliff, or eating food, he eyes seem to lock on their future destination, and not waver for a second.

The next thing you might notice, is she is inherently nice. If you bump into her by accident, she would more than likely apologize before you can. She would wave to whomever she happens to make eye contact with, even if they are complete strangers, and if there were only one of something left, she'd let the other person have it without question.

However no one can be 100% nice without a drawback, and her's is that whatever she doesn't like, tends to pressure her until she gets to be alone, where she lets it all out. She tends to be the type of person punching pillows and shouting to themselves when they get angry. It may turn out badly if someone were to overhear her ranting to herself when she thinks she is secluded or only around trusted companions.

Lastly, she has a very strong urge to see amazing things. She wants to travel the world, and see wonders, and feel awestruck. One of her topmost goals is to meet a legendary Pokémon on day... something very few people ever get to do.

Zella was born in Kanto, where she was raised for a while as a toddler. She lived right on the edge of town, nearby Viridian forest, where her family would often go camping. It was this activity that embedded a seed inside her, that would one day bloom to be her desire to see the world. When the war struck out, Zella and her family moved around Kanto for a bit, and when things finally settled down, and Seafoam Islands were established, they had moved their, to live at Gateway City on Island One.

The very militant oriented community drove Zella to be entroduced to the military, and peace keeping factions. One faction struck out to her the most... the Pokémon Rangers. The one's who befriended wild Pokémon, and helpped out communities and Pokémon alike, all while traveling across regions and discovering new things. That seemed like the perfect way to live to Zella. She had began working towards this goal, one day even coming across a Poké Ball that had fallen from a boat. Using that Poké Ball, she had gone out to the fields, and caught her first Pokémon, pidgey, which she then named Keen.

Upon returning home, Zella presented Keen, along with the wish to become a Pokémon Ranger. At first, her parents were angry with her for taking a Poké Ball that didn't belong to her, and ended up transfering that anger into her idea of becoming a ranger. Upset, yet still determined, Zella worked for a bit of cash, began training herself and Keen, bought a few pokeballs and lied to her parents about taking a trip so that she could travel to island four, and enter the Pokémon reserve. Here she encountered a few Pokémon, and upon spotting the biggest one she had seen yet, a Rhyhorn, she was determined that it if she could catch it, it would prove how determined and capable she was. After a difficult struggle, and using all the pokeballs she had been given, she finially caught the Rhyhorn. Both Keen and Zella, scratched up and tired, returned home with their new companion Marbel the Rhyhorn. Upon their return, her parents were startled by the appearance of their daughters scrapped up knees, elbows, ruffled hair, and tired dirty Keen upon her shoulder. Before they had noticed the Poké Ball she was holding, they immediatly began questioning her, realizing that she had lied to them about the trip. After explaining herself, presenting Marble, and opening up to her parents, they finially understood her determination, and agreed to help her get on her way. Zella began training her two new companions, until one day they had finially recieved a letter from the Ranger School, accepting Zella as a student.

Zella had arrived at the school on boat, and imediatly adapted to the school life, training, studying, and growing together with her Pokémon developed strong connections. Zella had at one point been out on field work with other classmates, and had ended up capturing a Pikachu, she named Ika. Who quickly became one with the team. Along the way, Keen had evolved, and became even closer to Zella. Once Zella had learned about mega evolution, she promised she would try her hardest to find a mega stone once Keen had evolved into a pidgeot.

Eventually, through a lot of hard work, Zella graduated from the Ranger School, and was just a few steps away from being a full fledged Ranger, ready to take on real official missions around the globe.

Zella had coughed up the cash, and proceded into the Pokémon reserve. She felt a strong feeling of guilt, for having lied to her parents to get here, but she felt an even stronger feeling of determination, and purpose. She had come here to prove herself, and her whole future would come down to what she did here and now. She needed to prove to her parents that she was serious, and fully capable of becoming a great Ranger. With Keen on her shoulder, she strutted into the thick brush with confidence.

Somewhere in the distence, the barking of houndour, the snapping of a twig under something rather heavy... perhaps a forreging donphan. All the noises and sensory details seemed to evoke a feeling of life within Zella. She loved the wilderness... even if it was just a reserve in the middle of an island.

She had continued until she reached a rocky bluff. It seemed like the path just dropped off into a shallow, but rocky chasm... Zella carefully dropped down the bluff, and began walking inside of the chasm, until the chasm widened out into a more open gorge. This is where she spotted a monster among the Pokémon in the reserves. A large stone clad Rhyhorn was sharpening it's horn against a boulder, leaving long white streaks in the boulder's face. The question now was, how would she even manage to weaken something like this? Keen would be weak against it, and she couldn't punch through stone.

Before she could think of a game plan, the Rhyhorn had spotted the two intruders. The gorge had been it's territory in the reserve for a while now, and the pesky human pidgey duo wasn't about to tromp on through it like they had the right to. Turning it's body to face Zella, it let out a feroucious warning cry... Zella of course didn't back down... even if she didn't have a full plan, she wouldn't let this opportunity go. That's when the Rhyhorn began it's charge. Zella quickly scrambled out of the way, throwing herself to the side, knees and palms of her hands biting into the rocky ground, as the Rhyhorn slammed into the side of the gorge behind her. Rising to her feet, Zella saw her chance. The Rhyhorn was stuck. It had embedded it's snout and horn into the rocky bluff, and was struggeling to remove itself with the poor leverage due to it's shorter limbs. Quickly Zella looked for options...

She had found it. Above the Rhyhorn, there was a decent amount of rubble that had accumulated along the wall of the gorge. If she could loosen up the rubble, she could hopefully drop enough heavy rocks on the Rhyhorn to weaken it, and tire it out... maybe even bonk it's head and make it dizzy. Quickly Zella dashed forward, using the Rhyhorn's back to jump off of, and grab onto an outcropping. Climbing a little higher, Zella was in a good poistion to create her little landslide. Finding a rock that seemed to support a good amount of the rubble, Zella kicked at it with as much strength as she could muster. However it just wouldn't budge enough to let the rubble loose... and she had ran out of time. The Rhyhorn had finially broken free of the rubble, and was moving away from the wall. "No! Get back over here!" She yelled at the Rhyhorn. That's when Keen enacted a plan of it's own. Crying out at the Rhyhorn, Keen dove down, and perched itself right on the Rhyhorn's horn, and began pecking towards it's eyes, trying to get as much attention as possible from the Rhyhorn. Once the Rhyhorn was aggrevated enough, Keen flew over, and landed on the ground in front of the wall Zella was waiting on. The Rhyhorn began it's charge, but was able to catch Keen by jerking it's head over just as Keen took off, knocking Keen out of the air, and smack into the rocky wall.

Zella, worried about what happened to Keen, knew she couldn't give up her chance now... She knew Keen could handle more than that... and Keen had taken the hit so that she would have this chance... She kicked at the rock once more, and finially with a loud crashing rumble, the rocks had fallen down, in a large heap on top of the Rhyhorn.

Sliding carefully down the rubble, Zella touched down on the ground once more, scooping up Keen, who was only just winded, and bruised, but otherwise ok, and pulled out her Poké Ball. She uncovered the top of the Rhyhorn's head, and tapped the Poké Ball against it. The Rhyhorn was enveloped in red light, and was pulled into the ball, and with little resistance, Marble had joined the party.
