Considering his age, Falkner is quite short in stature and could easily pass for a young teenager. Due to his vigorous, active and athletic training exercises with his Flying-type Pokémon, including climbing, jumping and running, Falkner is surprisingly well-built. His eyes match the rest of his attire, sapphire blue.

Falkner's hair is a glossy cerulean colour, covering the best part of half his visage. His hair separates in several places like blade edges, which reaches his lower neck. Falkner wears a very common, local, navy blue garb, presumably made from, what looks like, cotton - with a loose, white sash, underneath a very thin, turquoise fleece, decorated by six white circles. He is almost always seen with his red-rimmed, black armbands. His footwear consists of a pair of cosy, simple sandals.

Deemed handsome by his fans, Falkner is confident in his Pokémon and his own skills, but underneath a seemingly hard shell, Falkner is quiet and reclusive on the contrary. He strives to train his Pokémon to become better, alongside himself, hoping to become much greater than the first in a league of leaders. Falkner is known to have an incredibly digressive streak to his memorable personality, often trailing off about irrelevant topics and halting mid-sentence when he realises this, retracting with a light 'uh' and continuing the previous discussion.

Violet City's Gym Leader is selfless and uses his initiative in surprising times, concluding ideas that nobody else would have thought of. Pardoning his age and his lack of experience around Pokémon, Falkner is a rapid learner and has a hereditary trait that allows him to form new relationships, master unrecognised skills and concur complex problems.

Whatever happened to Walker has never been verified. Classified now as deceased after a police investigation, he was never seen again, not even a trace. It was said he was headed towards Cianwood City to visit an unknown friend, but was caught up in a fiasco, possibly and probably involving the illicit Team Rocket.

Earl was one of a few people who overshadowed Falkner whilst he was growing up in Violet City and also was his teacher whilst he was in education. He is a surprisingly stern man but has a very caring and whole hearted nature. He often sings and dances to amuse children who come to visit the school in Violet City, which causes confusion when they grow up to discover that, actually, he's not as nutty as he sounds and looks.

The two Gym Leaders actually knew each other before either became a Gym Leader (which happened roughly at the same time), they sometimes attended the school together although being a few years apart and would generally play together during that time, such as an adventure to the Slowpoke Well - the two gelled over time and now they have a fortified friendship.

Falkner seems to be a little older than the average trainer around Violet City, Cherrygrove City and the surrounding routes, excluding the monks of Sprout Tower. It could be said that Falkner had no interest in Pokémon as a child - if he had, he may have received a Pokémon far sooner as opposed to apparently inheriting his. Nevertheless, he appears to enjoy Pokémon just as much as everyone else does despite his late arrival, including all aspects of it, from battling, raising and even contests.

Falkner currently serves as a policeman when his time is available, but is often left on night shifts when he is not working as a Gym Leader. Currently, he is put on patrol and on call around Violet City, Cherrygrove City and New Bark Town, as well as surrounding routes. He is often called out to an incident at least every night, sometimes more than once on a single shift.

His father, who was his only family member remaining apparently died when Falkner was a young lad. He had been travelling to Cianwood City to visit an old friend when he was attacked and later killed by something unexplainable, according to the police. It was suspected to be an incident involving Team Rocket, which Falkner himself puts a lot of stock in.

It is said that Falkner spends a good deal of time with fellow Gym Leader, Bugsy, and that the two are often seen laughing, conversing and generally being good friends. The two may have grown up together. As well as Bugsy being his friend, he also has an unsettled rivalry with Janine, the Gym Leader of Fuchsia City from Kanto. Both of the two aspire to one day follow the footsteps of their fathers.

Violet City was raucous. Crowds through and through were huddling around, with no easy access way to the city. Falkner forced his way through, reaching the outlying hedges. His head bobbed up and down between the shrubbery, until he reached the route out of town. He leant against the academy's wall and exhaled heavily. He juggled Pidgey's Poké Ball for a while, gazing into the nearby pond.

"You can't stay here forever boy! You have many, many challenges awaiting you!"

Falkner's gaze had now averted to Earl, who was standing majestically on the other side of the pond. He rubbed his head briskly along the brickwork, his hair digging in through the cracks, the mortar pinching his scalp.

"Do you know what has happened?"

Earl glared at him with an ignorant scowl.

"Yeah..."

Falkner's reaction was definite. Without an explanation, he was certain Earl was on his case, alongside all the other people in Violet City. There was no end to the torment. There was no end to how ruthless Violet City had suddenly become.
