Welcome to Blackthorn City, a quiet mountain retreat! Blackthorn City is located in northeast Johto. Many famous Dragon-type Trainers, including Clair and Lance, come from Blackthorn City because it is home to the Dragon Clan. Blackthorn City is nestled high in the mountains and is often sought as a relaxing village to hide oneself in for a while.

Blackthorn Gym
The Blackthorn Gym is the official gym of Blackthorn City. It is based on Dragon-type Pokémon. The Gym Leader is Clair. Trainers who defeat her receive the Rising Badge. Clair is known for her avoidance and will probably make set her challengers on a task first.

Dragon's Den
A clan of masters of Dragon-type Pokémon have lived in the city for generations. The masters built the Dragon's Den, a cavern with an underground lake that contains a shrine to Dragon Pokémon, as well as the elders of the Dragon Clan. The entrance is located behind the gym, across a small pond, while the main cavern seems to be located underneath the city.

Locations Around Town

Route 45 & 46
Route 45 is a route in the mountains of Johto. The steep ledges make traveling northward towards Blackthorn City extremely difficult. The route starts as a single path as it leaves Blackthorn City, with an entrance to Dark Cave on the western side, but soon breaks into three parts. The Route meets with Route 46 in the south. Route 46 is a route in eastern Johto. Though it is the last numbered route in Johto, its southern end can be accessed via Route 29. It lies between Route 29 and Route 45, and Dark Cave can also be accessed here.
