Conquer [Female Gemius] — "Till we conquer them all."
The first Pokémon that Erin ever owned, and the one she is closest to, Conquer is the Pokémon that is most representative of her mental state. Almost as unhinged as her mistress, Conquer adores battle and chaos in a way that few breeds of Pokémon do. Part of this might be a sympathetic bond with Eris, some kind of shared madness. Most likely though, it's the Pokémon's love for her trainer, and her desire to be as close to her as possible. Her twin, Divide, is owned by Erik, and the two Pokémon are frequently seen out with the pair when they're not specifically out causing trouble.

Needles [Female Beautifly]"I hear you callin and it's needles and pins."
Needles is a bit touched in the head, especially for a Pokémon. With an unhealthy addiction to blood like one might expect in a normal butterfly, and an enjoyment in watching her mistress cause misery to others, Needles is a sadistic little shit who spends all of her time riding around on her mistress back and heckling those that Eris inflicts pain on.

Image
Wonder [Female Liligant]"Bow down and stare in wonder."
Beautiful and elegant, Wonder is precisely what you would expect in contrast to Needles. The Pokémon carries herself with a certain kind of poise and grace, and is a calmer touch in comparison to the rest of Eris' team, and indeed, to Eris herself. She considers herself the treasure of the team and is rightly pampered, lest she wilt.

I'm naughty... wrote:Eris is in many respects the exact opposite of her slightly older twin. A shorter individual clocking in at around 5'6", she's tall enough for a young woman. Her skin is quite pale, almost porcelain in the right lighting, and her hair is a much paler white, streaked through at the back with black. Her face is almost androgynous, with delicately boyish features and wide violet eyes. This unintentional androgyny, coupled with her whip-thin build and mixed style of dress has led to her being mistaken for a young man when she doesn't have her traditional ponytail clipped to the back of her otherwise shaggily cut hair. She has a number of various scars and marks along her body, the most prominent a set of burn marks on her left arm, usually covered with bandages that look more part of her fashion choice than an injury.

When it comes to clothing, she has a much more punk-rock preference style compared to her twin, with heavy leanings toward black, varying shades of purple and deep pink. In casual situations, she's usually in gloves of varying lengths and styles, shorts with a long strap, a long tunic that hangs past her waist, a pair of long boots and a short vest. During performances, she changes out her tunic and shorts for a deep purple dress, affixes her ponytail, and exchanges her striped cloth glove for a long mesh one. She doesn't use a lot of makeup, and her accessories beyond her gloves are very minimal, except for the choker around her neck. This choker is thicker and hides a rope-burn mark where the girl tried to kill herself when she was younger.

I'm not evil. I'm chaotic. Not the same thing. I oppose order. Not good. wrote:Broadly speaking, Eris is a complex kind of individual. She's capricious, sometimes cruel, often unkind, but not specifically sadistic. She doesn't really define herself as 'evil', despite her actions usually qualifying, at least as far as others would be concerned. She doesn't really form attachments to people, at least not outside the steadfast presence in her life that is her brother. The pair of them have a relationship that many would consider both obsessive, and unhealthy, especially given the sometimes near romantic implications that their behaviors imply. It's difficult to tell at times whether this is a feint on the pair of the duo, or if their relationship really is more intimate than is usual for a brother and sister.

Eris is fundamentally broken on a level that most people can't understand. Between the abuses that litter her history, and the connection she shares with the Darkness, there is a part of her that will never be quite human again. Despite her appearance and apparent age, Eris is actually quite old, and has both the life experience as well as the practical knowledge that comes from an extended lifespan to contribute to her mental state. One could almost say that the longevity she and her twin share only lend to the further degrading of her mental state.

She's prone to a high degree of self-harm, and wears bandages around the wrist she frequently cuts on. Her other arm is littered with etched in words, placed there years ago during the early part of her slow mental spiral after the incidents of her youth. Despite all of the things wrong with her, though, Eris has a subtle determination to her that is usually not present in someone who has been through her levels of trauma. That being determination for a cause. The fact that her cause happens to be mayhem and the degradation of the order that dictates and dominates society, well, that's beside the point.

It's impossible to get a good ride through the cosmos these days. wrote:Eris and Echo were born Erin and Erik Vallas, a set of twins born to a hopeful father and mother in 1940 in rural America. The advent of their birth was something of a surprise, occurring exactly on the 29th of February that year. Born 13 minutes before his sister, Erik and Erin were not a pleasant birth for the young couple. Eris's first cries rang out into the world, joined by the soft weeping of their father as the midwife laid a gentle hand on his shoulder. Such that is was that the twins began life without their mother, taken by death in childbirth.

For as long as the twins can remember, they have been inseparable. As they toddled around in diapers in the farmhouse they called home, they learned early on that they together were something of a bane to their father. Abuse fell upon them twofold; seemingly everything they did and experienced was doubled. They shared in stolen moments of sanctity in the long stalks of corn and wheat, hiding away, just as the shared in beatings and reprimands. Together then, they endured. Whenever their father drank himself into a stupor, together they divided the burden. Where Erik would act out to make himself a target to the brunt physical abuse, Erin would be the one to try to hold together the broken pieces of their home. And truly, in the rural farmland they called home, little could be done to change their outlook.

Such was it that their life might have continued down this course, but the dark threads of fate seemed ready to pull for the Vallas twins. Their twelfth birthday, in the year 1952, came. Never had the twins known their birthday to be one of celebration, and so the event passed without fanfare. They woke, prepared breakfast for their father, and then the man left to tend to field and seed while Erik did the same. As he left, he gathered his sister up in a hug and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, softly wishing her a happy birthday. Meanwhile, Erin turned her attentions to tending the house, though she took some spirited away sugar and honey and flour and began to make the smallest of sweets for her and her brother to share...

As noon of that day came around, Erik found that the lunch he usually took with him in the mornings was missing. Growling with faint distress, because if his had been forgotten, so too had his fathers, he began to plot a course back from the field which he was maintaining... But as he approached through the young fallow grass, Erik felt a palatable heaviness to the air, the sky above the farmhouse paled to gray as if a storm or cyclone might bear down upon them in an instant... Breaking into a sprint, he galloped across the remaining yards to the little white house, cresting up the porch and through a door that had been ripped from its hinges, his fists clenching already as the young boy prepared to stand between their demon of a father and his other half.

Where Erik had always been the physical one, ready to fight tooth and nail, Erin had always been the one to take fate into her own hands by applying pressure just so to get a response... Today, it seemed, she had taken fate into her own hands full bore. Their father lay on the ground, bathed in the crimson of his own blood, the tattered remains of Eris's dress clenched in his cold fingers. Crusted salt from tears streaked the girl's face, though it was clear they had not been shed in sorrow of the dead. A tangled gore, their father's body began to melt into a monster. The twins locked eyes in mutual horror and felt their guts wrench.

Dropping to their knees, Erin felt the swirling shame of her brother as some visceral connection ripped open within them. "Failure. You couldn't defend the only thing worth defending. Useless." Likewise, Erik felt anguish wash over him, the unrelenting pain of his sister. "Soiled. Broken. Used. Take it out! No. Not one more time. Never.". Within him, he felt physical wounds mirroring that of his sister's pool warmly with blood. They reached out for one another as the dark anguish around them pooled into a tangible substance and they fell into the darkest nonexistence of the void creature's mind...

Within this place they clutched one another, clothing blasted from their battered and scarred forms, emotions raw upon their beaten psyches. They looked into the depths of one another and then into the swirling depths of the mind they'd fallen into as their anguish had swallowed them. Red eyes, thousands, swarmed around them, the swirling, nauseating half-forms of the Darkness examined the frail humanity that had slipped into this place and released a dark chuckle at what it saw. The twins pressed their foreheads together, minds sharing constant, overlapping and mirror thoughts. Together, they were not afraid. Nothing again would ever harm them for as long as they shared the world together... The dark being found some sick amusement in this and reached into their minds, cracking open the fragile shells it found there and filling them up.

Yes, it told them. Together, of one body, you might yet be strong enough... And they screamed, their pale bodies filled to the brim with such power that black blood seeped from every orifice. Truly, in that swirling chaos, they might have essentially been a single entity, a body born again in darkness and thrust out into the world again, twins. Whole. Unbeaten. Unbroken... and new energies rippling under their skins, ready to be commanded. To this day, even Erik and Erin can not say why the Darkness chose them. They know only that something inside them kept them from dying when so few were capable of accepting into them the powers of being the beings avatar. Perhaps, in their more rational moments, they reason that it had to do with sharing the burden...

Nevertheless, they awoke to find not even a speck of their house remained. All physical matter around them for a mile had been blasted away, gone... That suited the twins well enough. They never looked back... And so it was that they began to travel, never staying in one place for long or in one alias for long. Something about the event changed them materially. For every four years that pass now, they reason, they age another year. Given then that 15 leap years have passed since their rebirth, they are barely now young adults...

This suits them well, and they presently assume the named Echo and Eris, the twins fronting the band known as Discord.

You've been kind for far too long my dear. Time to be cruel. wrote:Unique Abilities_______________________________________
└─Powers unique to the character.

Dark Avatar: As an embodiment of the Darkness in full upon the world, the twins can use all categories of void abilities. They also have the capability to 'gift' their abilities to anyone they are destructively in tune with, thus denying themselves access to this ability until the one they lend it to returns it, or dies. However, anyone not truly blessed by darkness using these abilities would be slowly killing themselves. That being said, the twins are rarely in the habit of this, as selfish creatures of whim. This also gives them a very unsettling, eerie aura, very much like having an evil ki. Even when their darkness is hidden, those with strong metaphysical senses may feel a little uneasy around them, with something one simply can't put their finger on.

├─Classification: Void
├─Category: Avatar
└─Power Level: Inherent

Manipulatory Discordance: As the Avatar of the Body, the twins' power manifests as the ability to harness and manipulate matter and energy of the world around them by shifting the slightest element of the void within them. For Eris, this manifests as the ability to collide hostile elements to generate energy. Where her brother will use incredibly fine control of atoms and matter to manipulate the world around him, Eris is much more fond of the shifting of probability to put her enemies every action and intention into disarray, usually to explosive effect.

├─Classification: Void
├─Category: Void Projection
└─Power Level: Master

Hex Bolts: Due in part to the ability to warp Darkness energies that leek into the world, both siblings possess simple control of these energies. This manifests as reddish magenta colored energy which they can hurl as regular attacks. It is incredibly adept as diffusing force and energy fields.

├─Classification: Void
├─Category: Void Projection
└─Power Level: Master

Take Your World Away: When working in tandem with his sibling, Echo and Eris can essentially cut off the abilities of another by shifting probably and matter in their favor. When they do this, they oppressively negate their target's ability to use a skill category.  For example, Psychic: Mental Projection. The more targets they attempt to do this to, and the more skill categories they attempt to do this to, the more difficult it becomes for them to maintain, but they have been known to maintain three to five suppression without being taxed across three or so people. This ability is overarching and essentially negates that ability until the target leaves and the effect wears off over the course of an hour or two, or until the twins are summarily defeated and lose handle on the negation.
