Welcome to Ecruteak City, a historical city where the past meets the present! Ecruteak City is located in northern Johto, northeast of National Park, northwest of Violet City, and west of Mt. Mortar, and is surrounded by wooded terrain. Ecruteak City is home to many myths of the Pokémon world, especially those surrounding the five Legendary Pokémon that used to inhabit the two towers there, Tin Tower and Brass Tower, though the Brass Tower was long since lost in a fire.

Image Burned Tower
The Brass Tower, with gleaming silver-colored panels, was, according to legend, the perch of Lugia. Once as majestic as the gold-colored Tin Tower, the Brass Tower was burned to the ground after a mysterious fire. This disaster chased the two legendary Pokémon away, but not before Ho-Oh gave new life to three Pokémon killed when the tower was destroyed — Entei, Raikou, and Suicune. Lugia left its home of the Brass Tower to live always in the depths of the Whirl Islands, while Ho-Oh began to fly around the world, searching and waiting for a day when it would find a trainer with a pure heart.

Kimono Dance Theater
The Kimono Dance Theater is where the Kimono Girls dance and battle. Each of the five Kimono Girls has an evolution of Eevee: Vaporeon, Flareon, Jolteon, Espeon, and Umbreon.

Image Tin Tower
Seven hundred years ago, two nine-tier towers were built opposite each other in Ecruteak City. The towers were built to foster friendship and hope between Pokémon and people. The view from the top of the towers was said to be "magnificent." These towers were called the Tin Tower and the Brass Tower. The Tin Tower was said to be the roost of Ho-Oh, but this is no longer so. The monks here are very protective of the tower, and very few may enter.
